Steak sandwich. The pieces of steak were over cooked, dry and pretty much like chewing shoe leather.

Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. Steak sandwich may be the worst I've ever had. Barely any meat on it, totally dried out like pieces of leather. The included fries were beyond soggy. Even the rice was bad - tasted like it came out of package and was reheated.

The pork ribs were overcooked. Dry as sand.

The restaurant looks like a dirty cafeteria. Walls are bare and drab. Corners are filthy. Floor doesn't look washed (interestingly the bathroom wasn't too awful). Eating here is depressing. The guy working the cash register, an old man whom I assume is the owner or at least a manager, is supremely unfriendly. Never smiles, never thanks, never makes you feel welcome. Gruff. Unpleasant. The smell around the restaurant is divine, but the food is overcooked. I didn't actively hate the food, but I'd never come here a second time. You DO get a lot of food for your money, but I'd rather not eat than eat here. Rice: B+ The one thing here that actually was pretty good (but if rice is the only good thing on the menu, you're in trouble!) Black Beans: B Not bad. Pork Ribs: C+ Horrendously overcooked. Dry to the point of being barely edible. Nice charring and chargrill flavors, but you have to choke it down, it's so dry. Sausage: B Like the pork ribs, it's overcooked and dry. The only thing that saves the sausage is that it's extremely fatty, so being overcooked can be overlooked. Still, I'd rather eat well-cooked sausage than overcooked sausage. French fries: C+ Soggy and tasteless. Not bad if you throw them into a toaster oven and make them crispy. But the way they come from the kitchen is piss-poor.

I used to come here a lot back in the day, but I hadn't been here in at least 5 or 6 years. I think management changed, because I didn't see the Portuguese guy that used to work there behind the counter. None the less, the food was still delicious! We ordered the chicken and rib combo with rice and french fries. The portions are large and you can easily feed 4 people with one combo. This place isn't somewhere I would recommend coming on a date though because it's set up as more of a take-out restaurant. The place can definitely use some updating. The staff was very nice and welcoming. By the way, THEY DELIVER!

Food is good. The garlic chicken is excellent. Portion are huge and can be shared. I recommend this place for take out.

The service was outstanding from start to finish -- warm, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food. The restaurant has a very open kitchen, and several of the chefs took time to show us what they were doing and explain the preparation. They were excited to talk about the paella pans, the saffron and sofrito rice base, the wood-and-charcoal fire, and the way the dishes were finished. They clearly take pride in the food and enjoy sharing that with guests. We had the pão with cardamom-chile butter, roasted oysters, garlic shrimp, picanha, the meatball paella, and olive-oil tres leches cake, along with Alvarinho wine and a draft beer. The paella rice itself was excellent, with a very good socarrat and a strong wood-fired character. The pork-and-beef meatballs were good on their own, though for me the combination was a little unusual and I would choose a different paella variation next time. Always changing paella of the day. Seafood would excite me when available. The picanha, oysters, shrimp, bread, and dessert were also all very good. The whole restaurant operated as a team. That added a lot to the experience because the people serving the food really understood how it was prepared. Even small details were thoughtful. Our leftovers were kept at the host stand and we were given a numbered claim disc to retrieve the bag on the way out -- a simple idea that avoids having takeout bags sitting on the table or floor. I had never seen that done before. Overall, Lita delivered very good food with exceptional hospitality. The open kitchen, wood-and-charcoal cooking, and interaction with the chefs made the meal feel personal and memorable. We would definitely return, especially to try another paella variation.
