The host was super warm and friendly and, since it was our first time, guided us through the menu and gave us some good suggestions. That definitely made a great first impression. I'm vegetarian and don't eat eggs directly, so I got the Vegetarian Ranchero with the egg on the side. They were totally fine accommodating that, and I really enjoyed it. We also tried the guava and cheese empanada, which was a first for me, and honestly it was delicious! I wasn't sure what to expect from that combination, but the sweet guava and cheese were so well balanced. Definitely one of my favorites from the brunch. I have seen Parkside Eats everywhere lately! Since the food, staff, and ambiance all looked incredible on their socials, I was thrilled to finally check them out. A few logistical tips: while there is street parking, a public lot is conveniently located right across the street. The dining room is quite intimate with only about ten tables, and since they don't seem to take reservations, I recommend arriving early or being prepared for a wait. If you don't want to wait, they do offer takeout! Another suggestion is to browse their menu online before you arrive, the selection is extensive! We showed up without a game plan and needed several minutes just to decide because there were so many tempting choices! Luckily, our waiter was incredibly patient and helpful, answering every question we had. Once we decided, the real fun began. Every single item, and I'm not exaggerating, was phenomenal! We started with the fresh squeezed orange juice, which was sweet and perfectly portioned, along with a vanilla latte and a cappuccino. Both were classic, rich, and creamy. For the main course, we chose the "Chill + Qill It" Chilaquiles, which featured traditional corn tortillas topped with cotija cheese, avocado, pink sour cream, eggs, and your choice of protein. We also tried the Parkside Classic Sliders; the chicken was exceptionally crispy yet tender and juicy, served with eggs on a brioche bun. We opted to upgrade to the truffle fries, which were delicious! Although our sliders accidentally came with pickles, the staff was so kind and immediately offered to remake the dish or swap out the bun. Finally, we had the Grilled Chicken Egg Ranchero. It was like a breakfast version of nachos, loaded with beans, peppers, onions, an egg, those same crispy tortillas, and more of that signature pink cream! Don't come if you are in a rush or starving... going to be a while. 9 tables in the whole place. Our food got to us before 2 cans of soda did. Took 30 mins to get our appetizer, another 20 minutes to order our meals and then another 30 mins to get our food (no I'm not exaggerating it was a near 2 hour experience). Food was good, but when it got to us it wasn't hot and could tell it sitting under a heat lamp for a while. 2 tables got there after us and left before us. Understaffed and/or untrained. Great brunch spot in metuchen with many options. It's a small spot with few outside tables so definitely come early. Luckily we went on a Friday early afternoon so waited 20ish to be seated. Staff is nice and quick with the order. We were in a rush so they were able to accommodate us accordingly. Both the sliders and ranchero were solid. The ranchero was bit salty for me, but with the tortilla chips on the side, it was a good balance. Food came hot and presentation was just as advertised. This is nice little off the main street area of Metuchen restaurant. I got there just as it opened since I had somewhere else to go to afterwards. I was seated quickly and my waitress arrived shortly after.It has very limited seating but it's charming I started off with the chicken empanadas and they were very good with just the right amount of spice and the dip they gives you seems like a mix of ketchup and mayo which compliments the empanadas perfectly. My main dish was the B.E.K.Y(Brioche hot dog bun toasted with house cheese, bacon, fluffy egg, and topped with our KEWPIE mayo and fresh chives). It was perfect combo of a omelette and bread. The breakfast potatoes was very good as well they were tasty and crispy which is how I like them. The owner was kind and brought out guava and cheese empanadas. Those were delicious and I would definitely get those again. My friend enjoyed her chai latte along with her pancakes. Do I want to gatekeep this place? Absolutely! Should I? I can't. Especially since the owner really wanted us to talk about it. The only knock I have against it is that it's not easy for me to get to living in Jersey city and with no car. Genuinely would rent a car once a month just to eat here. That's how good the place is. Service was pretty decent for a small place and it was popping. Owner was really nice always checking up on us and doing his best to keep us going. The waitress was also very accommodating with how big back and messy we were. Not a single crumb wasted. All the food was good. I kinda wish I had the option to trade waffle fries for the tots/home style potatoes because them thangs was exquisitely crunchy and soft at the same time. We ate at Parkside Eats today, and it was really good -- definitely a place I'd go back to. My wife and I both ordered sliders: I had the Korean one, and she had the guava something-or-other. A couple of takeaways: when you first walk in, it looks like a takeout spot. We didn't realize there was seating until we turned the corner -- not really their fault, just a layout thing. The biggest issue for me was the cold slider buns. They really need to hit the grill for a few seconds with a bit of butter or mayo to warm them up. I've never been a fan of cold bread. Aside from that, the food was excellent -- the flavors were out of this world. I noticed a few people eating bowls that looked amazing, so I'll definitely try one next time. I was really hopeful for this place. The pics online looked good, and Metuchen usually has a vibrant food scene. But when my party of 4 arrived there was immediate confusion. A waiter wanted to seat us, but the manager or owner (dont know which) shouted about other people that needed to be sat first "unless they wanted to be sat outside." I said outside was fine, as there was two open tables. Then for 20 minutes, we stood on the sidewalk, looking at two empty tables, waiting to be seated. I still don't understand the confusion, given we were eventually sat at one of those two tables. The menu is an ipad, which is hard to see when sat outside, but the food looked great, the pictures showing some amazing food. We ordered the lobster fries and a round of drinks, though two drinks we ordered were unavailable, and subbed for something similar. Not sure the point of a digital menu if it's still showing you things you can't order. Then the manager arrived and yelled at our server about how we hadn't ordered anything. The server said we had in fact, ordered, and i mentioned we ordered an appetizer, causing the manager to stomp back inside, and i have no idea why that exchange