Food is made to order, they tell you right up front, but some people seemed to miss that. Your food takes on average 30 MINUTES TO PREP!! Pointing that out cause some people unnecessarily had an attitude with the staff over something they did warn you about. Unlike the traditionally flat, dense pancakes that we're used to, souffle pancakes are known for being tall, airy, and fluffy with the texture of a soft, bouncy cloud. They're made from beaten egg whites and sugar that are cooked slowly in low steam. Fluffy Fluffy is a dessert cafe in Edison that combines Japanese cooking techniques with Western/American flavors. They recently opened in October! It's located on Route 27 with a few parking spots up front. The menu's star of the show is the souffle pancake! They also offer all day brunch items (breakfast sandwiches, eggs benedict, egg croffle), basque cheesecake, espresso beverages, and refreshers. The cafe has a modern, trendy, and minimalist interior that is definitely "Instagrammable". They have a flower wall, neon signs, plushies, and plants. They have a decent amount of seating with outlets along the walls. I ordered the Strawberry Fluffy Pancakes (~$15). There's a bit of a wait for the pancakes, but that's because the staff whips them up fresh on the premises. It can take 15-30 minutes, and even longer if they're busy. Once I had the plate in front of me, I was ready to take a bite! And WOW. I fully understand the meaning behind why they call these pancakes FLUFFY. They have a light and airy texture that makes every bite feel like you're eating a cloud. They definitely jiggle and bounce! There's a dominant "eggy" and vanilla flavor, but the overall taste is pretty mild. It's not as sweet as it looks, so you can pair it with indulgent toppings. They included strawberries, strawberry puree, powdered sugar, and whipped cream. The strawberries were fresh, ripe, and sweet. The puree tasted like REAL fruit jam - none of that artificial sugary stuff. These pancakes are the perfect dessert if you're craving something that's light and sweet, but not overwhelming or too filling. My only complaint is the portion size and value. $15 for two small pancakes is a bit hefty... They need to supersize them for that price LOL. Been following this chain on IG for awhile, and was so excited to see it opening in Edison. Actually tried to come during the grand opening week, but was deterred by the crazy long line. Finally had a chance to check it out recently. We came right at opening on a Sat, tried the strawberry pancake, jalapeno chicken pancake, breakfast sandwich & half of a cheesecake. They were mostly delicious and lived up to the type. The pancakes are definitely fluffy and jiggly, so adorable. The cheesecake was good, but nothing special. Came to fluffy fluffy to try out their pancakes on a Wednesday night and it was pretty much empty. I ordered their original and tiramisu pancake and was surprised they came out in no time since I know it's normally a minimum 20-30mins wait time for them to make it fresh. Both pancakes were visually appealing, however it got slightly deflated by the time it was brought out to our table. I found them to be not as airy and fluffy as I would have liked, almost like there were too much egg yolk making the batter too "eggy". It didn't stack as tall and it doesn't have that cloud-like, melt in your mouth experience. The cream however, was light with a subtle touch of sweetness which helped highlight the freshness of the fruits. Overall, it's a good option if you are craving for soufflé pancake and don't want to drive very far for it. But quality is not up to par with other competitors nor do I think it's worth $15 each. On the menu it shows the crawffle is a whole croissant, but as you can see in the picture they only gave me half with barely a hand full of tater tots. With all the low reviews, I was unexpected if things would improve when I came, but given it was no longer opening week, I had to swing by to try! Honestly, wait time has only improved by a bit. We waited just over 30 minutes from ordering to receiving our pancakes (1 order of pancake to be shared amongst 3 people). Without understanding the process of how they make their pancakes, I can understand if it is labor intensive and they require time, but they neeeed to post something or have the cashier tell customers when ordering what the projected wait time is, since you will be waiting longer here than what is considered reasonable anywhere else. That being said, these pancakes were delicious! Very fluffy, delicate and light in flavor, and just a tad eggy without being overly sweet. We also ordered a chocolate frappe, which was very reminiscent of Costco's coffee frappe, without the cofffee. Some people complain abour disposable cutlery, but I think it is easier to clean up afterwards since its more self-service like dining then true sitdown dining. Compared to Mihara tea that this store once was, Fluffy Fluffy Cafe is a huge improvement! Parking is extremely limited as expected of any rt24 eatery, but not impossible to find if the other business aren't busy and even easier to find after 8pm. Taking everything into account, while the pancakes itself were delicious, the unexpectedly long wait and the NYC prices (almost $17 for 1 serving of pancakes is a little crazy to me... ) I would still have to give this place 3 stars. Worth trying for sure, but will need to work a bit harder to get return customers. read more

