It's been a week and I'm still thinking about the Brioche Custard - Cream. It's a pillowy doughnut, filled with a vanilla bean custard and has a croissant top. I didn't intend to eat the whole thing, but I did. Sorry, not sorry! I also ordered the big coconut. It's a tender brioche bun that is long and very lightly sweet. It was excellent! I sampled the Matcha tiramisu and was wowed by it. I got a Jasmine latte and also loved it. Everything I tried was fantastic. I plan to return soon. The person that helped me was so kind and patient. The store is very organized and has a great vibe. It's an Asian bakery, that also serves tea and coffee. Everything is individually wrapped, and you bring what you want to purchase up to the counter. Their desserts are so fresh and different. I'm typically not a fan of Asian desserts, but these were best in class.

eautiful and whimsical bakery, with quite a few locations throughout New Jersey, this place is the ultimate go to for your sweet tooth! I tried a whole variety pastries, including the ones with apple pie filling, Matcha, they even have concha's with googly eyes for Halloween! I tried the ice Thai tea, and it was both sweet and spicy, super delicious... I will be back to order a cake because they look so beautiful! & the staff is super friendly and helpful !

This is such a cute little spot! They have a large array of pastries from cakes to croissants & donuts! I highly recommend the "big coconut " pastry! Especially for breakfast. It's not super sweet but it's flavorful & satisfying! They also have fantastic cookies and egg pastries. The drink menu is eclectic as well! I love the iced tea & today I had a "salted cheese coffee" it is a MUST TRY for any foodie in the area! I will absolutely be back... a bit too often The cashier made fantastic suggestions & the pastries I named in this review are just the TIP of the iceberg so GO!

Lovely bakery! Staff friendly and helpful! Wide selection of sweet and savory baked goods. Cakes were adorably decorated. Will certainly remember them next time I have to purchase for an occasion. Plentiful parking as well. Their matcha croissant and almond crossiant are my new favorites- light airy and not too sweet!

Love the one at Edison. So glad another one opened! Highly recommended. Great bread and their cake is fantastic. Seasonal items, like mango jelly and the moon cake is must try. Don't forget to order a drink. To me, it's better than the Paris Baguette in the area.

Passion fruit lemonade with 50% sugar! So refreshing!

My family had been waiting a long time for this place to open and it did not disappoint! It's right next to our favorite sushi spot Dan Zai ,so it's a must stop to pick up treats before heading home. It's a smaller sized store ,but has the same variety of everything compared to their other locations. The passion fruit lemonade was SO GOOD! The 50% sugar was just right! Their cakes remind me of Paris Baguette and this is closer to home for me, so I'll be trying that out in the future. So glad to have them in the area!

    Mooncake gift box-$40 It's good!

I'm really glad they opened up another location way closer to my house. I used to go to the one in Edison and I enjoy a lot of their breads and pastries! I also buy the whole black forest cake for birthdays, it's always fresh, soo good because it isn't too sweet! I went to the Green Brook soft opening on 8/24. The place is really small compared to the one in Edison, so it felt cramped inside even though there were only like 6-8 of us inside the store at that time. I bought the almond croissant which is my favorite but I was disappointed because it didn't taste as good as the one from Edison, I'm not sure why. I felt like the filling inside lacked flavor and all I can taste was the sugar. I also ordered the vietnamese coffee bubble tea and it tasted nothing like coffee at all. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. I also came back here for the whole set of their limited time mooncake for $40 and it did not disappoint! Haven't had their cakes here yet, so hopefully it tastes the same as the one in Edison.

Hi, are any of your items gluten free?

From what I can remember hearing from one of the staff, they don't have anything gluten free. Maybe call the store to confirm.

Our first time at an Asian bakery since moving to Jersey! I funny enough heard about this in…read morepassing and not long after, spotted this place in the same shopping center as the 99 Ranch in Edison and I made a pit stop there (hence no drinks) before going on a grocery run. It was at night on a Saturday so many of the shelves were empty but they still had a few things left. Sunmerry appears to be a chain but one that I have never visited before until now so I can't really comment on what they have, but I did manage to grab: MATCHA CLOUD DONUT - This reminded me vaguely of the im donut donuts I tried in NYC. Very soft and pillowy and filled to the brim with a lightly sweet, matcha filling. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about this. RED BEAN MATCHA BAGEL - it's a matcha dough with red bean filling BUT the filling doesn't go all the way around. It goes maybe 65% so if you're splitting this with someone like I did, fingers crossed you both get a decent amount. The bagel was soft and in a bagel shape but it lacked the chew of a bagel. The filling was nice and different but the matcha taste was subtle - if that. Overall, liked the idea, but I wanted more of a bagel chew than what I got and to taste the matcha better. Maybe even have a more even share of the red bean. COFFEE BRIOCHE LOAF - my husband liked this one! Which is good because I got it for him. This is quite good. Soft, lightly sweet with a coffee top. We ate this maybe 12 hours after and much of the top layer had "melted" and gotten on the cellophane but it was still delicious. Perfection. I definitely scraped off the coffee bits from the cellophane so it didn't go to waste. PINEAPPLE BUN W/ MILK - I grabbed this one thinking there was a filling inside and there wasn't. I don't know if the bun was placed in the wrong location or the name is telling me the bun isn't vegan but it's a good pineapple bun but without anything inside, it was a tad dry. Maybe it needs a pat of butter like they do in HK. MELON PAN - I haven't had this in a good long while so I got it for fun. It's smaller than the pineapple bun and the topping is a little sweeter - I remember crunching on sugar crystals. It's not bad but also not filled so it's a tiny bit on the dry side. The place has tables to the side where you can enjoy your goodies. I didn't stay too long but they definitely serve drinks and delicious cakes as well. The staff were nice and the place seemed on the dim side. Fingers crossed I can go back during the day to get a better idea of what they have! In the meantime, this is a good place for an Asian bakery fix. They do list out ingredients under the names of their baked goods so that's awesome! From what I could see, their baked goodies are likely not vegan or gluten-free friendly, though...

