A variety of Indian food items are displayed, including chicken curry, rice, naan, and a sauce, on a white table.

Very good kadai and somosa chatt!! They were very well seasoned and a little spicy and sweet respectfully. The prices are very reasonable as well! The chili dumplings are okay, very spicy in a not so good way that sort of clogs your throat. I think they do Indian/Pakistani food better than indochinese.

1/2 -- 4.5/5 Stars Spice House - Edison, NJ We were so impressed with Spice House that we actually went back a second time just to dive deeper into their menu -- and they did not disappoint! From the start, the food quality was surprisingly good on our first visit, and I'm happy to report it held up perfectly on the second. Over the course of our two visits, we ordered a ton of dishes: Sweet Chicken Corn Soup, Sweet & Sour Soup, Steamed Chicken Momos, Mixed Grill, Garlic Hakka Noodles with Chicken & Shrimp, Garlic Shrimp, and Goan Shrimp. For dessert, we tried the Falooda, Gulab Jamun, and Carrot Halwa -- all delicious and satisfying finishes. The portions are generous, the service is friendly and attentive, and the flavors are spot-on. It's not a fancy restaurant by any means -- more of a casual sit-down spot with a big take-out crowd -- so don't make it your go-to date night location. But if you're craving really tasty food at nominal prices that won't hurt your wallet, it's definitely worth a visit. Overall, I really like this place a lot. Consistent food, great value, and solid service. My rating this go round, is a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Will happily return again!

The mango lassi's are delicious as well as the honey crispy chicken. Like an Indian take on general tso's chicken. I will definitely be back to try some of the other options on their menu.

I actually saw this restaurant from a yelp notification suggesting I check it out. The name sounded familiar but I didn't think I went before so it was worth a try. It wasn't very busy but it was a pleasant experience. It's not a high traffic area, the other shop space in the block were also empty businesses. The only workers I noticed were the owner and a waiter. They took our order, and if there were any other requests we had, they got it for us quickly. The food was good. The proportions look like they're small bowls but I consider it to be a really nice shareable size for maybe 2 and a half people. So it's enough to share between 2 people but it's plenty enough where neither would stay hungry. My group had 3 people so we ordered 2 entrees which both came with rice and a soup. It was enough where we had our fill and didn't take leftovers home. It's been a while since I haven't taken leftovers home from a restaurant. Some might think that it could be too little, but I found it to be the just right amount. Taste was flavorful and expected for what was ordered. I did order a falooda to go which I personally get excited for as I think it's such an indulgent combination. As expected it had noodles but it wasn't soft enough for me to thing it was that good. Most of the sugar came from the kulgi ice cream that was used so it wasn't aggressively sweet but a nice milky drink. I'd bring people to this restaurant again to show them what indian food is like. It's not crazy spicy but it is a comfortable kind of palette in their food

I have never tried Indian chaat and a review from a Yelp friend got me tempted to give it a try. Unlike most of the restaurants on the Edison stretch of Rt 27, Spice House is on the northbound side. Signage is huge and professionally designed. Parking is plenty and easy. The interior is also well thought out with red and yellow ethnic theme. The menu contains Indian and Chinese dishes. I knew I was going to try one of the chaats so I asked the manager for his recommendation. As a result, I ordered Samosa Chana Chaat ($8.95). In the process, I learned that the manager isn't Indian but Bhutanese. That may explained the color theme? It took a bit longer to prepare despite no one else was waiting. I think that was because the samosa either had to be cooked to order or had to be reheated properly. The rest of the ingredients were cold and ready made and just have to be mixed/sprinkled in. Most if not all chaats are vegetarian, so I didn't expect to be wowed. But the taste was explosive! It was plethora of spices, temperatures, and textures. The samosa was hot and chunky, the yogurt was cold and creamy, the chutneys were sweat, the curry was spicy, and the nylon sev was crispy. It was fantastic! I am glad I had a positive initiation to Indian street food. I will definitely venture for more in the future! P.S. 5% off if paying with cash

The menu at Spice House consists primarily of Indian dishes, although there are some Chinese and Hakka options too. The food was decent, although in general way too much sauce. Started with the drums of heaven (basically hakka style fried chicken chicken lollipops). I've had this dish at a few restaurants and love it, but thought that the ones here were not great. Just like the other food, they applied way too much sauce. Now I do like strong flavors, but this was just like eating sauce. Also I could barely make out any Indian/ Chinese/ Hakka flavors. The Hakka noodles were also disappointing. This just tasted like regular Chinese food to me. Slightly like Singapore noodles (from HK cafes), except less strong. Disclaimer. I did enjoy the Cumin chicken, as I'm a big cumin fan. This was flavorful with a fairly generous portion. Again too much sauce though. 5% cash discount. Large parking lot.

    Paneer Tikka lunch special

Ordered the paneer tikka lunch's special online - restaurant is directly across the street from my work so was able to just walk over and pick up which was nice. Reasonably priced and decent sized lunch portion. Tikka was flavorful and for the size I was surprised how many paneer cubes I got. Would definitely come back and try other dishes. I also got the gulab jamun dessert but forgot to get a photo....a little too saturated but perhaps they were sitting for a bit.

