    Dim Sum Cart

This is now my favorite dim sum spot. Even though the restaurant is small holy moly they have a ton of varieties to choose from and it was all piping hot and fresh. The Lotus Leaf Sticky Rice had a generous filling of minced pork, mushrooms, Chinese Sausage and surprise, surprise...a piece of salted egg. I haven't seen that since I was a kid. I was also excited to see Mai Lai Gao which is my sister's favorite growing up. It is a fluffy sponge cake made with brown sugar, very yummy. The fried taro puffs were a light golden brown. The shrimp in the Har Gow is incredibly juicy. Love that they still use rolling carts. They didn't ask what tea we wanted but we enjoyed the one they served. I believe it is Oolong. Lots of locals so come early. Sure beats spending $28 for two Nathan's hot dog, fries and soda.

West Lake Plum House is nestled on a corner of a somewhat uninspiring strip mall. When you enter West Lake Plum House you are greeted with tables and a rugs that seem dated along with fish tanks in the back. The food is the highlight and I enjoyed the dumplings. The portions are enough to share and I could not finish the ribs. The ribs were cut into almost bite size pieces with the bone still intact. The sauce on the ribs was almost like a sweet and sour. I will be back for sure to try different items.

Food is alright . Service is not great . They kick you out so quick within an hour... Will not come back here again rude staff

A legit Cantonese restaurant where you can find traditional "yum-cha" style dim sum served via push carts. You can find all your typical dim sum favorites here - ha gow, siu mai, cheung fun, chicken feet, sticky rice, roast pork bun, etc. The quality is very good and comparable to other authentic dim sum restaurants in the tri-state area. If you're not in the mood for dim sum, they also offer a full menu of traditional Cantonese dishes here. Service is quick and the staff is generally helpful.

Closer look of sautéed string beans from their lunch menu.

We were quickly and warmly greeted by the young woman working behind the desk. She was finishing up an order and then took ours. I always stick to my tried and true favorite of Thai milk tea with boba. I would give my Thai tea a 4/5- it was tasty, but lacked a bit of the stronger/earthy flavors other Thai teas have. My husband got the pineapple tea. He forgot to request boba, so his was just the drink without the bubbles. I liked the stronger flavor of his tea more than mine. The cups were adorable, with cat shaped covers and ears popping up. If you are heading down the shore and are in the mood for a bubble tea, this is a good option. They also offer tangulu (fruit dipped in crunchy, clear sugar coating). We did not try it this time, but I will definitely be back to give it a taste. Very unique menu item that isn't found in many others places!

The only thing that really upset me, was that when I asked her to please raise the heat (it was very cold in the restaurant), she didn't. I left the waitress a $20 tip upon the insistance of my boyfriend. I was very disappointed that she didn't raise the heat. After all it was a raw, rainy day today. The kind of cold that seeps into you bones. I will go back there but will take the food home. I won't dine in until the weather gets hot.

For 8 of us, we ordered soup, 4 egg rolls and 2 portions of spareribs. All came out delicious. We then ordered 2 shrimp with lobster sauce, steamed beef and vegetables, fried rice. The food was cold! When we called to make a reservation, they told us that 7:00 was available, so we took it. Now comes the interesting part. By 8:30 the restaurant was just about cleared out and we were just ordering our dessert. They started washing the floors by us with ammonia! I don't care if they clean the tables and start to reset them for the next day, but floors with a mop and ammonia? I know it was a holiday week and they were busy and overworked so I will probably give them another chance.
