We made an intentional stop here from Manhattan because Craft Bagels was our favorite stand at the NYC Bagel Fest 2026! However, the bagels in the store were not good... The bagels looked plump and great but turned out to be extremely dry! We enjoyed the apple french toast special but it also seemed like it was sitting out for too long when we stopped by around 12. No place to sit. No bathroom inside. read more

One of my favorite spots to hit up when I am in the area. Their bagel maker has been doing it a long time and used to be at Bagel Cafe in NP. Same owners of the place next door - Fable & Flame. Anyway - always fresh bagels. Especially enjoy the jalapeno. Their coffee is no syrup brewed flavors. My favorite is Jamaican Me Nuts. Worth a stop in if you are in the area. ENJOY! read more

The bagels are always fresh, fluffy and have the right chew always. Service is great from the chefs to the front staff and the girl at the register is always are so nice about giving our lil one a ducky during our visits :) it makes his day The inside is always kept clean and they decorate for the different times of the year. Berkeley Heights definitely found itself a gem and permanent Bagel staple for downtown which we're pumped about. Bagels are great but in-store service is very bad. This bagel store has a great product but sadly its operations and staff hasn't kept up with their growth. Unorganized teenagers trying their best to keep up with a line out the door and DoorDash drivers yelling over the counter in a cramped standing area isn't a recipe for long term success. read more

We split two bagels. She loved the everything bagel bacon, egg and cheese. Also she likes that they gave you the "right amount " of cream cheese on the second bagel. Stopped at this location as I was in the area. Ordered a THEC SPK, coffee and pumpkin French toast bagel with butter. The service was decent. The bagel was excellent. The coffee was Jamaica me nuts and very good. The ambiance was that of a bagel shop. No place to eat inside. The THEC SPK was mediocre. The Taylor ham was cooked well with char which is good. There were 2 eggs on the roll but the cheese wasn't melted. The SPK I could actually taste pepper. The roll was too big for the egg sandwich. It tasted good but there a lot of room for improvement. I'll be back only for the coffee and bagels not for the egg sandwiches. I'm on the fence if I should recommend. I recommend for the bagels. read more

Craft bagel has to have some of the most mid bagels out there and they STAY messing up my orders. I ordered a bacon and egg on a plain bagel online pick it up and come to find out they put cheese on it too. I'm not a picky person but i'm LACTOSE INTOLERANT and will get sick if I eat it. Typical bagel joint with a small space and self-serve coffee machines. I got a medium container of cream cheese and lox spread: good cream cheese, but the lox is AWOL. Had to call to place order because app was not working. Their online menu needs to be fixed cause you can't see parts of it. Ordered my fries well done and they were practically raw. Glad I opened the container before I drove all the way home. When I brought them back, had to tell the girl taking orders "no you can't put those back in the oil, I want a fresh batch". Also, I had to tell them to pack my fries since I was standing there waiting for them...they were out of the fryer and just sitting there. After ordering ahead and having a quick transaction, I was not thrilled about waiting because of their screw up. Don't serve raw fries. The bagel sandwich was very good, but I still won't go back when there are other bagel stores nearby. read more

Walking into this place in the morning is amazing, the smell of fresh bagels being cooked in the back is the best thing ever. Their bagel sandwiches are always fresh, and the quality of the bagels themselves are unmatched. Certainly my go-to and favorite breakfast sandwich shop, and it's not even close. read more

Let me start with one word...Amazing! Crunchy on the outside fluffy light on the inside. These are not your average hockey pucks you get at those two overcrowded mosh pit bagel joints in New Providence. They don't stop at bagels they also offer a dozen different CC's. Try the Bacon Jalapeño! I pass three different bagel shops to get here but it is worth it.....not all bagels are created equal. Wow, the bagels here are amazing and delicious, I've tried many bagels before, but this place is truly bagel heaven.I've been there when they have a line out the door, and when I head to the counter when my order is complete, whoever is there always greats me with a smile. Now these are some good looking bagels! I have to say the 1st time we ordered from here we were super impressed by the quality and size of the bagel. Definitely a go to breakfast spot for us. To get messed up and we get the wrong bagel or the wrong spread. Everything is delicious but it's a bummer when you don't get something you want. I think this is the best cinnamon raisin bagel I've had in New Jersey. They actually put a decent amount of raisins in it, haha. Same thing with all of their other baseballs they really don't skin on skim on the flavor or extra in that bagel. I love that we have a local spot that's so great! read more

The gluten free bagels here used to be good but they must have changed which brand they use. The new gluten free bagels are flat and tiny. Super disappointing and it seems like they put less on them because they are smaller. read more

