Admittedly, I'm a bit spoiled having grown up in Southern NYS where independent bakeries of all types were seemingly on every corner. Central Jersey has some independent shops but it's largely Wegmans and ShopRite wearing the baker's apron. In that dessert desert we now have Paris Baguette filling the void. Their cakes and pastries are very good... they should be as they are as the Parisians like to say... hors de prix. In a desert, the thirsty can't be too choosy. Five stars for being there. read more

Well- we usually come in to a nice and varied selection of pastries, cakes, doughnuts etc but today was different. It really shouldn't be different because it's 3:30 pm on a Thursday, just approaching tea time. Firstly, the selection was extremely limited - out of most things, secondly the trays were all out and the old ones had piled up, and lastly the flor was fiiilthy. There were three employees in the store. Under new management? No inventory? Disinterest amongst the employees? Unsure. While the food was slightly stale, but still tasty enough, the experience we had come to enjoy was sub par. read more

It's always clean, always stocked, and the customer service (the Asian guy especially) is always so nice and kind. I haven't had anything bad here. I wish I lived closer to this bakery/cafe. They have an astonishing array of pastries and breads. I came here when I was visiting Jersey and ohhh mannn I fell in love. The man stocking the serve yourself pastry shelves was very knowledgeable of all the products. There were no labels out yet because I arrived early and they were still stocking, so i had lots of questions. They are a little pricey here though I must say $$. Pretty upscale quality food though, so I guess it is worth it in the end. Inside is pretty spacious with a good amount of seating. There is not too much decor, it was pretty modern in here. I would come back when I am in town and I would recommend dropping in and trying a delicious pastry or 2 ! :) read more

Have never ranked Paris baguettes 2 stars . This is probably the first location .. I'm always a fan of this business but this location was just below par . We went around 7 pm .. shop closes 8 pm but they almost had nothing in the shop. They just had some/ few cakes slices and that's about it . Indoor seating was good . Ambience was ok. Service was also just above average . We came in and saw they're was nothing left - no Nutella cream items , not much of customized cakes , no donut (only a couple left) and whatever was left out wasn't that fresh . We got cream cheese donut and it wasn't good at all. Not fresh and it tasted bad . Regular donuts were ok but nothing much left out . We got some cake slices and they were good. The 2 stars is just for the cake slices . Rainbow cake was good . Apart from cake slices , nothing much to tell about this location . Good parking facilities . I bought a chicken Caesar wrap and a croissant donut at this liston before heading to my event 2 weeks ago. Both were delicious. I also liked that the wrap had enough chicken in it. Who wants to pay for air! I could tell this location was popular because it was bustling with people. The pastries and savories in the displays were calling to me but I grabbed what I needed, paid and left. The staff were friendly and quick with my order. I have not had any issues at other Paris Baguette locations, but the staff here are not very friendly or helpful. A cake I purchased was $49.99 on the display, but I was charged $51.99. I asked one of the employees about the pricing, but they only apologized for displaying the incorrect price with a "too bad" attitude - no offer to match what THEY incorrectly displayed. I know $2 is not anything to be upset over, but the way they made it seem like I was at fault for even asking put me off. As for the cake itself, it was definitely not worth how much I paid for it. The icing basically peeled off entirely when we took off the plastic covering the side (see pic). We did our best to smooth it out... Sorry, I will not be returning. read more

