El "Spicy" Pollo Sliders and Grilled Chicken Egg Ranchero
    Hiran P.

Great brunch spot in metuchen with many options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small spot with few outside tables so definitely come early[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Luckily we went on a Friday early afternoon so waited 20ish to be seated. Staff is nice and quick with the order. We were in a rush so they were able to accommodate us accordingly. Both the sliders and ranchero were solid. The ranchero was bit salty for me, but with the tortilla chips on the side, it was a good balance. Food came hot and presentation was just as advertised. Will definitely be coming back to try other options. The avo toast and pancakes looked real good!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Parkside Eats is a cute little restaurant with a nice ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has a lot of options and the drink selection is endless. I got the dragon fruit lemonade which was good. The owner was kind and brought out guava and cheese empanadas. Those were delicious and I would definitely get those again. My friend enjoyed her chai latte along with her pancakes. I had chicken and waffles and although the waffle was good, the chicken unfortunately was a miss for me. It was very greasy and made my stomach hurt after just 2 wings. I couldn't finish it and wish I had gotten something different. I would definitely go back to explore different items.

This is not a drill!!!! For Galentines Day, me and the bestie pulled up since it was the shortest wait time for spots in the area and thank our lucky starts! The menu alone will have your lite watering! I preferred a ube latte for the wait and both our table and my latte were ready at the same time! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute spot, chill vibes and outstanding service![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ..... Now for the food!!!!! The only downside was there was not more than two of us to try more of the dishes! E V E R Y T H I N G we had was finger licking delicious! Periodt

Park Your Backside @ Parkside Eats What a fantastic new addition to Metuchen! This spot, serving LUNCH-BRUNCH-MUNCH, is all about American comfort food with a global twist, and it absolutely delivers. From the moment we walked in, the hands-on owner greeted us at the door, warmly explaining the menu and sharing the concept behind each dish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making the whole experience even better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After the customers next to us finished eating the owner and staff wiped down the table and all the seats before they sat the next group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Korean BBQ sliders were a flavorful, mouth-awakening start -- perfectly balanced and full of bold taste. The Krab BLT was light, fresh, and delicious. Then came the Ube Empanada, served fresh and piping hot with sweet ube oozing out -- a total treat! We paired everything with a refreshing mango iced tea and capped the meal off with an Ube Float that was simply perfect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The small indoor dining room has cozy, cool vibes, and the outdoor seating makes it a great spot for any time of day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll definitely be back to try more of their creative menu -- this place is a winner!

This is nice little off the main street area of Metuchen restaurant. I got there just as it opened since I had somewhere else to go to afterwards. I was seated quickly and my waitress arrived shortly after.[[HIGHLIGHT]]It has very limited seating but it's charming[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I started off with the chicken empanadas and they were very good with just the right amount of spice and the dip they gives you seems like a mix of ketchup and mayo which compliments the empanadas perfectly. My main dish was the B.E.K.Y(Brioche hot dog bun toasted with house cheese, bacon, fluffy egg, and topped with our KEWPIE mayo and fresh chives). It was perfect combo of a omelette and bread. The breakfast potatoes was very good as well they were tasty and crispy which is how I like them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall I recommend the place although seating is pretty tightly packed together the food makes up for it[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The first meal of a weekend getaway can really set the tone, and Parkside Eats in Metuchen didn't disappoint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a cozy, welcoming vibe and the service was excellent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And no worries, there's a parking lot across the street. I ordered the Brown Better Maple Chicken and Waffles, which were absolutely delicious, crispy, and flavorful. I have also tried the guava and cheese empanada that was just as tasty. Both my daughters loved their meals too. I already know I'll be coming back because the foodie that I am, couldn't stop eyeing the lobster truffle fries at the next table. Parkside Eats is definitely a spot worth visiting for brunch if you are in the area.

I can't say enough good things about everything I've tried here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy picturesque spot with great food and awesome service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Even met the owner and he was so nice and welcoming. I can't wait to be back to try more things! Just make sure you connect to the WiFi to view the menu since my service was somewhat spotty.

