After going to chubby skewer in New York I feel like my expectation bar has been skewed, haha. This place does have a so called "grill" but all the food is cooked in the kitchen and the grill is just there to keep the meat warm with tea lights underneath. We got a little bit of everything brisket, pork belly, chicken, etc. I think our favorite was the brisket as it had a nice char flavor. However, it seems like all the rest of the meats and mushroom all have the same spice dry rub on them, I wish there was more variety in flavor. There was five of us and about $20 pp after tax and too. I think I'd return to try the stew/hotpot as we only had skewers, dumplings, and cold appetizers

This place is always packed and we finally were able to get a table on a weekday without much wait. We did put our names on the waitlist before arriving. We tried a few kebabs and some of their classic dishes. -Signature fried pork: this fell flat, breading too thick and extremely sweet. - Fried eggplant was the star of the night, very fluffy and crunchy with a sweet tangy sauce. -Colorful mung bean noodles were a little too mushy for my liking. Peanut sauce it came with was fine. -Homemade dumplings were a disappointment, dumpling skins were broken when they arrived at the table. Filling was fine. -Fried pork ribs- tasted exactly like fried pork ribs, no sauce or much seasoning -Stir fried intestine, liver and stomach. I didn't try this, but family members enjoyed it. -Kebabs- We got different lamb and beefs one. Spicy seasoning was good but there was a lot of fat mixed into the kebobs. The waitress was extremely aggressive when ordering and kept telling us we didn't order enough food. With all the food we ordered for 5 adults (2 of which are seniors that don't eat a ton) she kept telling us that what we ordered is how much food two people normally order. And she wouldn't leave the table when we said we would take another look at the menu and order more if we needed. Pretty rude and unnecessary. Of course we ended up having leftovers because it was too much food. Food was mediocre, and with the harassment for ordering more food, I probably wouldn't return.

I had a mixed experience here. The beef and lamb skewers were extremely soft, almost falling apart, with very little meat texture. Beef and lamb tasted quite similar, aside from color. The skewers felt more like they were pre-fried and then quickly torched, rather than grilled fresh from raw. After the meal, there was a noticeable baking soda-like aftertaste that lingered for a long time and made me uncomfortable. The grilled scallops were also very tough and hard to chew. This may suit some tastes, but the texture and aftertaste didn't work for me.

This was my first time at Tonight Kabab in Edison, and I really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the food was flavorful. We ordered the bunch of beef, beef brisket, special chicken soft bone, and roasted eggplant. The eggplant was my favorite. I loved the garlic and noodles, and it had just the right amount of spice. I liked the flavor of the chicken, but I wish it was boneless because it would have been easier to eat. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely come back if I am in the area again.

    Twisted potato

I've been eyeing this place for awhile and we finally came here for dinner. The skewers are great. I tried the chicken skewers and the meat was moist and tender. The twisted potato is also very good. It's got a crunchy exterior with a soft center. The other dishes were just ok. I tried the Mr and Mrs smith. . The beef was tasty with the sauce. At first I thought the beef was spoiled though because it tasted sour, but our waitress said it's because of the vinegar in the sauce. The tofu dish was good but nothing extraordinary. The thin sliced pork belly dish (can't remember the name) was too hard. It's hard to chew and it's not crispy. Our waitress pushed hard for us to get the meatballs. She said everyone gets that and it's their specialty. This dish came out room temperature, not even lukewarm. The meat was tender but we didn't expect this to be a cold dish. We decided to take it home and heat it up. In fact, none of our dishes came out hot, except the twisted potato. They were lukewarm at best. When we were almost done, I noticed some tables had a candle lit under their skewer box to keep the food warm. Our waitress never mentioned this to us. When I told my husband about it, our neighboring table heard me and ask the waitress to light their candle. It would have been nice to know about this.

    Fish stew

Go here for the kebabs which are top notch - lamb, chicken, pork are all standout hits with an addictive sprinkling of seasoning on top. The fish stew was good but the lamb stew was difficult to eat with the large bones and large amount of oil. Would probably order scallops without garlic next time, and just a whole lot of skewers!

We were greeted by staff right away. They spoke chinese but we didnt understand. We ordered special beef skewers, bunch of brisket skewers, corn skewers, taiwanese sausage skewers, multan cubes on skewers, yangzhou fried rice, pork belly enoki mushroom skewers, crispy garlic spare ribs. We liked the pork belly enoki mushroom skewers and the brisket skewers. The brisket was super small. Crispy garlic spare ribs need seasoning. I thought the skewers get rotated in the middle of our table but i think its only to warm food. It all came out cooked.

We didn't take photos of the skewers because as soon as they came, we grabbed and forgot the photo opportunity.

Food was amazing. Service felt a bit rushed. This was the second time coming back with friends. A nice new find for us.

    colourful mung bea nnoodle salad
    Ping R.

