I went here again and it didn't disappoint me. Another bday, another brunch. Eden was great, she was attentive and friendly. The place is big, very crowded but comfortable. I ll be back soon . The food is great for a brunch.

All the Original Pancake Houses have impressed me, but this one feels very modern and cool inside. There's a good-sized parking lot and the employees are very friendly. The menu has a lot of options, and the pictures help sell some of their items, as it tempted me to get the California omelet. The server warned me it was like 4-5 eggs and baked so it would take some time, so oh man, was it a sizeable bundle of eggs and toppings. It's egg-filled and topped with avocado, bacon, tomato, and sour cream. It is enough to hold you over past lunch and then some. And it comes with an adorable tiny stack of pancakes which were not needed but much appreciated. The Dutch Baby is also a pretty special dish. It's pancake-like, but thin and bowl-shaped, but the powered sugar, butter, and a squeeze of lemon is all the topping you need (syrup would be too much.) The medium roast coffee is pretty robust, and the booths are spacious. It's more upscale than a diner, but it's still good dishes at reasonable prices.

    Coconut pancakes - so delicious

Had to shout out the service really quick. For both visits I had amazing waitresses. This past visit, our waitress gave us to go cups of the drinks we were drinking! I have never experienced that north of PA, and as someone who loves her beverages, this won a lot of points with me. The coconut pancakes are delicious and my mom's favorite. I am more of a savory lover and the ham and scram burrito really does it for me, I want to try other things on the menu but I enjoy this one so much!

Birthday breakfast at the Original Pancake House! Love Dutch Baby pancake with lemon! Latte was yum!!

My absolute favorite breakfast restaurant in New Jersey. Every item is made perfectly delicious. They provide great service from every waiter whether you are at the bar or seated at a table. You will definitely leave satisfied regardless of what you order. Perfect setting and decorations to coordinate with the season and holidays. Highly recommend for breakfast dates.

I finally got to try this place on an early Friday afternoon. I had their Strawberry Banana and Cream waffle and it was so delicious. The waffle was made perfectly and I love the combo of strawberries and bananas on top. They put just enough cream and it was super light, not overly sweet. The server was nice and checked in to make sure we were enjoying the food. I liked the music that they were playing throughout the restaurant. I always prefer booth seating and we were able to get seated after waiting about 5 minutes. It was a full house so I see why the parking lot is always busy. I'm looking forward to going back and trying other food on the menu!

Stopped in for a quick breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Stopping in on a busy weekend morning I was a little worried that there might have been a long wait. As soon as we walked in we were given a table immediately. Asked the waitress what was popular and after a few minutes we decided what we wanted. The Dutch pancake was excellent, the eggs were good and not over cooked. The home fries were seasoned extremely well & the bacon was delicious.

We had the pleasure of getting Conner as our waiter and he was a blast. Extremely attentive to our needs and made sure we felt comfortable. This was our first time coming here and it will not be the last! The decor, the cleanliness and the music were amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. I recommend the flapjacks and the strawberry orange juice. The omelets were okay a little too fluffy for my liking but definitely something to try.

Wow!! The fluffiest eggs I have ever had...at the OG pancake house!! I heard so many good things about this spot. On a Saturday morning there was already a lot of people and roughly a 20 min wait. Luckily the inside was spacious, and they were able to accommodate us even after we missed our beeper lol... Service was superb- so fast and friendly. I recommend getting the omelette if you're a savory person, and my friend enjoyed her unique pancakes too :) Coffee was also delicious, I would come back again. I can see why there's always a line out the door!

Another great pick by me! lol. This spot was fantastic. Service was decent but don't sit under the windows in the sun, it can get hot. Other than that, the food was great. Crispy bacon, tasty pancakes and flapjacks. We had a great breakfast here. I feel like we will be back at some point.

    Huevo rancheros (1/2 the order)

After driving for 4 hours, I had worked up an appetite so my family and I stopped by this breakfast spot. I am not sure if there was an event nearby which brought more people in, but it was PACKED! We put our name down and waited about 45 minutes - there were people inside and outside waiting as well. We were seated at a table by the windows, so getting some natural lighting was good. The menu has pictures which was nice to help visualize what you'd be getting. I wasn't in the mood for a traditional breakfast (bacon, eggs, potatoes, etc.) so I picked the huevos rancheros. I liked the toppings the crispy tortillas came with, but the pico de galle had far too many onions. After picking out most of them, there was close to nothing left. I wish it was topped with more beans rather than a thin spread. The egg was cooked well, and the salsa verde was really.good. Both the salsa verde and the pice de galle were a tad bit spicy. My plate came with the option to add a stack of pancakes for $1.25. I instead added challah French toast for about $4 more. The French toast was really tasty, but the stack of pancakes my brother ordered were extremely cute, light, and also yummy. I was also able to try the avocado toast. The toast was a but burnt, but there was a lot of guacamole, with a bold taste. The inside is big and gives the feel of luxury without paying the price of luxury. Our waitress was kind, brought us everything we needed, and checked in on us periodically.

Lauren. Very good waitress. Will explain to you the entire menu.
    Mike J.

