Rice Rice Noodles Roll w.Special Sauce
Kingsley H.

Wow this place is amazing! Good to have authentic hk food in NJ! Everything was so good and had that homemade feel.

Hong Kong style milk tea.
Susanna C.

My dream come true - a HK style cafe right in our area. First - HK style hot milk tea. Nice and strong, great flavor. The tea is 5 stars. Pork chop with curry flavor on spaghetti was also very good. The brisket spicy style was too spicy and the sauce was more like soup- if the sauce was more reduced it would go better on the rice. Will be back for more tea and to try some of the street food dishes!

While my partner and I were coming back from the Catskills, we decided to stop by this Hong Kong style café. This is my partner's first time trying Hong Kong food, and he was absolutely floored. We ordered the curried fish balls, beef casserole, and peanut butter rice rolls. He loves the fish balls a lot. I loved the rice rolls very much. The rice rolls had a wonderful combination of indulgent and sweet with a slippery texture that delighted to senses. Service was efficient and helpful. The restaurant itself felt clean, and the Hong Kong train station decor was cute. I really like this, and I'm so happy I got to share this experience with my partner.

Atmosphere: 4 The restaurant is unassuming outside, but actually quite large and spacious inside. The decor inside is a bit lacking and I wasn't sure what they're trying to go for. when we got inside, we were quite confused about what to do until someone came to greet us. There was a huge sign saying how to order for take out, but we wanted to dine in. If it weren't for another party already seated inside, we would've thought they weren't open for dine in. Once seated, the table has a little table sign with a QR code to order. It was cool that it automatically recognized our table. They provided a paper menu for my mom. We were able to either order from the phone or with the waiter. However, we noticed that there were inconsistencies between the paper menu and the digital one. Portion: 5 The portions are on the larger side. We ordered a couple of appetizers and two main dishes. That was more than enough for the 3 of us to share. The toast at the end is a lot bigger than I thought. For the price, I think it was a pretty good deal. Flavors: 5 Look no further if you want some authentic Hong Kong diner flavors! Happy to see a HK diner open up in town and even happier that it scratches the HK diner itch. There's a variety of things to choose from. Very happy that they offer HK style milk tea and it tastes exactly as it does in HK. Overall, I'd go there again to try other things on their menu! I think they probably could improve on their vibe inside the restaurant and fix their menu. They have plenty of space so there is capacity to have more customers. No worries about bringing a bigger party.

This was my first time visiting, and let me tell you...it did not disappoint! Getting there was easy, and I loved that they had two handicap parking spots right in front, plus additional parking in the back. Super convenient! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome and promptly escorted to my seat. The ordering process was modern and seamless.I just scanned a QR code, placed my order, and paid right from my phone. So simple and efficient! Then came a pleasant surprise: the host brought me a pitcher of Citrus Bliss Infused Water without me even asking. It was refreshing, exactly what I needed, and yes, I shamelessly drank the whole pitcher myself! Now, let's talk about the food!because WOW. I started with a pineapple bun with butter, and it was everything I hoped for;fluffy, buttery, and just the right amount of sweetness. Then came the main event: scrambled eggs and beef rice with tomato sauce. One bite, and I was in flavor heaven. The balance of flavors was perfect, and every bite was packed with deliciousness. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was just as impressive. The design of the place is fun and inviting, making it the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy a great meal. I will definitely be back to explore more of the menu, and if you haven't been here yet...do yourself a favor and go! Highly recommend!

Great service . The presentation was as exquisite as the flavor. Loved the Hong Kong style coffee and the milky cream french toast !

TLDR: authentic tasty food There aren't many Hong Kong style cafes in the area. Wow cafe represents them well. These iconic dishes are both comforting and satisfying. The translations can be a bit confusing if you're unfamiliar with the food, but most of the food options are delicious. Ask the waitress any questions you have and she will gladly help you out. I will definitely be regularly coming by this restaurant. The value is pretty good too

First time trying out this place after seeing all the great reviews. Upon arriving, we weren't sure if we should go in since it was empty for a Friday night. We decided to give it a try anyway... and oh boy, are we glad we did. We ordered baked chicken with black pepper sauce over rice (we saw another posted calling mushroom sauce and looked so good), beef brisket stew/casserole, Hong Long Milk Tea, fried chicken leg, and milky creamy HK toast. Everything we ordered were soooo good. What a nice surprise. What I appreciated the most was that when I asked our waitress if the baked pork chop dish with black pepper sauce is the mushroom sauce dish I saw from another poster, she explained that it is the same dish but it's not called mushroom sauce, but if I want, she can have extra mushrooms added. We said yes to extra mushrooms thinking they were going to nickel and dime us and charge extra. To our surprise, they didn't charge us extra for the extra mushrooms, and it really made the dish much better than if it just had a couple pieces of mushrooms. We will definitely be back to try more stuff on the menu. Hope they get busier and stick around.

