How much do I love Marco's Deli? Very much! The owner and staff are welcoming and friendly. I feel uplifted just walking in here because everyone is cheerful and the vibe is upbeat. The food here is reasonably priced and made fresh to order. My usual orders are either an omelette with a side of hashbrowns, or an egg and cheese sandwich on a roll. My coworkers also order here regularly for lunch, and they always love their meals no matter what they get. Really, everything here tastes good. You can't go wrong! The interior is small, and there are a couple tables for eat-in. There's a lottery machine. Marco's also sells a variety of prepackaged chips, snacks, and bottled beverages, as well as fresh coffee. I must say that I am VERY lucky to live in the same neighborhood where Marco's Deli is located. It's kind of on its own (not downtown) but it's right on Main St so it's very easy to find. Sandwiches are always fresh and made to order. Last Thanksgiving (2024) I ordered the pre-cooked Turkey dinner and I was so impressed! I think as long as Marco is cooking, I will be ordering! I know it's crazy, but I judge a good deli by the following: The bread (nice crunchy outside soft inside Italian bread) - check! Great Service, Excellent Food!! Ordered business luncheon for 10 people. Wrap platter for 10-12, small green salad platter, small antipasto platter, small fruit platter. Food was very fresh, delivered on time, presented well. There was a mix-up with the CC use as we had not ordered there before and MC denied the charge. Marco was very patient, running the card twice when I ordered and then again the next day before delivery. We had to notify the CC company to authorize and again asked Marco to run it and it cleared. Again, very patient, excellent service, delivered on time as promised. Delicious food, large portions, more than enough for the folks to eat and even have seconds. They always forget items, it's super annoying. Like that's the ONE thing you have to do and you can't even get that right! I called them to point out that they forgot two items in my order and they tell me, "I've got you next time." What does that even mean? This isn't 1987, you don't got me next time! "I will refund the missing items" should've been the response. Thankfully grub hub issued a refund for the missing items. Also, don't put people's orders BEHIND their doors, how are they supposed to open the door with an order sitting there! What if there's coffee in there, we have to tip it over? Fast service and delivery, well packaged items. Enjoyed the food overall: Chicken cesar wrap -- good wrap, used more of an oil based dressing rather than the creamy type. Italian sub -- good sandwich, but didn't taste any of the oil/vinegar that it was supposed to have. Buffalo wings -- standard wings. Bbq wings -- really tangy! Loved these, but it's stronger than most with the vinegar taste and it might not be to everyone's liking. Was too much for my husband Plain pizza -- one of the best pizza we've tried in our local area. We have not been able to find anything great but this does hit the spot when a craving strikes. Sauce had a mild flavor. Cheeseburger deluxe -- made it medium rare as requested, but they used a kaiser type of roll for it, and it just seemed to overwhelm the meat, in terms of meat to bun ratio. Would order from here again, but it does close early, so it would be better for a breakfast, lunch, or pre-dinner snack. Not so much for dinner unless you eat dinner super early. It's a small establishment, but has all your basics for breakfast and/or lunch. They use Boar's Head brand for their sandwich meats/cheeses. I ordered a typical breakfast sandwich and they processed the order in 3 minutes. The bread was Kaiser, although they have plenty of other choices. It was fresh, my eggs were also cooked to order and the bacon was spot on. I was in and out in under 5 minutes and you can even call ahead, or place your order direct through this app. So, if you are in Metuchen, and don't feel like sitting or ordering through a diner... I highly advise you order from here. They are fast, friendly and reasonably priced. Enjoy! Update 1/7/2017 Came back after a long hiatus. This is probably my favorite deli, they have great prices on their breakfast and lunch meals. I usually order a half cold sandwich because I once ordered the large and it was big enough to feed an entire family. I also recommend trying the homemade Mac and cheese if you haven't tried it yet. The disco fries are out of this world. They also have an excellent delivery service when you can't get there you can call them and place an order, and for the phone shy customers you can place an order through grub hub and get it delivered to their door without talking to anyone. The Thanksgiving dinner from Marco's was the best we've had--the turkey was perfectly cooked and juicy, the mashed potatoes were delicious and REAL potatoes, the sweet potatoes, stuffing, and vegetables were well-seasoned, and the pumpkin pie was the perfect ending. Had the chance to go back and try a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. At around 10am on a saturday, the bagel selection was limited and they didn't have everything bagels. When my bagel was being bagged, the guy doing the bagging bled all over the bag and said passively "I knew I cut myself." They rebagged my food so there wasn't blood on it, but I was a little freaked out that blood was involved at all. The sandwich itself looked fine so I ate it. The eggs were well cooked but the bacon was overdone and crunchy. Overall, that experience was a 2. I'll stick to bagel pantry for breakfast. Next time, I ordered delivery and got the super Italian sub. This was really good. Lots of meat tightly fit inside the roll. The bread was soft, which is not my favorite, but it held everything in as I ate so this didn't turn into a mess. Overall, I'd rate this a 4. In town, I'd come here over sub place better, but prefer Craig's Deli II if they are open. read more

I have to give a 3 for a few reasons . They have a large menu & even some vegetarian options which is great . I ordered on grubhub . They called to let me know right away they would be arriving in about an hour they were a little busy . I thought it was great they did that at least to inform me . I ordered a breakfast burrito & although it was okay , it was a little greasy and gave a taste of bacon . I am almost positive they use the same grill for everything or don't wipe down properly after making something . That's a big downfall for me , being a vegetarian I don't want my food to taste like meat & with religious restriction eating definitely not bacon . The mini salads were good , like the cucumber & tomato salad , potato salad & fruit salad were good . They forgot my water . Thankfully we have a water machine at work , but I was charged for water & didn't feel the need to call back and complain about a dollar charge . But water is all I drink so if I wasn't at work with a water fountain this may have been an issue . read more

My wife and I live in Metuchen and were excited to see that Marco's had opened after the previous Deli that was there left, we went today for the first time and were not disappointed at all! We each got a sub ( an egg salad one and a turkey/cheese w/colesaw + russian dressing) and they were both delicious. Everyone working there was super friendly, the prices were affordable and there was a large selection on the menu + a variety of drinks to choose from. They use Boars Head meat which is obviously the best and everything was very fresh and the environment was extremely clean and welcoming. They also sell lottery tickets which is a great bonus and cigarettes if that's your thing. We were also very happy that they take cards and were not cash only like the previous deli that was there.