When I finally received it I was very disappointed My eggs lweren't fully cooked and neither was any of the pancakes on either order. I visited this cafe when it was their grand opening. Since the line was short, it didn't take long to place my order but I ended up waiting almost an hour for my pancake. The pancake was alright at best and nothing special. I ordered the Nutella Banana souffle pancake, I didn't find it too sweet but I also didn't pour all the chocolate syrup on the pancake. The texture of the pancake was indeed fluffy and delicate. Overall, I don't think I will be returning back to this cafe because the wait for the pancake was way too long for something that I find just alright. The only other Japanese soufflé pancake place i know of in the area outside of the city is in princeton, so i was excited when fluffy fluffy opened in edison! I was able to find a spot in the small parking lot on an early Friday evening, but there are limited spots as the lot is shared by other places as well. You order at the counter and choose a seat in the seating area. I will say that the prices of everything are a bit high, but it seems that is the trend with all japanese soufflé pancake places. The cafe was pretty empty when we went so the food came out relatively quickly. I was disappointed to find that the pancakes were served on disposable plates with plastic forks and knives. The tiktoks and posts on social media we had seen about the place all showed actual plates and silverware so that's what we were expecting. Nonetheless, the pancakes themselves were beautiful and fluffy. I got the classic pancakes and my friend got the tiramisu ones. We also ordered the matcha espresso and blueberry latte. I wish they left the matcha espresso unmixed as it was an unsightly greenish brown color but it was a pleasant combination of matcha and coffee. The blueberry latte was interestingly just milk and some kind of blueberry syrup/flavor without any espresso. In terms of the pancakes, I was happy with mine but at the conclusion of our meal, my friend's stomach hurt severely and she had to rush to the bathroom. My sister-in-law wanted to go here during the grand opening. I always mention that with grand opening there always going to be a long wait or something never goes right. I don't think a lot of people know that it's a Japanese Souffle. The soufflé's signature fluffy and airy texture is a low and slow cooking process over gentle heat to ensure the inside cooks evenly without burning the exterior. If they cook it in high heat will cause the outside of the soufflé to brown or burn quickly, while the thick interior remains raw or undercooked. My son wanted to cut the pancakes before I even took the picture. I ordered the Tiramisu and Cookies & Cream Fluffy Pancakes. Both pancakes were light, soft, and fluffy. To me, the pancake reminds me of the egg waffles (the once with the circles). For the Tiramisu, I like the side espresso sauce so that you can dip whatever amount to your liking. The berries were fresh. Cookies & Cream had a great amount of Oreos on top and paired so well with the ice cream. Original Cheesecake - Its light, creamy, rich flavor, and gentle sweetness. Drinks: Matcha Latte Hot - is excellent Mango Latte - It was very delicious Matcha Espresso - My father-in-law in enjoyed it Mango Refresher - My son loved it. Came here for the grand opening and was surprised to know there were so many deals happening! We got a free drink with a purchase of a pancake and the strawberry matcha was actually pretty solid! I'm always really skeptical of getting matcha at places I haven't seen reviews/picturee for on Yelp haha so I didn't know what to expect but I enjoyed my matcha! The strawberry and matcha pancakes were our top picks out of all the options - super light and fluffy with a generous amount of cream. They have parking (which is always a big plus for me), and the owner is so welcoming. We stopped by during a blizzard, and she didn't rush us at all -- she made us feel completely comfortable. Came here on the 2nd day of grand opening 10/11 and we were the first 16-20 people so we were in the front. We were only able to have a choice of socks or a keychain even though the instagram post shows a T-shirt, cap and tote bag. Apparently it was only for the first 3 people which was kind of deceiving. You need to order the food before sitting down so the line was out the door & it wasn't ideal that it was raining too. There was a long line behind us that wrapped the parking lot. There isn't much parking in the lot as its off of route 27. We received drinks fast and we got 3/5 orders quick. It took forever to get the last 2 entrees that the 3 other people in my group finished before we could get the food. The pancakes were soft but it wasnt anything special. Congrats to the owner(s)! Finally had a chance to try out the Fluffy Pancake in Edison. Not only the spacious environment but quick and wonderful service. I guess all the previous critiques have all been resolved, long line at the door or waiting 20+ long minutes after ordering, all gone in the past. I guess the owners must have worked out all the grand opening mishaps because I got my Signature Pancakes within 10 mins after ordering. Definitely recommend to try. Waited on line outside for 2+ hours just to place my order. Not sure who's in charge of the kitchen but it's a mess. I noticed people who placed their order after me got their food before me. After complaining, I got my food within minutes after waiting over an hour. However, I noticed a gentleman 4 people ahead of me didn't get his order yet. I had the smoked salmon sandwich which was comprised of a few sad pieces of lettuce, the smallest slice of smoked salmon and a lot of sauce between two pancakes. Not worth $15. read more

No mango cheesecake. No matcha cheesecake. No smoked salmon either. I was disappointed 3) the Croffle pissed me off. It's just a butter croissant you get from Costco, which has been pressed in a waffle maker! This is a rip off! 4) the restaurant opened at 11am. By 12:30pm, they told us they ran out of smoked salmon and so we ordered bacon instead. They gave very little bacon for a 15$ sandwich 5) I paid 15% tip, that was 11$ and yet I had to go get my own spoons, forks and knives. Everything is self service here. You have to go get your own drinks too. Only the pancakes were brought to the table. No napkins or cutlery. People were cleaning their own tables 6) I ordered standard cheesecake. It looked nothing like the online pictures. It wasn't a burnt basque cheesecake. It was just baked or golden on top. Also, much smaller than the picture online. It was a Temu cheesecake. 7) It took one hour to get my food. Long wait times. The only thing special about this place was the thick Japanese pancake. It is a thicker softer cake type pancake. That is a novelty. Then, they add eggs, dressing, fruits and salads to it. The tater tots were from a frozen bag, not homemade fries. Unfortunately, it falls into my 'try once and never go back again' list of restaurants. Giving 2 stars, only because the eggs Benedict and pancakes were nice. I'm angry with the croissant croffle rip off. I paid 93$ in total, I don't think it was worth that much money. I ordered four entrees, 2 drinks and a half cheesecake, plus 15% tip. read more
