The falafel was way too crispy and the lemon chicken was not very tasty in my opinion. There is something about cava's falafel that hits the spot for me. Hummus republic just did not do it for me. BUT one thing I did enjoy from hummus republic was their mango lemonade! Their lemonade tastes way better than cava. I say it may be a good alternative if there isn't a cava around. Maybe next time I would try switching around the ingredients I put in my bowl so hopefully I can enjoy it better next time.

For apps, we decided on the: Hummus - how do you properly judge a Mediterranean restaurant without trying their hummus, and this was creamy, decadent and served with some fresh pita. Grilled Calamari (with roasted red pepper, lemon, evoo, capers, red onions) - very nicely cooked, not rubbery at all Grilled Octopus (with roasted red peppers, fava puree, capers, onions, red wine vinegar, arugula, evoo) - if octopus is on the menu, I'm gonna have it. For my entree, I got the pan-seared scallops with cauliflower puree, quinoa, spinach, heirloom tomato. Loved it. Cooked perfectly, loooved the silky puree...just a solid solid dish.
