Kreplach soup
Adam R.

Came here for a late lunch after a doctor's visit in the area. Good food in an old school type deli. Took me back to my childhood growing up in Brooklyn and working in a similar style deli. Soup was very good, the corned beef was very well prepared on good rye with proper spicy mustard. The square knish was put in the microwave which should be illegal with steep penalties. All in all a good place to fill a craving for a high sodium meal with a little schmaltz. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

I enjoyed my experience here. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. I am excited to return. Always a delight to find a good kosher style deli with the food my grandparents loved! (And I love too!)

Very cute retro sign

Love their comfy and local atmosphere. Server was nice and friendly. Most importantly, their food was amazing. We had a hearty soup with dumplings in the beginning, which was perfect for a bit cold weather, and their famous pastrami sandwich ( junior size). Rye bread is very soft and the meat is juicy, tender, and flavorful. Perfectly cooked. We really enjoyed it Will be back again to try other meat sandwiches for sure!

Absurd pricing for the small size of a sandwich, took forever to get food and extreme anxiety at the front counter. Brisket flavorless and sub par Pastrami was fine but no match for any deli in NYC Pic of $21 brisket and pastrami combo next to a tea sized spoon...

You have a proprietor here who really cares about the quality and freshness of what he puts on the table. This place is a throwback to old deli culture. The corned, beef, pastrami, and chopped liver are absolutely perfect. The prices are reasonable. You can even grab a Chicago style hotdog, which is unusual for a Jewish deli, but very welcome indeed.

Corner beef hash, eggs, home fries, and a short stack of pancakes

Back in NJ for a wedding and glad I got to hit up a diner. It's probably been the better part of 15+ years since I had regularly been in the area and to Goodman's. I've heard the corned beef and pastrami are what's worth checking out. I had the corned beef hash, eggs, home fries, and a short stack on the side. The corned beef was really good. They use a combination of the premade stuff with the tiny potato cubes and then add in large chunks of their corned beef. Big serving of home fries, nice mix of crispy and tender, AND well seasoned! Pancakes were exactly what I was hoping for as well, just fluffy enough.

My family chose this deli soon after arriving to New Jersey from Georgia. We have poor attempts at deli in Atlanta, but nothing like this. We were seated right away as we were early for lunch on a Friday. The one server did his best to keep up with everything. We had the obligatory Dr. Brown's soda. As appetizers, we ordered the lathes and chopped liver. Both delivered as promised, though the liver could've used a bit more seasoning. My wife's half sandwich came with a nice bowl of soup. My daughter ordered the junior pastrami. I had the triple decker with pastrami, corned beef, and tongue. That sandwich came with Russian dressing and cole slaw. This sandwich was huge and tasted like it was from heaven. Nothing beats it. We were going to order a small sandwich to go for my brother, but there was no need due to the size of the sandwiches. The prices are higher than most people expect to pay for a sandwich. However, for this preparation and these portions, this is the price I expect to pay. The ambiance was pretty standard for a deli in a shopping center. Whether you're passing through town or not, Goodman's is a GREAT way to go.

Burnt tenders that are supposedly fine to the owners standard...

The food is obviously a pass/fail when it comes to simple things like this. I buy from here regularly and am happy with my results most of the time. The service from the staff at the counter, Jen, and another female, are both excellent. The owner has an attitude problem, and needs to remember that at the end of the day, his consumers are regulars. And to have an issue like this, where my food is dry, obviously overcooked to the point it's almost burnt, and you're telling me they're both the same? Nahhh... take the loss, replace the food, and respect your customers. One of the reasons I don't like going there, dude destroys the ambiance of a family owned deli. Do better... without the attitude...

Turkey burger. Basic turkey without any added ingredients. Good but could use more spices.
Nancy S.

Now that I've ordered more food from Goodman's, my mind has changed. Their deli meats are great, especially the roast beef. We've never had an incorrect order. The sandwiches are enormous, but they do offer a junior version on some. Still huge! Lol. Go figure, mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce are spot-on delicious! I like that they offer lean corned beef, but we choose the regular, which is lean enough in my opinion. I asked NJ.com to review Goodman's because I keep seeing reviews of other Jewish delis from them, and they skip over this great place. PS: The turkey burger was okay but not enough spices. Their roast turkey is fresh, but as we know, fresh turkey can be dry.

Nice enough people own and work here. The most popular sammich is pastrami. I went with corn beef (lean is +$2 up charge). The matzo ball was pricey as well for a smalp bowl. Sammich was good. To grill the bread they also up charge +$2; bizarre since the bread wasn't toasted. $27 for a small sammich and bowl of soup. Food tasted good. Too many places in the area more affordable.

Super busy lunch spot

The absolute best diner I've been to…read more The place itself is stunning. It's newly renovated but still has a diner feel, just with some upgrades like a live DJ and a solarium-like addition. Parking is also highly convenient. The menu is extensive and I can't wait to go back to try everything they have. There are the classic breakfast items of course, but they also have some innovative dishes or familiar dishes with a spin. I ordered the jerk chicken pasta which was spicy, so flavorful and also a great portion size. Others in our party ordered pancakes, which were so fluffy, eggs, fried chicken, fried catfish and more. Everything was fried to perfection and the catfish tasted like it had literally just jumped out of the ocean. Our waiter was super nice and we had a big party so I'm sure it wasn't easy. My only suggestion is that they make their hot drinks hotter. Other than that, I'd seriously come back every weekend.

