    Mixed shawarma

Food was good but the service was very slow. We placed our order at 1:10 and got our food after 1:40. Next time we will try call I. Our order and go pick up 20 minutes later. We had mixed shawarma and devil falafels. The shawarma was served on a bun and looked a bit small. Both were delicious.

Kaizr was a decent experience. Went with a friend to try it out, as it is a new place that I have heard about. I ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich and the kofta fries. The chicken shawarma sandwich was good, but the meat definitely could have been more seasoned. The fries were amazing, as they were crispy and were a great pairing with the sandwich. Service was quick, as orders are placed through the screen when you walk in. The overall vibe is pretty casual.

I always welcome another mediterranean restaurant to New Brunswick, so I was looking forward to trying this new spot on George St. Sad to say that the experience was underwhelming. When I walked in the big ordering kiosk was off and there was no employee in sight. For a second, I thought they were closed. An employee eventually emerged, but with no welcome or warmth. I ordered the falafel platter. The falafels were fried well with a good crisp and were fairly moist inside. Everything else was okay, but nothing special. I don't think the quality matched the price ($15).

Exactly what I was hoping for. The beef and chicken shawarma Arabic style are excellent. Traditional flavors. The wraps are good portions.

Great food. Friendly service. I had chicken sandwich with a flavorful tart yogurt sauce. This is a new place. I hope they do well.

The food is deliciously gourmet- the lamb, chicken and beef are so soft that we invariably order multiple because we can't decide which is best! The ambiance is very authentic and has great middle eastern art for sale at great prices. This is my go to place in New Jersey for the best authentic Mediterranean food. Ps try the pesto hummus - it's addictive

I was a bit doubtful about what to expect from the place . Susan was managing the front of the house and welcomed us with a smile . Handed us the menu and told us we had to order at the counter . We had planned on a takeout but decided done in as it was not very crowded. We ordered a Falafel sandwich , Stuffed grape leaves and were very pleased with how good both were . The grape leaves with the rice was well seasoned and delightful . The sandwich was warm on a soft toasted pita which had good amount of tahina sauce , mixed greens tomatoes and falafels made from fava beans , which tasted quite different from the typical chickpea falafel . Given the food was on a high note we had to try their desserts . We picked up 2 different Baklavas to go . Pistachio and Walnut tahina . My O My , it was a juicy, lip smacking sweet treat . Not to be missed ! The owner is Egyptian and so are most of the cooks, which goes to show the quality and authenticity of the food . Have to go back to try the other authentic items in the menu like Ful Mudqmmas @ Koshary .

We ordered phyllo stuffed with meat, a fish platter and a kofta platter. The phyllo was light, packed with stuffing, and cooked to perfection. Both platters came with rice, which was cooked well and seasoned nicely, and a side salad which had fresh lettuce and vegetables. The kofta and fish were flavorful and paired perfectly with the rice and salad. Overall a great place with kind staff and owners -- definitely a must try.

Let's get the elephant out of the room first…read more Ambience: Non-existent. Interior looks bare. It has a few seating. This is not a spot for a romantic date. We got takeout and were very satisfied. Food: I've had Egyptian before in NYC and I liked this much more. Here's what we ordered: Dolmas (stuffed grapeleaves). They were served hot. Never had them hot and I was surprised by how much I liked them. The stuffing was soft inside with a hint of sourness. Completely different from the typical cold pickled versions we had. I usually have 2-3 pieces but this time we ate the whole pound of it. Stuffed Cornish hen. This order takes a while, so order ahead. At first, we were not impressed by the meat. Not bad, very moist and meat fell off the bone. But, then we ate it with the stuffed rice. Rich umami. All the flavor went into the rice. Very rich flavor and together it was delicious. I would add hot sauce to the mix. Chicken kabob. All breast meat. Decent portion. It was not dry and very well spiced. My in-laws loved it. I'm not a fan of white meat but recognize that it was done well. Stuffed eggplant. Indian eggplant. Also hot version. Firm exterior, soft interior. Cuts through really well to share. Definitely like it more than the cold appetizer i've had elsewhere. More on the milder side so other dishes tasted better. Biftek (fried breaded thin steak). Fried very well. Didn't get soggy in the container so the kitchen knew to let it cool and stay crispy. Nothing bad but also not special. Many different cuisine does the same thing. Needs a dip. I would order it again and I imagine kids with a tunnel vision palate would like it too because it's like chicken nugget and french fries to them. Meat shawarma. This was disappointing. It's not bad but boring compared to all the other dishes. It's pretty much meat over rice but since I come from the city, it doesn't stack up against the lamb/chicken over rice from halal carts. It was a little dry and came with tahini (hummus based). Pretty sure this version is more authentic but I'm biased to the lamb over rice covered in white sauce. If you never had Egyptian before, it's in between Mediterranean and Middle Eastern because it is both but at the same time different enough to be its own category. There's a Greek restaurant in the same plaza and I would say the fare is completely different although their dishes overlap in the menu. They are not comparable. Verdict: We ordered more food the very next day. Until we try other restaurants in the area, this is currently my favorite Egyptian restaurant.

Stained/ripped couches. Could use a redesign for lounge appeal. 2. Service is nice but extremely slow and inattentive. Last visit this month... had to wait 30 mins to get seated, took 30 mins to even get menus (another table called someone over to get us one), and once we ordered we did not receive our hookah for another 30 mins after me having to specifically ask a worker why it was taking so long. The place had cleared out by that point. 3. They used to play club music which gave it a fun nightlife vibe, but in recent times they play it extremely low where it is barely heard. Smoking hookah in silence pretty much. PRO: 4. The food. Menu I have to say is large, fairly priced, and the middle eastern cuisine is actually quite tasty/authentic -- i.e. falafel, lamb, hummus, etc. 5. Interesting variety of hookah. You could try this spot out; it's ok and gets the job done. However, I'm sure there are way cooler places to spend a night.