Really great traditional bagels. Crunchy outside and perfect texture. A large variety of flavors and a full sandwich menu. Several homemade cream cheese mixes, all of which are quite good too. went for the first time today with my boyfriend. i ordered a hashbrown, bacon & cheese on an everything bagel, i saw the attendant write my exact order down perfectly which she certainly has no fault for and was very sweet. After waiting a few minutes, we get back to the car to start eating and my bagel is completely missing the hashbrown. I should also add that prior to getting our bagels, another attendant had recited my order word for word. the bagel being mediocre and on top of that missing the best part of the entire sandwich due to lack of interest or care of the cooks makes me not want to go back. read more

Great bagels and sandwiches but the last few times I've placed a phone order my items were wrong. Today I ordered a BLT on rye toast with mayo and a bacon, egg and cheese on rye toast with SPK. I got the right BLT but also got another BLT but with ketchup. Very frustrating. Not sure how someone would even make that sandwich without re-reading the order. Really hope this gets better because I'm considering going elsewhere. read more

Definitely has gone down hill. If there are three customers in your store and there's five people working the very least you could do is make a decent sandwich. I will not be returning to Goodmans. I do not recommend it. The place is empty, dingy, and the food was garbage.

Walked in for the first time today; excited to try them out, given the fact that they'll go out of business soon as every other shop on this strip... no one at the counter. Waited a good 6-7 minutes, another person entered the door and a bell sounded to alert that another customer entered. Still nothing. The guy makes eye contact with me and looks like he chose the wrong side job. So I leave and no bagel 4 me . Nice employees ! read more

Somewhat strong, somewhat not. Subpar successful. Borderline handsome. Leaning ugly, but it's a thin border and it depends on the day. It doesn't depend on the day, but let me live. Anyways... I was extremely excited upon finding that there were not 1 but 2 locations near the fields of which I was partitioning. And so ventured to this growing venture I did. I rammed head first into the glass door; however, I was best to the punch by a lovely family. I pummeled them to the ground. Somebody copped a feel but I acted like I didn't notice. Life of a Lobstah. Anyways I back-spring off the floor into a split lunge up into a squat and out into a Mr. Clean crossover stance, finalize it all with the MJ shrug. Don't believe it if you must - But you need to start exercising trust. You know what I'm talking about. Your therapist(s) say the same. Anyways... the menu is intimidating so I decided to keep it somewhat simple, I guess. Chicken - Bacon - Egg and Cheese on a sesame bagel. Marvelous. More places should do it, but not every runner is a sprinter. The cutlet was more of a juicy tender which surprised me but also made me very happy. The O'Bagel sauce was creamy, great texture and really subtle but noticeable strength in flavor. The bagel was also solid size, good crunch and nice softness. It was all very good. But, I think it's still moving towards greatness. Truth be told - I need to try more of their beautifully crafted and thoughtful creations. If I were in the area, I'd go here a good amount. This is a case where something unfortunately didn't over succeed on the hype but did probably meet the hype. I left happy - content - with no traces of tears (at least because of them... tears for other reasons? Maybe.... I found out my new pet pink panther is not actually pink. Nor is it a panther. I've already said too much...) I respect the grind, and I firmly believe that the potential of this chain is greater than 5 out of 5. I think they are scratching the surface of the moon. Itching a crater, planting a flag, pushing against gravity. Im thinkin collabs. I'm thinkin more sandwiches. More meals. More pastries. I'm thinking that I'll be following along closely from a far, from time to time, here and there, on occasion... but on occasion nonetheless. To lead, one must learn to follow. Unfortunately, that also means that the prices are somewhat higher than you might expect. A single deli sandwich served with a small bag of potato chips is in the $20-$22 range, which feels like a bit of a splurge for a casual lunch. That said.. I do feel obligated to point out that Goldberg's should be rated as a $$ / moderate price range (indicating $11 to $30 per person) rather than a $ / inexpensive price range (indicating under $10 per person). PRO TIP #2: While they don't have a private lot, there is plenty of on-street parking and municipal lots nearby. Use the mPay2Park app for the pay-by-plate meters ($0.50 per hour). Meters operate Monday through Saturday from 8am to 7pm; all street meters are free after 7 pm and all day Sunday. If the street is full, the Essex Street parking deck (24 Lackawanna Place) is a reliable backup.

She cheerfully regaled the weary line by raving she can't find any good bagels in Connecticut so when she's in Chatham town, she loads up on these. True to her word, she left with a sack of 'em. She had also ordered ahead but waited in line anyway - polite is fantastic. Guy next to her on line engaged her about Fairfield Connecticut where his son went to college. He crowed in a friendly way that his son encountered "like minded people" at the local college m and that was soon followed by mentioning Wall Street jobs and his son's "sugar momma". Why do I mention the on-line patter banter? Because it illustrated how Chatham types are generally convivial so I'd expect no less friendly chit chat if you go to Chstham Bagels and if you happen to be "like minded", of course. Blabbing passed the time while the two quiet Chatham Bagel men were working their tails off cranking out all orders fresh. Lastly? I just finished my bagel sandwich and pretty darn good!
