Had a great dinner here. Took it to go and everything was hot and packaged well. The portions are huge. I really enjoyed the Combo 1 of Spare Ribs and Chicken with Rice and Fries. It fed 3 people and we still had leftovers. The Picadinho was good. I wish it had Chorizo in it. Overall a good meal and will be back!

This is my second time coming with family and it's been so lovely and amazing! The food takes me back to my homeland and the staff is super friendly and they love to chat if the place isn't too busy. I definitely recommend the garlic shrimp appetizer and you can't go wrong with their BBQ Chicken, fries and rice with a side of salad! My husband and I's personal favorite are the beef and chicken skewers

Fire & Flavor BBQ in Metuchen, NJ is serving some authentic Portuguese food in NJ! You can see the open flame Portuguese BBQ so you know it's going to be good! Everything was super flavorful and the portions are huge. The picanha, chicken and seafood were all very fresh and the menu has a wide variety! Insta: @thehungrysw

I love Portuguese food and couldn't wait to try this restaurant. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked into a small Portuguese BBQ. I was greeted and sat at a table and served by a nice lady. I ordered the garlic shrimp dish and the garlic chicken dish. One with rice and French fries and one with vegetables. The food came out in about 15 minutes or so. When I dug in, I was not a big fan of the garlic shrimp because it was a bit salty. On the other hand, the garlic chicken, rice, fries, and vegetables were good! All in all I did have a good experience!

The best spot i've found that serves up some good authentic Portuguese flavors! If youre a meat lover like me - you'll be quite pleased with the selection of dishes ranging from Grilled pork, steak, chicken, ribs, T-bone steaks and more! Some must try dishes have to be the Portuguese sausage - authentic flavorful, and hearty! The Specialty Rice dish speaks for itself, good as a whole meal, or prefect as a side. Highly recommend getting the combo meat platters, as it served with a generous helping of fries and rice! Empanadas, maduros, and cheese breads are also on the menu, and a must have as well!

A great authentic Portuguese spot! The flavors were delicious and I loved how many items were on the menu! My favorite was definitely the picanha and I also LOVED the empanadas! Everything was cooked fresh and made in house. I would definitely suggest a combo platter which gives a little bit of everything and great for sharing. Make sure to save room for the amazing homemade desserts as well!! The owner was super friendly and all of the staff was very attentive. Dishes were a generous size for a comfortable price point. Would definitely recommend for dine in or take out!

My husband and I decided to try a new spot for Portuguese BBQ which led us to Fire & Flavor. We ordered a beef and chicken combo and shrimp in garlic sauce. The combo portions were generous. I liked that there were some pickled vegetables. The fries were nice and crispy. The flavor of the garlic sauce was delicious! The shrimp was very good. We were very happy with our order and will be returning.

The food was packed with flavor! Shrimp & Garlic Sauce & Chicken Empanadas were some favorites! For dessert it was a tie between the Serradura & the Passionfruit Mouse of which I liked best. The service was great and the staff was so friendly! If you have a chance to visit I would highly recommend! Will be back soon.

Walked in here and immediately it felt like home. The smells of chicken turning on the grill, rice cooking, and just seeing customers smiling and humming was topping on the cake. I knew I just had to get something just to say I tried the food here! I ordered a chicken empanada for starters! (Let's just say pics didn't make the cut, it was too good and everybody knows you eat empanadas while they're hot) For Dinner- Chicken and Pork Rib Combo with rice and fries Chicken juice and falling off the bone Ribs- I don't eat pork so unfortunately I can't comment on that ‍ Rice and fries- absolutely amazing, especially the homemade fries

If you like Portuguese BBQ then this is the place for you. It's reminiscent of the Portuguese bbq that you would find in Newark's Ironbound section. The portions were generous and the flavors were just amazing. Their rice was cooked perfectly, the the fries were crispy and tasty (Double fried) and the chicken and the ribs were grilled just right. The garlic shrimp in sauce was a nice addition to the regular style Portuguese bbq style menus. Try their empanadas while you wait for you food (Look I just came here from a very hard gym workout and I was hungry . Don't judge me hahahahaha). The place itself is a bit on the small side, but very nice place to eat lunch or maybe dinner for two!

It's not easy opening up a restaurant. However, thanks for offering a different taste in cuisine close to my home. Nothing beats charcoal bbq. Their chicken and ribs are a definite go to for an enjoyable experience. I have yet to try more items on their menu, but the rice/meat/fries combination is solid. Eat it fresh, seriously. I notice the difference when it's plated fresh. Their sausage appetizer doesn't only contain chorizo, there are some other sausages the Portuguese eat that are inside. I like the variety. I have to point out to people that are used to fish fillet that their salmon and bacalau entrees have bones. I'm fine with it, means it's a fresh cut, but little FYI to those that don't like bones. End the meal with an espresso, it's exactly like the ones I've had in Portugal! If you're not too full, as they give decently sized PORTIONS, grab some of the chef's home made dessert. Portuguese pineapple cake and pastas de natas, very good! This portuguese bbq restaurant also offers some extra goodies. Get on the good side of the chef and you'll be eating delicious prosciutto, heh. Price is fair, definitely cheaper compared to many restaurants in Metuchen. Im also glad I don't have to drive all the way to Newark now for Portuguese BBQ. Chef Wilson and co also do their best to improve. They are very open to feed back and adjusting to customer preferences. I'm looking out for that francesinha someday!

Good food but everything is way too salty. Empanadas are outstanding. Chicken with garlic or franchise are favorites

Meat was soft and delicious. The churro waffle was so fluffy and not too sweet. Perfect balance. Farmer's platter was good. My only note is they didn't add any butter to my toast, something I usually expect when I order breakfast plates. But since they charged me extra for ordering some garlic mayonnaise, I assumed they'd charge me if I asked for butter. Staff was attentive and kind, upsold us to the max. Which was a good and bad thing. The coffee we ordered, our server upsold us on flavored syrups and cold foam but did not disclose it'd be extra. Didn't complain since the coffee was delicious, but just keep that in mind if you try this place!

When we went, it was the last day of winter drink specials so not much was left to choose from though they do have bottomless hot coffee for a decent price and even offered to put fresh coffee in a to go cup as we were leaving! The food hit the spot. There are a lot of vegetarian options as well which is exciting. It is definitely on the pricier side for the portions though service was excellent.