We ordered this spicy beef brisket pot at the WoW Cafe in Edison New Jersey. Very delicious! Highly recommended!

Excited to find this cute little Cafe in Edison very close to hmart. It can be easily missed as it is sits in between 2 buildings. Staff are very friendly and the food is served very fast. Definitely HK style service! Highly recommend the baked pork chop over rice. Pork chop is tender and went so well with rice and tomato sauce. The rice roll is also good, except it is listed on the menu as pork rice roll, but I didn't taste or see any pork in it at all. The pineapple bun was quite small, definitely much smaller than the bun you buy from a regular chinese bakery. It comes with a thick slab of butter in the middle which actually ended up making the bun taste quite creamy. A bit too much butter for my liking but I know it's the rage in HK. The mango pomelo tea was excellent, not too sweet. The HK milk tea was creamy and delicious. Overall, great cafe with tasty food. I will definitely be going back for the baked pork chop!

New HK cafe in Edison! I don't know of any other HK cafes in the area, so this is a nice addition. First of all, the food was quite tasty. I ordered a baked chicken curry dish, which was really flavorful. I also tried one of the fried rice dishes which I really enjoyed. Generous portion, especially given the price. I finished my plate and was really full after... could have easily kept some leftovers. Parking lot is in the back, shared with Coco cafe. The HK milk tea did look expensive. Its a basic drink, so $6 seems kinda high imo. Another complaint is that food took a really long time to come out. Since they are new, I won't reflect that in my rating, but if it is like this later I may have a tough time coming back.

HK style cafe food place. PARKING LOT IS BEHIND THE BUILDING, THEN WALK THRU SMALL ALLEY Pros: taste was 4/5, cute decorations, random crane game section, clean, spacious, free WiFi Cons: food tasted a little bit homemade, parking lot is behind the building and walk thru alley, order via online website or at kiosk for takeout.

Hong Kong Cafes also known as Cha Chan Tang, translated as "tea restaurants", which are British-influenced affordable eateries serving up western style dishes. Imagine my excitement when I saw one open up in my area. Some of the best ones I have visited were in H.K. where I was born. Menu: - Scan the barcode for the menu. I had a good laugh as there were a handful of misspelled words. Someone didn't do a spell check. Drinks: - we had the H.K. Milk Tea, delicious and perfectly made. Make sure to give it a swirl before that first sip. Their ice cubes are made of tea. Items worth trying: - Butter Pineapple Bun (upon first bite, my son and I thought it was only okay until that amazing butter melted and hit the back of our palate. It's a special kind of butter that I never tasted before) - HK Style Curry Fish Balls (my son enjoyed it) - Cocoa Milky Cream French Toast (filled with evaporated milk, need I say more) - Pork Rice Noodles Roll (love the hoisin and peanut sauce but it did not have any pork in it. Eat it as fast as you can. It's best when it's hot) - Pork Chop w/mushrooms in Black Pepper Sauce topped with cheese over spaghetti Decor: - the seating configuration is a bit odd. They also dedicated an area with some claw machines and I think it's a wasted use of space. Service: - excellent and attentive. Parking: - horrible as there is none. Note: 10% off if you pay in cash.

Tofu and Fish hotpot: Fried white fish, fried tofu, string beans, bell peppers in a sauce that is probably reduced chicken stock. I'm biased since it's one of my favorite chinese dishes. I don't know when this specific dish is amazing, but I can tell you when it's bad. Green Lake's version is anything but bad. Shrimp Stuffed Tofu: We were given a sample since they were trying something new. The sauce is similar to the tofu hotpot but has a porkier feel because of the ground pork within the dish. The tofu is the same, but the way they fried it is different, so it took a step up. The shrimp was fine, and I think they should have this on their menu. Whole Fried Chicken: It's fine. Didn't love it. There's no batter to speak of at all, and you're reliant on the spicy sauce and ginger sauce provided. Stir Fried French Beans w/ Salted Fish: Crunchy French Beans, and very salty salted fish. Not my favorite, but it keeps things different. Hot prawn salad with broccoli: The broccoli was just boiled. Nothing to talk about. The pawn was fried and bathed in mayonnaise. What's not to like? Pork Chop: This is another Chinese restaurant staple. 85% of the chinese porkchops that you eat will taste the same. This one is no different. Hokkien Fried Rice: My chinese restaurant guilty pleasure. How else can you get a shrimp fried rice bathed in an umami sauce? The restaurant did a really good job with this and I'm glad that I asked if they had it (in chinese). Service: It was a slow night, so we had all the attention that our table needed. Ambiance: The location is big and can support small families to larger gatherings. They have a private area that fits 30+ people, so they look like the go-to spot for parties.

