I think this is my second time here. Some Chinese places not open on Tuesdays for some reason. This one was open and thought I'd give it another go. Nice family dinner business can tell by the kids eagerly helping out. The prices are very reasonable and the food is cooked relatively quickly depending on how busy. It was doing a brisk takeout that evening. There are some tables to eat there if need be. It's located in a small strip plaza behind 7-Eleven. The food was pretty decent for what it was. Still on the hunt for a flavorful Chinese place but this one did the job in a pinch. I think I'll give it more visits.

Years ago,(it may have been a different name/owner), around 98, I tried this place for lunch, and didn't care for it very much, but when I moved just down the street, in 2005, I tried them for delivery, and had been happy with them many times. I did have some other favs. around the LB. area, and had been ordering from them, but sadly they had really been running down hill of late. I'm a huge fan of General Tso's and sesame chicken, and lately the chicken has not tasted like any chicken I have ever had. Would compare it to what I think styrofoam packaging peanuts sauteed in Chinese sauce would taste like.(note, not referring to to Golden Sun). I decided over the weekend to try GS, again and was more than happy with them as I once had been before. Great Hot and Sour soup. Shrimp rolls are still big, and not too greasy and of coarse, General's chicken was actually really chicken! Delivery was fast and friendly, and the prices are still pretty much what they were years ago. Cheaper than most and better quality. Probably deserves better than three stars, but I'm conservative with my four and five star ratings. 3.5. I posted on FB. my missing good Chinese cuisine and was given some recommendations I may try, but don't worry.......will definitely order from here again soon!

Hot and sour soup. Just a bit too thick!!! Otherwise very yummy!!!!

I love this place. Great American style Chinese food. Get the General Tso's chicken or egg foo young. Hot n sour soup is delicious.

For me, this is the go-to restaurant for Cantonese cuisine due to its variety, authenticity, and menu choices. Aside from weekend dim sum, my go-to dish was the chicken pan-fried noodles. I met up with my old colleagues a few weeks ago when I was in the area. I was glad to be able to visit this restaurant again; our original choice was closed on Tuesdays, like many others. Braised Eggplant & Chicken with Salted Fish ($25): A uniquely authentic Hong Kong dish that I rarely get to try. Delicious. I would definitely order it again. Lufa & Fresh Tofu Skin in Chicken Sauce ($22): The tofu skin was a bit tough to chew, but this is another dish that is not commonly available in standard Chinese restaurants. Beef with String Bean ($21): On point. Dry Beef Chow Fun ($20): This is a common dish found in most Chinese restaurants. It was a bit lacking in flavor, but the texture of the chow fun was perfectly rendered. Pork Chop with Salt & Pepper ($19) Another classic fare. Crispy and tasty, with jalapeños to boot. Unlimited complimentary tea was served, and the staff was attentive and friendly. Decors and ambiance were good for any occasion. It was an excellent evening spent at West Lake Plum House.

Ask for or point to what you want and the push cart ladies will mark your dim sum card. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + 2 connected dining rooms inside with about the same amount of seating in both. Not a huge restaurant, but ample seating though. + Private parking lot in the front and back of the restaurant. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Came by on Labor Day around 12:15 PM and it was expectedly busy inside, however, we were seated immediately. There was constant turnover inside, so there were never any parties waiting, but most tables were occupied.

Everywhere I go I hear people rave about the quality of the food here and being the noble reviewer I am I decided to put aside my PTSD and give King's a shot... and I am so glad I did. King's has now become a staple in my household whenever everyone is in the mood for Chinese food. You truly cannot go wrong with anything on the menu and everything I've tried so far has been delicious. The sesame chicken is great, the dumplings are small but flavorful, and the noodles are OUTSTANDING. I also really appreciate the friendly staff, and the owner Frank runs a very efficient operation. Whether it's pickup or dine-in, I can confidently say you will love King's and it might just become a staple in your household too.

The owner, Freddy, is very chatty and told us on weekends, they have a line for tables. His service is amazing, he connects with all his patrons, and is super generous. He brought us hot and sour soup, additional dumplings, and gave us a taste of his chicken and eggplant dish. We ordered the standard Chinese take out items--general Tsos chicken, vegetable lo mein and string beans stir fried with garlic. Everything came out quickly. The general tsos chicken could have been more crispy, but I appreciated that they weren't just half breading. The vegetable lo mein was good, but the string beans were covered with pork. The menu doesn't state anything about pork, and I don't eat red meat. I didn't want to make it inconvenient, especially after Freddy had been so friendly and generous, so I just scraped off the pork. The hot and sour soup also had bits of pork in it, though it is normally vegetarian. Wonderful service and food, just wished the menu was more clear.

Both the dim sum menu and a lunch menu with standard Chinese restaurant fare were available. My party got the general tso's chicken from the lunch menu, and it was exceptional. Good-quality white meat with just enough spice. Heads up, though, the lunch dishes don't come with rice, so order that separately. From the dim sum menu, we ordered braised tripe with ginger & scallion, fried shrimp rolls, shrimp dumplings, steamed chicken buns, and crab meat soup dumplings. The braised tripe was a standout. It was cooked in a light yet flavorful sauce of ginger and scallion with the tripe's own broth. The delicateness of the sauce worked perfectly with the tripe. The dumplings were all great, especially the soup dumplings. The steamed chicken bun was the only thing I'd skip. It was on the heavier side, and the filling was just okay. The bill came out to about what I expected for the amount of food we ordered--$65 before tip. The service was friendly, and taking our order and getting the food was quick. After the food arrived, though, it was a little difficult to flag down a server to order more and later to get the check. Still, it was understandable given how busy they were, constantly collecting orders and putting out food. Overall, Canton Palace is a great find for anyone looking for this style of Chinese food outside of the usual New York neighborhoods.

As someone who cooks I was extremely disappointed. I should have sent back but they didn't seem to have any interest in our experience & there was a language barrier. Gets a star because hot and sour soup was fine and was heated appropriately and the sesame chicken with broccoli was good. Also can't give zero stars here...... wish I could. They charge $4 for rice and then grudgingly package it with leftovers. Entire restaurant had open tables but they stuck us against the servers alley that leads to kitchen. We had the staff behind us at a large table chattering away loudly while we tried to eat and talk. It was a mess. My husband paid the server in cash. They attempted to keep our change. I had to repeat myself multiple times asking for our change to come back. It almost seemed deliberate. So unprofessional. And yet my kind husband tipped the waitstaff generously; he's far kinder than I would have been. Not a class act restaurant. Will NEVER go back. REGRET that we chose this restaurant on our day out. =(
