I am a repeater here I love the Metuchen area. I frequent here a lot and they have great Matcha, coconut, lavender and I believe some others. The women there are always so nice and you don't feel rushed. The food is always delicious. Oh and it's BYOB. It is a must try. I usually have breakfast this time I decided to try lunch and again they did not disappoint. The ambience and decor is Paris themed of course.I mean who doesn't love a cute cafe with great food.

    agneau roti and eggs benedict

I've been meaning to visit Café Paris for years, so I was excited to finally go first thing on a Sunday morning. The interior is cute with walls painted to look like France with outdoor seating as well. I ordered the eggs benedict and my boyfriend got the agneau roti. I liked that the eggs benedict was on a croissant rather than an English muffin to seem more French, but other than that it was pretty average. My boyfriend was not a fan of his agneau roti as the lamb seemed unseasoned and drowned in sauce. Overall, I'm glad I tried Café Paris, but I probably will not be coming back.

This place is a small gem. This is located in downtown Metuchen. Never been to Paris but the walls are decorative to make you feel you're in Paris. Nice ambiance. Great and friendly service. I had the omelette aux broccolis. Really tasty with sweet potato fries. Also the chicken baguette w/chicken was delicious. Will definitely. Street meter parking.

We had late lunch here. Busy place on a weekday. I ordered Wild Caught Salmon Burger. Wifey ordered Smoked Salmon, see pics. They're delicious and healthy. Friendly serving staff. Clean and well decorated place. But not good for intimate dining. Also, pls double chk your bill before you sign, if you're paying with credit card. There's 3.99% fee. The tip is already included on the total bill without my knowledge, until I asked for the bill's breakdown, very deceiving.

We strolled in because it was the only place for brunch that had an open table for us. The ambiance isn't cohesive. The murals on the wall are beautiful, but the lighting was overbearing, and the music was too loud and made it difficult to chat. The service and the food were both fine. We ordered the quiche, the croissant sandwich, and the specialty pancakes from the fall menu. The pancakes felt like they were frozen and heated in a microwave, with a pretty syrup which was yummy. We felt the same way about some sides. The sandwich looked good put in the panini press! Everything came out at separate times, so we all at separately, with sides and drinks coming all at different times as well. This might be better for grab & go coffee and tea, but its definitely not for us. The menu is too long and its spreading themselves thin... Note: Cash is preferred.

Very good, standard breakfast and lunch options. They take resy and were able to accommodate 6 of us for brunch. It was great. Omelettes, croissant sandwiches and crepes were all very good. They also have chai latte, coffee, cappuccino's etc. service was good. Would recommend if you need a quick bite!

Food and service was pretty good. The lattes came out nice and hot but not scolding hot so you can drink it in the winter immediately without burning your tongue. My friend got a dessert crepe with strawberries and bananas. For me I got the savory type crepe they had with spicy sausage. The fries are delicious btw. So check the place out. Just fyi wifi is not great. If you here to give tho and catch up with a friend it is amazing.

Had a cozy brunch during the weekend and the service here is impressive. I had a special order of smoked salmon with poached egg and spinach on the toast, and it was delicious! The portion of the brunch dish was very generous and you will leave with satisfaction. We've been coming to Cafe Paris for years and always had a wonderful experience. Love this cute spot.

    3. Galette Exotique spicy sausage

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. It was decorated for Valentine's Day. This place will always hold a special place in ours hearts because this is where my wife and I had our first date and where I proposed to her. I ordered the galette exotique which came with sausage, roasted red peppers, sour cream, grated cheese and topped with an egg. This was one of the best galettes I've had. It was filled end to end and the flavors were rich and balanced. My wife got the sandwich Au crabe on a croissant. The sandwich came with crab cakes, fresh mozzarella, lettuce and tomatoes. This was just okay because the crab cake wasn't very flavorful. The fries and sweet potato fries that the meals came with for $1 up charge were also pretty good. The star of the show was dessert. We ordered the crepe chocolat d'amour which was filled with fresh strawberries, Nutella, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. We ordered one to share but after tasting it, we definitely could've eaten one each. The crepe texture was thin and chewy and the strawberries were sweet and slightly tart to balance all the richness of the chocolate and Nutella. Definitely a must order!

Seasonal breakfast option: broccoli Frittata with fresh fruit or salad for sides (I ordered both sides). Delicious!!