Be sure to ask about the ingredients if you don't want pork or meat in a dish. We've been here before and all other dishes were great...Chinese broccoli sautéed, dumplings with shrimp, eggplant with shrimp, sautéed wide noodles with some veggies, soup dumplings, etc. finally tried the mango dessert. It was yummy.

The space is nice with good seating and a clean, comfortable setup. Tried the stir-fried chili tofu, brown rice, and noodles. The noodles were the best part--flavorful and well-cooked. Unfortunately, the tofu was quite average with not much taste, and the brown rice was a bit too dry for our liking. Parking is tough around this place .. paid parking mostly . Overall, a decent late-night option if you're nearby, but the flavors could use a boost.

The sauce was not just sweet. The sesame comes through. Deliciously crispy outside and juicy inside. Roast Pork Fried Rice 10/10! This is hands down the BEST RPF I've tried. Full of scrambled eggs, roast pork, flavor and scallions (if you like scallions- you'll love this!) Beef n Broccoli: 9/10 tender bites, in a flavorful glazey brown sauce, with perfect ratio additions of sliced onion, carrots and broccoli. BBQ Spareribs: 8.5/10 : the flavor was on point, I like mine a little on the sticky side, but these did not disappoint! My hubbs raved over them (he gave it a 10/10) especially because he was craving good spareribs. This place has take out, I dont know about delivery, but make the trip, you won't regret it. If you're in NJ and craving Hong Kong-style wonton noodle soup, head to Wonton Guy in Edison. It's a no-frills local gem tucked away in a tiny strip mall off Route 27, with a few parking spots out front and more in the back. The space is small (only 10 tables!) and nothing fancy, but the value is hard to beat. It's always busy, and after you take your first slurp of the soup, you'll get why. Service is fast, so the tables turn over quickly. I was able to grab a seat when I walked in on a Saturday evening. The menu is simple and offers 3 main options: 1.) noodle soup with toppings 2.) soup with toppings (no noodles) 3.) lo mein with toppings served with soup on the side From there, you pick your noodle type (egg, flat rice, vermicelli), as well as up to 3 toppings (wontons, dumplings, beef brisket, etc.). There are also a few side dishes like shredded pork in chili tomato sauce, deep fried fish skin, and curry fish balls. They even sell some items raw like wontons, noodles, dumplings, and sliced beef. And the best part is... the prices are very affordable! Most of the dishes are around $11-$16. My order: *Two Toppings (wonton + beef brisket) Noodle Soup [$12.75] - Where do I begin? Every single part of this meal SLAPPED. The wontons were MUMBO JUMBO and generously filled with fresh, plump shrimp that were sweet and juicy. The noodles were soft and springy. The beef brisket was SO tender with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. And the broth? Super rich, aromatic, and savory. It's made of shrimp skin, pork bone, dried flounder fish, dried shrimp, and dried monk fruit, but it doesn't taste fishy at all. Each table is stocked with condiments like vinegar, homemade chili oil, and soy sauce to customize your soup. The chili oil packs some SERIOUS HEAT, so watch out. This was hands down one of the best noodle soups I've had. I was sad when I finished it :-( *Hong Kong-style Milk Tea [$6] - I really enjoyed this! The black tea was bold and strong--almost too strong for me, but the milk balanced it out nicely. I only wish it had boba! Everything tasted authentic. Quick backstory: The owner comes from a family with GENERATIONS of experience making wontons and running noodle shops in Hong Kong. He grew up there and brought those family traditions to his own restaurants in Toronto... and now Edison. All those years of experience clearly show in his food. The broth is simmered overnight, and the wontons are freshly prepared every morning. No shortcuts here--just decades of tradition, skill, and a whole lot of love in every bowl. Ugh, I wish I lived closer because I'd be a regular. It's hard these days to find a place that REALLLLLLY delivers a memorable meal that's both tasty, reasonably priced, and served in generous portions. If you're within driving distance and debating whether it's worth the trip--DON'T! Wonton Guy is absolutely worth a visit, even if it's just once. I drove an hour to try it, and I still think about those wontons all the time... no joke LOL.

It is no-frills, but not exactly "hole in the wall" type that lack in aesthetics for upscale lavish atmosphere but the deficiency is resolved in the food quality. There is one sole functioning restroom in the whole business, ergo, stand in line and wait. We entered hungry in a lugubrious sense of deep sorrow, but exited hunger pangs fulfilled. When exiting upon completion of our lunch meal, there was a line that quickly formed outdoors waiting. Unfortunately, access to this cafe in Edison, NJ is by car only and there is a free parking lot that is shared with neighboring businesses located in a small shopping complex. The braised pork belly is so tender that you barely have to chew. Get a spoonful of that sauce to mix it with rice and oh my god, I just ate two bowls of rice in an instant. Crispy ducks is never disappointing either. Duck meat is very lean, so you need to eat with the skin, ahhh hot and crispy, and then you dip it in the plum sauce oh my god perfect.
