The food here is excellent! I'm a regular for delivery and there are a few dishes I can't stop ordering - shrimp dumpling soup is delicious, and the shrimp gyoza are absolutely amazing. I literally order them over and over again because they're that good. Delivery is always very quick and reliable. I know I can count on them when I'm craving quality Asian food at home, which is why I keep coming back. I haven't dined in yet, but every time I walk in to pick up an order, the place looks really cute and inviting. I definitely need to sit down and enjoy a meal there one of these days to get the full experience. The only thing I'd mention is that it's slightly more expensive than your typical Asian bistro. But honestly, the food quality makes it worth the extra cost. You're paying for consistently great dishes and reliable service. The food was good quality but the terriya shrimp was overcooked & the tempura cheesecake was not crispy & was literally hard to bite into it. The food is still delicious, although the General Tso's was a bit greasy last time - it was still good. I just wish fortune cookies were free (although 60 cents for four of them isn't bad). I found UJ's when looking for new takeout spots and it is awesome! It may even be my favorite Chinese/Japanese restaurant at the moment. I usually steer clear of Asian fusion but UJ's really succeeds in both the Chinese and Japanese food realms. My favorites are the vegetable udon soup, salad (the ginger dressing is BOMB!) and sesame tofu. Also, the red bean bubble tea makes me a happy camper. So I have ordered chow menu twice and received chop suey bean sprout crap both times. Idk what's going on. MEIN MEANS NOODLES HOW IS MY DISH BEING MADE WITHOUT THEM? Not sure why the ratings are so favorable. Supermarket sushi and back-lit menu takeout Chinese food taste, plus decor. Chicken and Chinese vegetables, standard not salty, not sweet brown sauce. We've been on a search for great bubble tea since we moved about 6 months ago. We thought *maybe* we found it, but the flavor was a bit weak and it tasted like more creamer than tea. I ordered the red bean and what I received was a black milk tea with a scoop of actual red beans in it. A few were mushed up. Every time I took a sip I ended up with weak tea, bean grit, and actual beans, along with the boba. It was gross, and we threw it away. Also ordered sushi which was decent. We did notice a woman in the back not wearing a mask. So all in all, meh. We won't be back. Oh well, the search continues. read more

I've been trying for about 10 years to find a good Chinese restaurant. Based on reviews I ordered from UJ. I got the wonton egg drop mixed soup which was pretty good, fried pork dumplings also pretty good. Disappointment can when we got to the main dishes. We ordered sizzling beef & scallops and subgum wonton dishes. Both dishes had lots of meat and veggies but they were both submerged in brown liquid. This was not a nice flavorful sauce but more of brown water. There also no flavor to either dish. The Subgum Wonton was described as having fried won tons but they were submerged in the liquid and waterlogged. I thought they were chunks of chicken like you get in sesame chicken. Sorry, not going back and if it wasn't for the tasty soup this place would get 1 star read more

Food cold and burnt to a crisp beef on a stick, had to go back for a refund and the cashier didn't want to, she would only refund half. Very poor customer service. Instead of giving me the remaining $10 she has lost a repeat customer. I would have never put those burnt wings and beef in the box. I will not ever order there again. A very nicely decorated, family-run restaurant offering healthy and delicious Chinese fare from the various provinces. Their prices are better, that is; lower, than most other places in the area. Their won ton soup is particularly rich and flavorful. Some restaurants' soup barely tastes like chicken. Not so here. It's excellent and very welcome on a cold winter's day. I have eaten here many times, and I have always enjoyed my meal, and it's always served with a smile. Their large menu has all the dishes we have become familiar with; egg foo young, chicken with asparagus, General Tsao's chicken, and authentic big bowl noodle soups - all freshly prepared on premises. Like most New Jersey Chinese restaurants, it's BYOB, which saves you quite a bit, if you want to enjoy wine or beer with your dinner, when compared to the cost of buying alcohol at the restaurant. Ordered takeout, it cost almost $75, and when I got home, I opened my Chicken and String Bean dinner to find a container of only string beans. When I ordered, I asked for extra chicken, because this had happened before. When I called, the women who claimed she was the manager, was very patronizing and refused to let me speak, often interrupting me with "what do you want" and "well the customer is always right." She also said that the restaurant did nothing wrong, insisted we read the order wrong, and hung up on me. I ordered from here twice. Once take out and once delivery. Both times I received calls after placing the order to say they were either out of an item or that they no longer sell it. The menu is misleading or the someone is less than honest. My chow mein arrived with no noodles, so I called UJ's. There was disagreement among the receptionist and other employees (and perhaps the owner) over whether chow mein includes noodles, fried or otherwise. When the manager or owner got on the phone, she vacillated over what the chow mein included. Ultimately, I was basically told tough luck. You should have ordered "lo mein or mei fun." One time the sushi seemed fresh. The other time it was borderline. Really a shame because the place looks nice. read more