Staff was friendly and welcoming, service was prompt, food was delicious! I ordered the fall seasonal latte, pumpkin pie latte, YUM!! (forgot to take a picture). I would definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to friends.

Great large portions for very reasonable prices. The food was top notch and immediate seating on sunday during prime breakfast time versus waiting 1 hr+ for hatch 44 or le peep. Definitely adding this gem to the brunch list =)

    3. Paris French Onion Soup- no cheese at all and burned bits of onion.
    C G.

Ordered via Uber Eats but I went out of town the next day so Uber wouldn't give me credit and can't review. The whole meal was just disappointing and honestly not worth it. The Large "Fresh OJ" tasted like I just opened a carton of concentrate- I dumped it out after 1 sip- yuck! The Crepe Suzette- (reason why I ordered here- had a craving figured try a new place) the crepe was the right color on outside but the folded up inside was burned- the sauce was basically melted orange marmalade with a few bits of fresh orange peel- as it cooled the jelly got hard. To charge $13.99 For ONE burned crepe with jelly inside and out is beyond disappointing. Finally, the French Onion Soup- ZERO melty cheese on top of the bread- NONE. The onions were burned and the broth had no flavor. Total fail. The "appetizers" consist of items like mashed potatoes, onion rings, egg rolls and steamed broccoli etc -side dishes. I should've known then that this place is completely disjointed. Really disappointed with this restaurant

    1. Croque Madame with an Egg on top

What a fabulous little cafe right in my neck of the woods in Central Jersey! I gotta tell you, there are a lot of other brunch spots in the surrounding area but this was such a pleasant surprise. I have to say I don't under why there are so many negative reviews but I truly had a wonderful experience! Located on Main Street in Metuchen, you have to opt for street parking but it's available. We were seated immediately in this extremely cute cafe with Parisian decor. Our waiter was barking orders in French, which is very on brand for a Parisian cafe. I love that they have non dairy options for coffee and I love that the menu is big but not too big. My husband got the croque madame and I ordered the chicken sandwich with avocado. The croque madame was decent. And my chicken sandwich was excellent and perfect. Honestly, I had nothing to complain about. The chicken breast was juicy, the avocado was fresh. The side of fruit was a delight. Truly have very little complaints. We also tried the chocolate cake which was very good. The pricing was also very reasonable and the service was great. It comfort a little busy as we were leaving but honestly, we were seated on time, served on time, given the check on time. Cannot wait to come back!

    3. Avocado Toast with bacon served with hash browns (can sub for turkey bacon!) 5. French toast ( pain perdu ) comes with bacon

Both were delicious. We also tried the escargot in garlic and parsley infused butter. While I personally prefer my escargot tucked into puff pastry hats which is a quirky preference, I know my boyfriend at the time thoroughly enjoyed them. For mains we had a beautifully cooked rack of lamb, a flavorful confit duck, and a mushroom risotto. While I found the entrées slightly under salted, the flavors were still wonderful and the cooking was spot on. We finished with two desserts which were a silky creme brulee and a perfectly risen souffle. Both were outstanding and worth saving room for. Overall Chez Catherine is a charming choice for a refined special occasion, 'old school' traditional French meal. The service, attention to detail, and classic flavors make it well worth a visit.

During this visit, the plating of some of the dishes was odd, as whomever did it felt the need to position the food right at the edge of the plates. That made it difficult to eat the dishes without some of the food spilling off the side. Had to push everything to center to avoid this. Again, this was very odd, as it happened on two entrees and one dessert dish and was the first time we've seen this at Faubourg. The lamb duo had a fantastic grilled flavor, but part of it (I believe it may have been shank meat) was loaded with so much salt that it overwhelmed the flavors and was a bit difficult to continue eating. The last comment is admittedly nitpicky, but worth mentioning, as they automatically added a 20% gratuity despite the menu stating that 20% is added for parties of 6 or more. We were a party of two and I was a bit annoyed that they did this. The check also had a place for "additional tip", which was a bit presumptuous after adding the 20%. Overall, the experience was positive with a few hiccups that prevent me from giving 5 stars. Still highly recommended.

No one offered to refill our waters and we had to ask for bread service after realizing we had been forgotten about. I can forgive slow service, however. What I can't forgive is whoever looked at the portions they were serving last night and decided (1) that this was enough to feed someone, and (2) that it was worth charging $120 a head. I mean, we were literally paying $30 a plate for a single piece of food! Who serves a single scallop or a single lamb rib? Did they overbook and run out of food?