Busy, popular spot that my friends saw on social media and wanted to go-- expect instagrammable kind of vibes haha. Food was fine. Nothing mind blowing in terms of flavor, quality, preparation, etc. but it's one of a kind in the area so that wins points! For me, these types of restaurants are selling an experience/concept over just food. It's very trendy inside with a somewhat chaotic flow of the dining room as servers run in circles with skewers of meat-- all surrounded by happy and laughing diners. We ordered a 12-15 types of skewers and it ended up being too much, plus the cold colourful mung bean noodles salad. If you love this type of cooking you'll find the food satisfies a craving. The mung bean noodles we only ended up tasting but nobody enjoyed the extra wide and thick style. The noodles were slightly overcooked and felt soggy while the sauce was very average. We happened to be in the area and stopped by when one of my friends recognized the restaurant. It was early in the evening but already packed inside. We used a QR code near the front door to conveniently sign up for their wait list. It took about 40 minutes for a table for 4 but there are SO MANY shops and other restaurants to wander in the same plaza we did not mind.

    Roasted eggplant
    Ria H.

Love the skewers in this place. One of go to places. The lamb and the beef. The way it is season is so delish. The glazed eggplant is delicious as well. It's more of a northern Chinese food place. Open late as well. Can't go wrong eating here.

    sweet and sour pork
    Kenneth M.

Food was decent here. The sweet and sour pork was the best dish out of the three we ordered (a bit on the sour side). The yellow beef was good but not the best we've had. It was very filling for the amount of food we ordered. it was about $60~ in total We came here on a long weekend. We waited in line for one hour and the environment was a bit chaotic outside the restaurant. The inside was clean and organized but they were definitely over allowed capacity.

Always done for skewers and there's none around me that's good. Decided to stop by Edison for grocery shopping and found this gem. They opened at 11:30am and we got there at 11:50am - the place was 85% packed!! You know it's good when they just opened and the restaurant is packed already. It's a cute place, kinda dim for anyone who doesn't like to eat in a dark place. Servers were quick to take your order so make sure you know what you want to order. We ordered a bunch of meat skewers and enoki mushroom. It's pretty much all the same seasoning and topped with sesame. But everything was so tasty and cooked just right. Will recommend and come back to try the other dishes. It was just too early to eat a lot.

Mung Bean Noodle Salad, Glazed Eggplant
    Deborah C.

Came on a Friday evening with a reservation for our group of six. The restaurant became super busy, so I'd recommend booking ahead. For our group, we ordered a few different skewers, but the standout dishes to me were the Colorful Mung Bean Noodle Salad, Crispy Sweet & Sour Pork Slices, and Glazed Eggplant. We all were pretty full, so I'd say this place is pretty value for how much we paid per person.

I saw some solid reviews online and decided to check it out. Service was good . Atmosphere not that great . Overall, I was leaning toward a 3-star rating, but a few standout dishes pushed it to a 4. The aloo cutlet with chole was the star of the show--super authentic and flavorful. The paneer tikka and paneer masala also hit the mark taste-wise, though I wish they had packed a bit more spice. The paneer tandoor came in a generous portion, but again, it could've used more flavor. The biryani was just average. One common theme--everything was low on spice, and the small container of spicy sauce they give barely lasted a few bites. It's a takeout-only spot, so no dine-in tables, and the parking area is small but manageable. Price-wise, it felt fair for the portion sizes. Not perfect, but worth trying if you're in the mood for North Indian flavors and don't mind customizing the spice at home!

Our reservation was for 7:30, but the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived 15 minutes early and we were promptly seated. Everyone in my group was vegetarian so we stuck with vegetarian options. Overall, I thought all of the entrees were delicious with generous portions. One appetizer + 3 curries was more than enough for 5 people to share. We ordered: Dahi ki kebab ($16.95) - crispy yogurt dumplings. Personally not my favorite, but everyone else enjoyed them Dal makhani ($15.95) - I typically don't like dal makhani (something about the flavor throws me off), but this was the best I've ever had. The lentils were very creamy and tasted amazing. Paneer butter masala ($19.95) - pretty solid but nothing special about it Bhindi masala ($16.95) - everyone's favorite entree of the night was surprisingly the bhindi masala. It was very flavorful and cooked perfectly Some friends ended the meal the Indian way with paan, but it's not my thing so I didn't partake. Service was a bit slow, but we never felt rushed as we were slowly eating and chatting. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good Indian place in the area.

Located at the Westfield Plaza off of South Avenue E, some of my colleagues decided on takeout as first-timers for lunch, which came recommended as the food tastes and feels like home from this family-owned and -run establishment. We called the order in for their family platter consisting of Ground Chicken, Lamb and Beef Kababs, Garden Salad, Brown Rice, Fresh Naan Bread, and a side of Potatoes with a red sauce and yogurt. Upon arrival at Famous Kabab Cuisine, my colleague and I were greeted by the owner, Ahmed, who has more than 25 years of experience in making fresh bread and kabob, and informed us of a 5-minute wait. The food remained hot back into the office, would feed 5, and have some for leftovers. The kebabs (ground chicken, beef, and lamb) were well seasoned, tasted delicious, and paired beautifully with the brown rice. Top that bread or kebab with the trio of sauces. A white yogurt sauce with dill is very reminiscent of tzatziki sauce, a vinegary green sauce with cilantro and pureed walnuts, and, for those who do want the heat, a red habanero sauce that should have come with a warning.