I love that they box your pastries for a bit of extra elegance in making sure they arrive safely. Pastries are ~$3.50-$5 and add up quickly. Cakes are a statement for any event. The Staff: They do not greet you when you come into the bakery. They also do not thank you after you make a purchase. The staff could smile a little more and at least act like they enjoy their job here. Items: They do not have a lot of items at this location and there are not many choices to choose from. It looks like this place is limited to a certain number of items as it is a smaller bakery. The pricing is normal from $3.00 and up depending on what items you want to purchase. I'd never been in a Paris Baguette before, this was a spontaneous decision when visiting my family for the holidays. My toddler was smitten at the sight of those cases full of treats (which were eye level for her... well played, PB). I felt like a newb picking items out, it's a bit awkward to stand there and take time deciding. There isn't a lot of elbow room if the next customer is in a hurry. Worried I was holding up a line, I grabbed 5 or 6 items that looked tasty and all were packaged with care by the friendly staff at checkout. Then I felt like a hero bringing a box full of fancy and fresh pastries to the fam! A small anecdote from this visit that made me smile: a customer with a stroller was provided with a box that had a handle. It was unprompted and quite considerate, an attention to detail some would not notice. Anyway.... TLDR: Get the mochi donuts. Get the pain au chocolate. The savory pastries are packed with flavor and the sweeter ones aren't dense or overly sweet. Everything is light and flavorful. Service: you use a tray to grab the pastries you'd like and the head up to the counter to pay. Everyone is always kind. Ambiance: there are multiple of Paris Baguette and this one on chimney rock road is the smallest. They tables and very close to together and don't have much room. Used to love coming here but the atmosphere has changed, the new employees are not friendly whatsoever, seem annoyed when you ask questions. Also, shelves are empty in the middle of the day now, and don't expect any favors when you ask an employee about it. Was there 2 days ago and 2 young female employees seemed like they hated being here. No smiles, no politeness. Will not be going back unfortunately. The one in Edison is so much better, they have an endless supply of everything, and employees are super friendly. Also- the refrigerators at this location need fixing, they are so loud that it makes dining in very unpleasant when you have to talk loudly to have a conversation. Plus, they blast the music over that noise which makes it worse. Do not recommend. Last thing- one day we went right before closing. We sat in the parking lot to eat our pastries and watched the employees dump everything that was left over all in the trash. And there were quite a bit that day. Couldn't they offer them to last customers or donate them? Was sad to see all that going to waste. read more

LOL I knew I wasn't going to have lunch and I didn't have breakfast so I soad "Hey, why not" to the croissant wrapped hot dog. I wish it was heated up but I ate it anyway. Entered this store wanting to buy a few pastries to treat myself for mothers day weekend... let with 8 delicious bites, 2 drinks (but 42 dollars poorer). And that was me trying to be conservative. Everything looks to beautiful not to try, so it was hard to resist gathering up all the varieties with the tons onto the tray. Most things were priced between 3-5 dollars, and had a good selection of both sweet and savory. Mochi donuts sell out quick, but we grabbed some blood orange flavored ones and they were amazing... the first to disappear in our tummies. Next were the triple tarts - egg, cheese, and pastal de natas - all uniquely delicious in their own ways. We also ate crab croquettes, curry croquettes and a ham cheese croissant... which were enjoyable but probably better when warm. Topped it off with a strawberry creme... tiny but powerful with yumminess. I would love to come back and try literally everything... but only for special occasions due to the price tag. Can you believe the national chain would advertise all over social media to "come in" and receive your free pastry with any purchase, only to find out the manager of the location wasn't prepared for the event by pre- ordering enough croissants to accommodate his loyal reward customers through the day, let alone half the day of the promotion. When I asked to choose another pastry of equal value he said, "No, we don't do that." I said, "how about a free coffee? "No. Sorry." The sales associate helping me, was left with his mouth agape at his manager's lack of customer service. I was given no credit for a future visit, nothing. I won't be returning to that store or any Paris Baguette because of the way the situation was handled. Not worth the trip. read more

Terrible. Ordered an iced milk coffee and it was horrible. Paris baguette has a set premade iced milk coffee with espresso which gives it the rich and creamy flavor. But this location doesn't even have the drink but has it on their menu. The girl just mixed iced coffee with half and half. I could've done that myself on the self-service bar and paid less and ordered a regular iced coffee. If you don't have the core menu available take it off the menu screen or let the customer know it's just black coffee with half and half. TERRIBLE. read more

We came to this location with high hopes. It was new and clean and the presentation of their store looks wonderful. Nowhere near as much selection as their Edison counterpart but ok for the size of this location. The pastries are wonderfully displayed and tasted as good as they look. We tried the cheese tart, a strawberry pastry and a royal pudding. All delicious. Our only complaint here is that when the manager packaged it to-go, they kinda squished everything. Kinda ruined the "pretty"aspect of it all. Unfortunately the "bubble tea" was the worst bubble tea me and my wife have ever had. What we got was unsweetened iced tea with ice and whole milk. The tapioca pearls thrown into the bottom were hard and not chewy. Not a big deal but they totally gave us a regular straw and not the bigger one used for bubble teas which kinda gave us a red flag. Maybe the employee didn't know how to make it properly? Maybe the ingredients weren't prepared properly? Perhaps they've never had a proper bubble tea before? The pastries here are delicious! The croissants are light and airy with a beautiful golden shine on top. We've tried the big croissants in plain, chocolate, and almond, and the little croissants in plain and garlic. All are delightful! I was not sure I would like a garlic croissant but I did. It's not super-garlicky the way garlic bread in a pizzeria would be. It's a bit sweet with a gentle touch of garlic. My favorite pastry is the little croissant sliced with creme anglaise and strawberries. The strawberries were flavorful and sweet and the creme anglaise was rich and only slightly sweet, allowing the strawberry flavor to take the spotlight. The pork sausage sandwich was very good with a nice swizzle of ketchup on top. It was just the right size for a light meal. Coffee is good here and the self serve milk/sugar station was clean and well stocked. I came here around 6:30 pm on a Tuesday and many of the pastries were sold out. The two young ladies at the checkout were polite and efficient in getting my coffee and boxing up my pastries to go. I think the prices are very good and my big box of pastries, coffee, and sausage sandwich came to $26.00. I was a bit disappointed in the ambiance. It was completely clean but didn't really have any coziness or style. The Edison Paris Baguette has a lot more flair with the lighting and decor. I plan to come back here regularly. read more