READ FULL REVIEW!!!…read more March 2026: First time at this establishment was just ok. Hosted a very small get-together here (5 guest). Atmosphere was nice. Music was wayy too loud to hear the person you're sitting next to. Food was tasty and fresh. Coffee was good with great creamer selection (at the time). Our server was my least favorite part of this experience. He was over the top with his energy and upscale tactics (pushy with getting us to order extra drinks and appetizers despite declining). I was hosting this event and did not need him selling us after already being told "no, thank you" twice. It was awkward and ultimately changed the vibe. He hardly checked on us after that encounter and we constantly had to remind them about request that were never brought out to the table. Staff needs to be trained better. This was just an ok experience. April 2026 : What ultimately lead me to write this review was my 2nd experience at this diner. The server was a lot better than our first experience, but we did run into a few too many problems. First, we ordered coffee and are informed that per managements request, we can only have half-half or cream with our coffee. Previously they had French vanilla creamers and other flavored creamers but I guess management decided to save on the additional cost. This was a bummer especially realizing that they could easily afford creamers. This restaurant easily pulls at least $150,000 per week in revenue, so I didn't understand cheapening out like that. I still ordered the coffee. When it came to the table I added the cream into the cup only to find something floating in the coffee. I send it back and ask for a new cup, which the server politely provided. We order our meals and all goes well. Eventually two of the three meals come out and we wait for the final plate to come out. It's common courtesy to wait for everyone to have their meal before eating, so we wait. We wait about 6-7 minutes and the final plate comes out only for it to be cold. All of us ordered breakfast, so you can imagine trying to eat cold egg, potato, and sausage. We ask for the waiter, but before he could get to us the manager passes by and we let him know the issue. He takes the plate to the back and about two minutes later he comes back with the same exact plate. Before the manager arrived to take the plate away, I saw the guest split the egg half and add black pepper on everything so we knew it was the same plate and food she started eating off of that was reheated onto the kitchen grill where other food is being prepared for guest. The manager informs us that he had the chef heat the food up on the griddle and that it should be a perfect temperature. We refuse to accept the plate because it was reheated and not remade entirely. We were shocked that this was the solution even being offered. Reheating food on the griddle seemed unsafe (contamination risk, diseases, illness, etc) and offensive. No one pays these prices to have reheated breakfast served to them. I could've just made that at home for a fraction of the price. We politely refuse the reheated plate and he apologized and took the plate to the back. The server comes over to see what the issue is and we explain everything. He says that he will look into it and take that meal off the bill. Now I'm frustrated because one out of the three of us aren't eating anything and the experience was off. At this point, I'm not eating my meal but the 3rd guest is eating. So the guest who sent their plate back and myself are waiting for the 3rd guest to finish their pancakes. He ordered a stack of 4-5 chocolate chip pancakes and was happily eating away at layer by layer. Eventually he gets to the last 2 pancakes and before he adds syrup he notices what appeared to be an eyelash or short piece of hair imbedded in the pancake. Picture of the clearly imbedded hair included with this review. He immediately stopped eating and looks sick. He had already eaten 3-4 pancakes by then and the idea that he ate more of whatever that was felt unnerving, to say the least. We both start looking to see what he's looking at and long behold the hair was there. At this point we are extremely frustrated and completely over this experience. Management did not make this experience right even after addressing all of these issues both separately and together. I felt like my money was not valued and my business certainly wasn't. They did nothing to remedy these issues and I will NOT be going back to this establishment. This restaurant may look visually beautiful but the service is not. Staff needs more training, music needs to be turned down, chefs need to wear hairnets and everyone needs to follow safe food handling skills. You're putting your guest and your business at risk ignoring these issues. I really really wish I had a better experience.

The past few times we came over the past few years it seemed "off", but this time...I'm just sad. But before I get into the food thing, I want to address the service. We had to wait a few minutes for someone to wait on us at the bar since no one was attending it, but once they knew we were there, they checked on us, and it was good. So please don't get upset, it just may take someone a minute to see you there. The table service was impeccable, seriously wonderful table service...he didn't miss a beat. Now for the food: I suppose it depends on what you order, or maybe it's hit or miss these days? My Pastrami Reuben had super thick slices that were tough, making it hard to chew, and had no flavor. Members of my party had a chicken BLT and a burger, and both were ok flavor-wise, but very dry, making them hard to get through. Just taking a little bite of their sandwiches was enough for me. However, another member had flatbread, and it was fine. Fries were served cold and had zero flavor. We've had the same flavorless and tough food experiences the past few times we have eaten here over the past few years. The presentation is good, but once it hits the lips, mouth, and teeth, you get the real story. The beer is always cold though! The prices are fair, and the atmosphere is unique, although the toy train near the ceiling doesn't seem to be working anymore. Although I didn't get dessert this time, the desserts are normally good. There is more than ample parking, and depending on how you drive here, it can be a little tricky getting to. Follow the GPS if you aren't from around here. This diner is supposed to be the best 24-hour diner, and I'm not sure why. Again, service was wonderful, but if the food isn't always good or flavorful, then why? And for me as a customer, presentation is nice, but I care about the flavor and texture, otherwise...why bother?

It was very salty, no beans, no tomatoes. My Party Melt, always a hit, was cooked to perfection alongside the fresh-cut, homemade fries. Next time, I'll stick to the favorites that I know I will like. This one-off doesn't stop me from returning to this casual comfort diner.