They also offer tea, coffee, and refreshing fruit drinks in the summer. My go-to items are the almond croissant and the coconut buns, but the donuts are flaky and tasty too. They even have a membership program that gives you dollars off your purchases--definitely worth joining if you come often. Overall, if you're looking for a bakery to try, this place is absolutely worth a visit. There's plenty of parking and a few tables where you can sit, relax, and enjoy your treats.

They have many options to choose from that are ready to go and will most likely find something for everyone. I have been going to this bakery since I was a teen and I can positively say that the service is always top notch. All the staff is very helpful, tolerant, and will cater to customers' needs to the best of their abilities. They have made all my cakes look awesome whenever I've asked for writing on them. The way the cake gets decorated is very satisfying. I can recall the bakery being so busy I would have to wait at least 5-10 minutes before getting service but these days with other great options, the business at this bakery has unfortunately gone down. This has lead them to have less baked goods out and it makes the bakery look a bit empty. Nevertheless, you are likely to find what you're looking for. I hope to see this bakery stay in business for long time, as I have seen many other inde shut down in the recent years. This will remain my go to bakery, specifically when I need a cake in a pinch.

New to the area but we've been invited to two birthday parties where they purchased the birthday…read morecake from here. One of my kids' birthdays is coming up so I decided to keep that going. I haven't tried too many cakes in the area so I can't truly compare to give it a full 5 star rating BUT the comments I hear a lot of is they use fresh fruit in their cakes. I usually get birthday cakes from Asian bakeries where fresh fruit is expected so that was an interesting comment to make from my POV. The fruit birthday cakes I've had from here are pretty good. Not too sweet and the most interesting fruit fillings I've had in cake - banana! Among other fruits. The cake isn't as light/airy as I'm used to but not bad at all. The buttercream is on the sweeter side for me but okay if you eat it with the cake and don't leave it until the end. It's not a terribly thick layer. But the cakes were super colorful and it's a lot of food coloring with how saturated the colors are. Your mouth and tongue will be stained if you're not careful. Having said that, I ordered an Oreo cake because that's why my kid wants. BUT I did request that instead of buttercream on the outside, it'll be whipped cream. Still buttercream on the inside though. I'll update this review after the party as it hasn't happened yet. This is a shop that sort of takes you back when you walk in. It's located in a corner shopping center of sorts and they have a shared parking lot so no need to hunt for parking. It has a nostalgic feel with display cases along much of the length, refrigerated sections for drinks (some were Asian which surprised me) and ice cream cake. Plus a wall of candles and birthday cake decorations because they do take a lot of orders for special occasions. No extra frills and nothing for decor's sake. There was a steady line when I went on Sunday morning. Two doors, one designed to be the entrance and the other the exit (but there isn't a police so use whichever door, but the line starts at the entrance door). As you walk up to the counter, someone will help you out. They've got all sorts of things from pastries to cookies, cakes, cupcakes, cannoli's, pies... even a tres leches section that was woefully empty. The only thing is for some odd reason, there are signs of what the items were, but absolutely no prices were posted in the display cases. At least none that I was aware of. I was passed onto the manager to take my order. It took a little time because I'm pretty sure she also decorates cakes and some people were waiting on them but I eventually got my order in. A 9" Oreo cake (for up to 16 people) with whipped cream exterior and birthday message is about $75. I added on a tres leches on a whim - they sold out early but a new batch just finished so I got one straight from the kitchen - was roughly $10. Receipts are old school, orders taken on a paper pad with a carbon copy given to you. I've had a number of tres leches cakes before and this is one of a kind! Deliciously moist, whipped topping - and the cake is halved. In between, they put fruit in there! Plus a maraschino cherry on top and cinnamon dusted over it. It was nowhere near "too sweet" and I rather enjoyed it. A lot. In fact, I'm thinking of calling in to see if I can get some for the party for the adults. My picky daughter loved it. Overall, I have a pretty good impression of this bakery and I'm looking to trying more items over time.