Decided to stop by and pick up breakfast to go. Never knew you could not here. You have to order it. It has to be brought to the table as usual and they bring you to go containers. Possibly they want you to see your food before its packed. So no complaints. Possibly it's not listed as a take out place. But whatever the reason. I had to have me some Original Pancake House today. But wanted it for home to enjoy in front the TV for an odd reason. And the fruit crepes with strawberry syrup is a must have. Ordered the Ham n Scram Burrito. Diced ham, potatoes, onions, peppers, eggs. and cheese melted in a tortilla. This is a very delicious sandwich. I actually asked for soft eggs and they made it perfect. It came with a green hot sauce. That I dipped the sandwich in. It is a really good hot that makes it taste even better. This place hasn't failed me yet.

Top 3 Huevos Rancheros I've ever had. So Fresh

FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC! Driving up the NJ turnpike we figured we would get off an exit and grab a bite to eat somewhere near the exit... well I'm glad we picked exit 10 and the Original Pancake House. Driving up, I was expecting to enter an old, Denny's/diner type place...but the inside is amazing. So nice, loved the music (yeah it was above average volume - see other reviews- but it was great!) We were jamming as we ordered, waited, and ate. It drowns out the sound of everyone else's conversation and it was great, don't lower the volume, ever. The place has a vibe to it, the service was fantastic..Rich, our server, was a Rockstar! Owner/manager (not sure) could not have been friendlier, great conversation and hospitality. The host sat us quickly, and there was a crowd that just kept coming and going. They turn over tables, seat people, and serve you quickly, food was hot, and amazing. I was blown away by the menu, I wanted to order everything, but I had to go with my all-time favorite...Huevos Rancheros! Now their version may not be traditional but it was super and super fresh. I wanted more. I also think next time I'll get extra salda Verde and an extra egg, but man was it delicious! Reminded me of an excellent Huevos Rancheros I had in California a few years ago, so so fresh. I also got a side of banana pancakes covered in chopped pecans with the banana sauce; WOW! I was ready for a nap. Wife got the Dutch baby apple. It was enormous, hot, and delicious... she barely put a dent in it... but I ate some later with vanilla ice cream (pro tip, lol). We did sample the regular pancake and my goodness! I'm not a big pancake guy (egg man) but I'd order a small side of them every time. I cannot wait to go back. It's on our way to my in-laws, so we will be blocking out some time for a breakfast stop next time we had north. If you're in the area, it's 100% worth the stop. Thank me later.

A few logistical tips: while there is street parking, a public lot is conveniently located right across the street. The dining room is quite intimate with only about ten tables, and since they don't seem to take reservations, I recommend arriving early or being prepared for a wait. If you don't want to wait, they do offer takeout! Another suggestion is to browse their menu online before you arrive, the selection is extensive! We showed up without a game plan and needed several minutes just to decide because there were so many tempting choices! Luckily, our waiter was incredibly patient and helpful, answering every question we had. Once we decided, the real fun began. Every single item, and I'm not exaggerating, was phenomenal! We started with the fresh squeezed orange juice, which was sweet and perfectly portioned, along with a vanilla latte and a cappuccino. Both were classic, rich, and creamy. For the main course, we chose the "Chill + Qill It" Chilaquiles, which featured traditional corn tortillas topped with cotija cheese, avocado, pink sour cream, eggs, and your choice of protein. We also tried the Parkside Classic Sliders; the chicken was exceptionally crispy yet tender and juicy, served with eggs on a brioche bun. We opted to upgrade to the truffle fries, which were delicious! Although our sliders accidentally came with pickles, the staff was so kind and immediately offered to remake the dish or swap out the bun. Finally, we had the Grilled Chicken Egg Ranchero. It was like a breakfast version of nachos, loaded with beans, peppers, onions, an egg, those same crispy tortillas, and more of that signature pink cream! We couldn't leave without satisfying our sweet tooth, so we finished with the Cinnamon Roll French Toast. It tasted exactly like a fresh cinnamon roll, the glaze was incredible, and the bread was perfectly crisp on the outside while remaining fluffy inside. I honestly cannot wait to go back and work my way through the rest of the kitchen's creations. This restaurant is a absolute must-visit for their unique combinations and superb flavors!

When everything is a five, it gets harder to separate the truly elite places, the hometown heroes, and the restaurants worth planning a trip around. Harold's lands for me as a very solid three-point-something, graciously rounded to four because they have a Marine Corps flag hung in reception. The food was good, the portions were whatever you make it, and the whole place has novelty value without feeling like a total gimmick. The sandwiches are large enough to satisfy a hungry, medium-sized guy without completely defeating him. And honestly, on a menu full of meat, my favorite thing may have been the healthy pickled salad/pickle bar situation -- bright, crunchy, and a great counterbalance to the heavier deli classics. My biggest knock was the service atmosphere. There seemed to be an army of staff, but not much interaction beyond their phones. Maybe I caught it at an off time, and maybe the place comes alive when it's packed, but that kept the experience from feeling warmer or more special. I ordered eggs, bacon and a banana waffle. When you order a side of bacon they serve you six slices of bacon. (I actually asked the server if it was a side?). The banana waffles come with an entire banana sliced on it. The portions for breakfast are extremely generous! Located in Ford's, NJ on what looks like Main Street you will find Colonial Restaurant. It's mixed in among houses and shops. It's a typical NY Diner menu which I love. When you walk in there is counter seating the length of the restaurant on the right and a line of booths that seat 4 on the left. If you go with a large party you will have to sit separately. If you're in the area I definitely recommend Colonial Restaurant for breakfast!