happened, especially in front of customers. The fries arrived and were pretty good, then a good while later the drinks arrived and were quite poor. None of them tasted like the flavor they were supposed to be, they were all just bland coffees or bland matcha's, with weird small blobs of foam. I assume they were all just made poorly, but who knows. Then, after about 20 minutes, one of our parties meals arrived, the lobster mac. They said it was pretty good, but it was quite small for the price. And then the rest of us proceeded to wait another 20 minutes to get our meals. Mine were the breakfast tacos, which although lacking the char the menu showed, were good. Not $26 bucks good, which is what they cost, but not bad. My wifes meal was lukewarm to cold, clearly waiting under a heat lamp for something else when it should have just been served. And the whole time, it just seemed like time moved in slow motion for our server. Food not only took forever for us, the table next to us was getting constant appologies. Some of their drinks never arrived, some did, but well after their entrees were served. While the food was generally good, the service was so terrible, we will never return. And that angry manager? he stayed angry the whole time, and was angrily shouting about a lemonade when I went in to play. I would suggest avoiding this place at all costs. The food is good when it's hot, but the prices are high, the service is terrible, the manager is angry, and there are far better brunches in Metuchen. read more

So we decided to do lunch here. My review is kind of mixed. it's a very small place, like only 9 tables. But the hostess/waitress was lovely. My party hadn't arrived yet but she set us a place. I asked to see a menu but you have to scan the code to see an online menu. It's a nice menu but I questioned how would a senior citizen or someone that doesn't have a smart phone be able to view the menu because they have no paper menus. so I think that's something for the owner to consider plus it's a real pain to look online. She brought our teas, drinks. No alcohol served not sure it's a bring your own. You might have to call ahead to find out. Maybe it would be better at a different location. thank goodness there's parking across the road. It's a block or two from the center of town because parking otherwise would be horrible and they don't accept reservations. My grandson had popcorn chicken and waffle fries which he ate it all. My daughter had the Korean BBQ Chicken sliders which looked delicious but were very tough to chew. And they were bathed in so much sauce it was a mess to eat. Our other relative had the blueberry ube maple croissant waffle, which looked delicious. She enjoyed it. I had the Korean barbecue salad. Which was spicy but fresh and tasty. Unfortunately They mixed up our order and delivered 1/2 of it to another table so the wait was extra long. We were initially a bit confused since there was a sign on the door that said something along the lines of "We apologize for the inconvenience, we are undergoing renovations." However, we realized the place was still open once we saw someone inside. When we got seated, there was only one other family of 4 in the restaurant. Despite the lack of other customers, it took a while to get the menu, for our orders to be taken, and for our food to come out. My husband and I are on a roadtrip from miami and per yelp this place looked amazing so we stepped in to try some appetizers at a new spot . The location was supper cute , nicely decorated, the service was friendly , very attentive and quick . I've had my eye on Parkside Eats for some time now. Nestled away from the hubbub of main st Metuchen, you could easily miss this gem but I encourage you to check them out. My partner and I went on a Tuesday afternoon so it was quiet which was nice. The guy who was there was friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. The inside decor is welcoming and stylish. It is so hard to choose when dining here because everything sounds so delicious on the menu. I ordered the Ube float which ended up being my favorite part of the meal! It was so tasty and the presentation is beautiful, definitely IG worthy. We also ordered the fried cheese and "old clothes" empanadas for appetizers. I believe the fried cheese was queso de frier (halloumi) but I'm not 100%, it was a nice break from the traditional mozzarella sticks and the tangy pink sauce was a nice touch. The empanada was tasty and the filling tasted like a traditional ropa veija but it was a bit drier than I would have liked. It did come with a nice sauce for dipping so this wasn't a deal breaker. For my meal I ordered the guava chili chicken sliders, which were the perfect combo of savory and sweet. It came with two sliders and a generous portion of waffle fries... the waffle fries are on POINT. They are seasoned to perfection and nice and crisp. Everything was delicious, I've eaten every bite lol. It took a little bit to get my order placed and our food to the table but we had enjoyed what we gotten. Everyone was super nice and we met the owner of Parkside. He was amazing and words cannot describe the hospitality he had given us. Came here on a friday afternoon around 1:15pm. The place has street parking and a parking lot across the street. It was fairly empty and we were told we can sir anywhere. The place is very small but clean and nicely decorated. Me and my sister ordered the chicken sliders, veggie sliders, and the blueberry ube croissant waffle. The food came out quick. The chicken was very crunchy. It lacked flavor but was still good, fresh, and not oily. I wasnt a fan of the chipotle sauce on the side, so i asked for the pink guava sauce. It didnt taste like much either. The waffle was good. My only complaint was that although the outside was crispy, the inside was very doughy and chewy. Also, drinks are very small. All in all a very good place. I will come back to try the fluffy pancakes which are only served on Wednesday. And the ube french toast. We ordered balsamic salad, Old Clothes beef empanadas and Humpty Dumpty burger. The salad mix has wall nuts and raisins, my wife finished her whole plate of salad for the first time. The burger has two sliders with single beef patties, sunny side egg and their special sauce, so delicious. The waffle fries I ordered to replace their regular fries is seasoned and delicious. The beef empanadas are soft and the stuff shredded flank steak meat top inside with pickled onions and cilantro they're seasoned and taste great. Serving staff is friendly and helpful. Nice inside dining decor and well lighted. There's paid parking meters in the open parking lot just across, My only concern is their outside sign background is pink and the word Parkside Eats has same color. It's so hard to see or distinguish if you're driving by. The sign should be black which can be easily seen from the main road. I will try their French toasts, specially their Ube flavor for brunch. read more
