    Chicken Platter

So... never judge a dish by its cover. When I first opened the bag I thought there was too much sauce at first glance. Well, when I took my first fork full of rice with the sauce I realized it was just right. The sauce was really good and really went well with the rice and chicken. My wife thought the same (she had the falafel). They were pretty large servings. I really enjoyed the food and definitely recommend NJ Halal Bowls. You can expect more orders from me in the near future. PS. The Baklava didn't disappoint either.

This will definitely be my go to spot for halal bowls in edison now. The lamb was declines and cooked perfectly. Loved the ample greens and rice, and I didn't even need to ask for them to load it up with white sauce which is my favorite. The mango lassi was also perfectly sweet and yoghurt-y.

Update only for Chapli Kababs- tried kebabs a couple times after my last review and like most SE Asian restaurants struggling with consistency, the quality of kebabs have gotten down. they are suuper hard, has egg white fragments telling that it's more egg than chicken, and potentially not quite well mixed too. totally pass. will find another place for kebabs now.

Food and service wasn't great. I came in around noon and there wasn't anyone in there. The guy working the counter didn't greet or acknowledge me and even after I said hello to him he didn't make an effort to make me feel welcomed by getting off of the counter he was leaned up/relaxing on. I asked him for a pretty standard rice and chicken plate and he seemed annoyed and made ordering super difficult. The food was quick but not good at all. The white sauce was bland, hot sauce wasn't hot at all, veggies were old. It's unfortunate because I really want businesses like these to do well.

I discovered this place awhile ago and it never misses! The lamb platter is delicious. I think it's better than the chicken. This places style of lamb is more chopped up and less chunky than other halal places. I enjoy this style more so if you don't maybe avoid the lamb! They give you a pita with the friend and the salad is cucumbers onions and tomato. Be careful, the hot sauce is very hot so I usually only get 1 or 2 lines of it!

Chicken platter on the left and chicken biryanis on the right (already scoop out half)

Tonight we ordered the chicken platter and chicken biryanis, we haven't been back for a while, it wasn't so great, but after checking on the reviews, realized it is under new management, so we gave it a try. It did not disappoint, both bowl were delicious, although the rice in the chicken platter can be a little softer. But the chicken biryanis is so flavorful and that kick of spice really put it to the top. Also the portions are pretty generous. Will definitely order again.

This is my occasional late "go-to" meal on nights when I decide to have dinner after 9 pm. I usually get the chicken gyro platter. I love the flavor of the chicken and it is more aesthetically appealing than some of the other "Halal" places with a similar name. The mixture of chicken, rice, salad doused in the white sauce with lines of hot sauce almost sounds illegal. Hot sauce is potent!!!!! I used to do 3 lines but I think they changed their bowl sizes so I felt 2.5 lines was good. Best to ask for some on the side if you don't know how you will tolerate it.

Came here for the first time Saturday night to pick up some food. I was really in the mood for a chicken platter so I figured I would check this place out since I've had it on my bookmark list. Funny thing is I asked my fiancé to drive me since he had dinner earlier with friends and wasn't hungry. I didn't tell him where we were going I just put the address in the GPS and said drive.... Trust me he wasn't amused that I made him drive 30 minutes for a chicken platter but I thought it was pretty funny... that's the price you pay for eating without me...lol Anyway back to the food... I got my chicken platter $7.99 with rice, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber and my favorite white sauce and a dash of hot sauce. Got some extra white sauce on the side I think it was .50 extra Also got a fountain soda only $1.00 only bad thing they have Pepsi products and I'm a Diet Coke person...so had to suffer through a Diet Pepsi. The food was pretty good not the tops on my Halal list but still solid and I would definitely eat here again if only it was closer to home.

This place tops the other places in Jersey, especially Halal guys. I still prefer the trucks you can find in Brooklyn or NYC, but this is pretty damn close, and pretty damn good for jersey. The chicken here is actually marinated and seasoned! Really delicious. They also serve lamb as opposed to only beef.

Okay, I ordered delivery via UberEats because it was one of my only options on Christmas. It was bad. Real bad. I got a lamb & falafel platter. Lamb was ground, but tasted fine. Basically only edible portion of the meal. The falafel tasted like a freezer and was burnt. The rice tasted like...nothing? It was also inexplicably swimming in oil. See the pic for how much congealed grease this turned into when I finally dumped it out. Not even sure why I stuck it in the fridge, instead of the trash straight off. The Baba Ganoush was mayonnaise. Literally even just smelled like opening a jar of Hellman's. Some eggplant was mixed in as a weird visual courtesy. Absolute worst halal platter and baba ganoush I've ever tried. Not sure how this place has 4 stars.

Came in for lunch while at a local hotel. Chose a large chicken platter for $7.99. What a bargain! Hot food is prepared to order. Got a large amount of fresh and tasty food! Lots of salad choices to go along with my chicken and rice! At first I thought the rice was shredded carrots as it was orange! Don't worry though, it just tastes like rice! My companion ordered a chicken quesadilla for $4.99 and she said it was great! Look at the picture and check out the amount of chicken and cheese you get! The fountain soda for $1.00 is a bargain too! The red sauce packs a real kick! Check it out!

4-Star Review - Delhi Garden, NJ…read more Tried Delhi Garden recently on a friend's recommendation. It's a bit out of the way from the central Edison area, but worth a visit every now and then. I saw some solid reviews online and decided to check it out. Service was good . Atmosphere not that great . Overall, I was leaning toward a 3-star rating, but a few standout dishes pushed it to a 4. The aloo cutlet with chole was the star of the show--super authentic and flavorful. The paneer tikka and paneer masala also hit the mark taste-wise, though I wish they had packed a bit more spice. The paneer tandoor came in a generous portion, but again, it could've used more flavor. The biryani was just average. One common theme--everything was low on spice, and the small container of spicy sauce they give barely lasted a few bites. It's a takeout-only spot, so no dine-in tables, and the parking area is small but manageable. Price-wise, it felt fair for the portion sizes. Not perfect, but worth trying if you're in the mood for North Indian flavors and don't mind customizing the spice at home!

To our surprise, nearly everything was a letdown. The Beef Paya and Peshawari Mutton Karahi were both swimming in oil and severely lacked flavor, which was shocking considering how good they used to be.