4-Star Review - Delhi Garden, NJ…read more Tried Delhi Garden recently on a friend's recommendation. It's a bit out of the way from the central Edison area, but worth a visit every now and then. I saw some solid reviews online and decided to check it out. Service was good . Atmosphere not that great . Overall, I was leaning toward a 3-star rating, but a few standout dishes pushed it to a 4. The aloo cutlet with chole was the star of the show--super authentic and flavorful. The paneer tikka and paneer masala also hit the mark taste-wise, though I wish they had packed a bit more spice. The paneer tandoor came in a generous portion, but again, it could've used more flavor. The biryani was just average. One common theme--everything was low on spice, and the small container of spicy sauce they give barely lasted a few bites. It's a takeout-only spot, so no dine-in tables, and the parking area is small but manageable. Price-wise, it felt fair for the portion sizes. Not perfect, but worth trying if you're in the mood for North Indian flavors and don't mind customizing the spice at home!

I'm always extremely satisfied with the food here. 10/10 every time! The restaurant does not have seating. It is takeout only. There's a table at the front for placing or picking up orders, and they have a decent amount of parking.

When entering from Grove Ave, it's easy to be a little bit confused because the restaurant is stuck in the corner behind what used to be Stop n Shop and such. The shopping center is certainly very empty without the anchor grocery store, so it's often quite easy to miss this. Knowing that the restaurant opens dinner service around 6, we got here just before then and realized that the staff was already accepting people beforehand. That was great. As my girl is from Goa, this was a place that was on her mind for some time to try. Likewise, I wanted to try some authentic Maharastrian food too. To start, we ordered a mango lassi & a Kaira Panha. I stuck with the former, which was great. My girl enjoyed her drink too, though def not my first preference. For an appetizer, we ordered the Kothimbir Wadi. This was quite tasty and well enjoyed with the chutney. Certainly authentic. For the main meal, my girl enjoyed her fish fry. I got the Veg. Kohlapuri along with Garlic Naan. The Kohlapuri was good and was easily able to finish it. The only small gripe we had was that the tomato-based curry kinda reminded me of a North Indian korma that you'd get from other establishments. My girl noted this and do wonder whether this is truly the proper way of making and enjoying a Vegetarian Kohlapuri. She noted it was meant to not have a tomato base and was supposed to be a bit more flavorful. As this was my first time, I'm not sure if I can fully validate this, but it's worth a question. Nonetheless, I can't complain about the food. Just simply a curiosity on my end.

We're still looking around for our go-to Indian restaurant in the area as our kids love saag/palak paneer and we used to go at least once a month where we moved from. But we finally made it! We came here on a Monday that also fell on a holiday so they had a steady amount of customers. We were the only non-Indian customers, which appears to be normal. They're located in a small strip along with 2 or 3 other businesses. Shared parking is behind the building so most people entered through the back door. It was about half full when we got there so I can see it filling up fast during crowded times. Walk through because no one is at the back but there is a small clothing rack to hang coats; the counter is at the front by the front door. We made ourselves known and were promptly seated. They serve vegetarian food and many are Swaminarayan-friendly (allium-free, which appears to be their default mode), certain can be made Jain as well! They do use alliums but overall, they seem to be able to make most of the dishes without alliums. We ordered the following, Swaminarayan-style and mild because one of my kids can do but mild food: DAHI PURI: I usually get pani puri but decided to try it out since it's been a while since I had this. It came out first as the appetizer, was a thing of beauty, and there are A LOT of flavors in there. The sweet-leaning yogurt, sev with its textural differences, the freshness of the cilantro, the spiced potatoes, the tart pomegranate seeds... My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. PALAK PANEER: This was ordered for my kids. Green gravy with tender paneer. They liked it! The curry got a little too spicy but it didn't hit them until later. My kid with the food allergies ate all the paneer when the gravy grew too spicy for him. MALAI KOFTA: This is different from the malai kofta I've had before but not in a bad way. I definitely think they use cashew "cream" in this. It's lightly sweet in a way that reminds me of cashews. The kofta are soft and I'm pretty sure are paneer based. This is probably the most mild curry we ordered, both in terms of spice and spices. This was my pick because I usually can't order malai kofta at Indian restaurants so I was pleased I could hear. MATAR METHI MALAI: I love how Indian curries are so straightforward when it comes to names. I'm not sure what to expect with this but my husband didn't know what to get so I nudged him towards this. He wanted MATAR PANEER but it's not on the menu. This is essentially fenugreek pea curry in a milky gravy. It has very interesting spices and flavor. A little more bland than the others, yet not at the same time. Must be that fenugreek! For some odd reason, it reminded me of coconut chutney I've had before. We also got ROTI for one of my kids who prefers bread over rice. All curries come with white basmati. For drinks, we got MANGO LASSI, SPRITE, and CHAAS (buttermilk). The buttermilk was different! Much more spiced than I expected. I also swear at one point I tasted a raw onion bit but it only happened once so who knows if it was mistaken blended in or it was all in my head. I do remember it was STRONG though. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised at the sheer amount of choices we had. Our bill totaled to around $90 (curries are around $20, Dahi puri was $12) and we brought home some leftovers. They seem to be family run and are fairly nice and helpful. We would likely go back again to try more things, but the palak paneer isn't completely up our kids' alley to become their favorite. If you have food allergies, let them know. My youngest has multiple food allergies including to nuts and wheat. Most of their curries contains nuts EXCEPT for the palak paneer and their bhindi (okra) dish. Luckily for my kid. Despite how nuts are a common ingredient in the kitchen, my kid was completely fine during and after eating. Note: their menu says they charge gratuity for parties of 4 people or more. My husband says he didn't see it on the bill when it was time to pay. Not sure if that statement is now outdated or it only counts if there are 4+ ADULTS.
