There was a slightly awkward moment at the entrance: a sign told us to wait to be seated, but no one was there to greet us. Instead, a man behind the bar called out from across the room to ask how many were in our party, then simply told us to "sit anywhere." It wasn't a big deal, but it felt a little off-putting and impersonal. As for the food: The wonton soup had good flavor but was just warm which was disappointing on a freezing cold day when a hot bowl of soup would have hit the spot. The pork bun and dumplings were delicious. The tea was also very good, and the overall service was prompt and efficient. It's a solid place with a friendly atmosphere and tasty dishes. Despite the small oddities, I'd say it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I passed this place across from the Acme Shopping Center, and just down the road from Brookdale's Lincroft campus. So I stopped in. I was immediately greeted by the staff, who introduced themselves, then seated me. I was impressed with the style and newness of the decor. A fully stocked sushi bar is prominently featured, and the beautifully decorated restaurant has comfortable tables and chairs throughout. The Asian Bistro has a cool sophisticated look, and a picture menu, which I'm sure is helpful to those patrons that are unsure of what to order. I enjoyed my hot and sour soup; redolent with velvety mushrooms and strips of tofu, with a "just right" spicy broth and enoki mushrooms and various types of Asian vegetables. I finished every drop. And....my entree was not served until I finished my soup. A rare treat, usually the entree is delivered halfway through the soup/appetizer course, in far too many restaurants. My entree was called Triple Delight with garlic sauce. It arrived on a modern, square plate, stacked high with firm, not mushy shrimp, chicken, and beef slices. Broccoli and carrots, celery and mushrooms bathed in a spicy garlic sauce, and accompanied by a bowl of rice. The service was attentive and friendly. In fact everyone from the manager to the sushi chefs were quite friendly and accommodating. The quality of my dish was excellent; both in presentation and taste. The portion was quite generous as well. It just hit the spot! This newly re-opened, re-decorated, and re-imagined restaraunt is definitely worth a try. I also want to note that this place is open pretty late. I was there at 9:30 on a Tuesday evening and they were packed with people waiting for their food while the phone was still ringing off the hook with orders coming in. I ordered the egg drop soup, spring rolls and the szechuan wonton. I was happy with all three. Again - they definitely weren't the best I've ever had, but they all hit the spot and made me happy. China Moon was there when I needed my Chinese fix - and I'll definitely be back!

We ordered the standard Chinese take out items--general Tsos chicken, vegetable lo mein and string beans stir fried with garlic. Everything came out quickly. The general tsos chicken could have been more crispy, but I appreciated that they weren't just half breading. The vegetable lo mein was good, but the string beans were covered with pork. The menu doesn't state anything about pork, and I don't eat red meat. I didn't want to make it inconvenient, especially after Freddy had been so friendly and generous, so I just scraped off the pork. The hot and sour soup also had bits of pork in it, though it is normally vegetarian. Wonderful service and food, just wished the menu was more clear.