The gentleman who rang me up had stains all over his sleeves that did not look like they were from freshly baking things. The counters and tables were dirty and the floor was gross. Unsure if all Paris Baguette stores follows the same recipe when making their cakes and frosting but this store lacks sugar in their cake frostings. I recently tried the Mixed Berry Soft Cream Cake at this Paris Baguette location, and it left me a bit disappointed. The frosting seemed to lack sweetness, not just in the large cake but also in other slices (diff flavors) I tried. It's unfortunate that the sweetness was missing, making the overall experience less enjoyable. Will continue to purchase at local Italian bakeries for my cake cravings instead. However, I'll still visit for their other items like breads, salads, croquettes, and custard cups, as the place is clean, and the staff is consistently friendly. read more

I have to say I love the pastries here however this location has gone downhill since opening. Its not as clean anymore the trays you use are sometimes dirty. The display glass doesn't look wiped down, sticky or crumbs everywhere. Desserts left uncovered. 100's of people breathing on your uncovered pastries. Not all but some are uncovered. Basically it looks like they don't do much tidying up throughout the day. Also you have the manager/owner sitting there in the dining area watching your every move. He uses the dining area as an office which is a complete turn off to me when I walk in there and see that. Papers and computer everywhere. Almost makes me not want to go in there. That's not what you want to see when you go in there. That kinda stuff needs to be in the back. Its just sloppy. And to be honest if he is sitting right there he should see how dirty things are and tidy up. Hopefully they make some needed changes because I would rather drive to the Edison Paris Baguette just because it appears much better taken care of and they have hella more variety! read more

This is my favorite coffee shop near me. They have AMAZING pastries especially the mochi donuts, they are to die for. The croissants and flaky and delicious, and the powdered donuts and magnificent! Nothing here will disappoint you, but they run out of things as the day progresses so get there early as possible! The coffee is good, lattes are great. However, I would skip the Frappes. It just doesn't taste amazing and leaves a weird taste in your mouth. Smoothies are also really nice. I've never been disappointed with my normal vanilla latte. The cakes they have there look amazing and are decorated nicely. Never had them, but look great. Staff have been friendly every time I've been, never an issue. The owner is very nice and accommodating. I wouldn't skip this gem. read more

A bright airy bakery with delicious pastries fresh cream cakes and sandwiches. Have tried all their cakes and loved their chocolate flavored cakes. The fresh cream cakes are good . Blueberry and chocolate is what we tried and both were delicious. This is a perfect example of how a pastry / cake shop should be decorated . Even before you sample the food you are sold on the place as the ambiance and presenting is spot on . Welcoming, fragrant , beautifully organized with sweet and savory pastries in different sections . Makes it easy and tempting for customers to look around and probably over indulge which is a win for the bakery. The pastries are delectable. We got a loaf of the pound cake as we like it a lot, which was labeled Honey castella, and the lady there clarified that it was similar to pound cake. The cake was too eggy and inedible that we trashed it. This was the only negative which I can ignore , considering everything else was above par . I have tried their large cakes and liked both flavors ( green tea blueberry cake , and chocolate chiffon ) This place is a clear winner for cake and pastry lovers. read more

It was delicious. The croissant bread was flaky and soft and had great texture and flavor. Happy Paris Baguette is expanding. We have been enjoying Paris baguette for a while. There a bunch of them in SoCal. After moving to nj we used to visit the location in Edison. This place is conveniently located off the 22 near a bunch of restaurants and has ample parking. Pastry quality is better than the average bakery. Prices are a little higher but reasonable. They also serve drinks which are really good. I'll try a cake from this location later as their cakes are usually pretty good too. read more