Do I want to gatekeep this place? Absolutely! Should I? I can't. Especially since the owner really wanted us to talk about it. The only knock I have against it is that it's not easy for me to get to living in Jersey city and with no car. Genuinely would rent a car once a month just to eat here. That's how good the place is. Service was pretty decent for a small place and it was popping. Owner was really nice always checking up on us and doing his best to keep us going. The waitress was also very accommodating with how big back and messy we were. Not a single crumb wasted. All the food was good. I kinda wish I had the option to trade waffle fries for the tots/home style potatoes because them thangs was exquisitely crunchy and soft at the same time. I love the additional runny egg yolk on any slider. Next time I'm coming for the chicken because my cousin ordered that and lemme tell you how much chicken excess there were. Messy eats means delicious in my book. I'm not normally a sweets person but that ube cream cheese or icing was so good I was actually about to be a sweets guy. Overall , this place is a 100/10. And it's halal. Makes it ever better.

If you happen to be in the area, you need to go to Parkside Eats! We arrived at 9am for a birthday breakfast as a party of 8. We didnt make a reservation, but the staff was extremely willing to make space for everyone when we arrived. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Its a small building, but you don't feel cramped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried a variety of different plates: the ropa vieja empanadas, grits, pancakes, waffles, steak bowl, the side chix, tostada egg enchilada, and the table favorite, fig empanadas(shout out to the owner for the recommendation)! Every dish was a 10/10! Everything tasted fresh and was perfectly seasoned. Make it a point to come here the next time you're looking for a great breakfast option.

Amazing experience. A top brunch spot in NJ. Food is so good, I only wish I had more room to eat. Had the spicy chicken sliders and Korean beef sliders as well as the ube French toast and WOW! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was spot on and great ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd bring anyone here for a great brunch and will be back soon!

Came here for a weekend brunch and was happy to see the wide variety of options they had! The hardest challenge was deciding what to order since everything looked so good. Our waitress Jada was so helpful and made great recommendations! We got the A V O toast and the Frutopia French toast + a guava and cheese empanada to share. I recommend going one savory and one sweet item to experience the menu! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute decor and inviting spot- will def be back![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Place need to be more clean such as table and seating[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . Also don't reuse the water that is served to another customer.. saw it in person . Pandan float is good but the Pandan waffle does not taste anything Pandan but look good. Steak is decent . And beef empanadas is normal . Service are slow Not recommend coming here especially what I saw . Pouring customer cup of water back into the severing water bottle .

Korean BBQ Chicken Slider and avocado toast with chili oil
    Joyce K.

My bf and I got brunch at Parkside Eats on a Saturday morning. We were initially a bit confused since there was a sign on the door that said something along the lines of "We apologize for the inconvenience, we are undergoing renovations." However, we realized the place was still open once we saw someone inside. When we got seated, there was only one other family of 4 in the restaurant. Despite the lack of other customers, it took a while to get the menu, for our orders to be taken, and for our food to come out. We ordered the avocado hot chili toast and Korean fried chicken sliders. The food looked nice and it tasted alright, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the hot chili on the avocado toast. The place began to fill up throughout the duration of our meal. Overall, our meals were fine, but we probably will not be returning to Parkside Eats.

I have been wanting to try this place for some while as it is always popping up as a good brunch…read morespot to try. Came here on a early Saturday afternoon, about 1 pm or so. There is metered street parking. The hostess indicated that there would be a wait for a table for one, until the other hostess suggested the bar area. So I sat at the bar and waited to be served. My server was super friendly and very attentive. She suggested cafe con maiz, which was pretty good and Im not an iced coffee person. I also ordered the chicken scoop, fried chicken breast with waffle. And thats where my 3 stars come from. For $25, I expected more than a half of waffle and two small fried chicken breast. It was literally half a waffle!!!! The hot sauce that accompanied it was good. Maybe I will come back and try something different next time, but not buying a half waffle for 25 again The ambiance was nice , warm and inviting.

I was also excited that they moved to a bigger, brighter space. There's ample parking in the back or street parking which are refreshing changes compared to the old location. *FOOD* The menu has something for everyone, from classic breakfast staples to more creative brunch options. Come hungry -- the portions are generous and everything tasted fresh and made to order. I highly recommend trying their seasonal tiramisu latte (I seriously would order this everyday if I could) and their Tex-Fast Bowl which was decadently delicious. The drink was creamy with a hint of sweetness and definitely lived up to its name. If you're not a brunch lover, they also have other options like burgers, wraps, house specialties, quesadillas, and much much more! *SERVICE* Staff was friendly and welcoming, though the pace could use some improvement which I'm sure they'll figure out over time as they just recently set up in this space. Overall, Maria's Brunch is a great spot in Metuchen that's definitely worth visiting!
