Come visit ASAP! What a shiny new gem in Dunellen! Wow.. I grew up in this town and always wanted a place *just* *like* *this.* There is ample seating -- so many different options (group seating, booth study seating and even high top options). Totally a welcoming and inviting space -- staff are beyond friendly and ready to serve you with a smile. I ordered a vanilla iced latte which was delicious. They have lavender, caramel, hazelnut and vanilla flavors (for now) and all the staple coffee options. Lots of delicious looking homemade pastries -- and special Peruvian empanadas (even a Kale empanada?!?) that are incredible! There's places to charge (such an important aspect of a coffee shop) via USB, regular plug and even USB-C! One of my favorite aspects.. they use coffee sourced from a local coffee shop -- Queen City Roasters. Love local supporting local -- and on that note, my study trips to Starbucks have completely been replaced! Found my new coffee nook. Also lots of street parking (metered) and a quick walk from anywhere in downtown Dunellen.

I had this today a yummy pork sandwich and juice

What a gem Jackie's Sweets is! The name is perfectly fitting, not just for the yummy pastries and…read morecakes, but for the delightful staff as well. This was my second visit, and once again, everyone was incredibly patient and nice. The atmosphere is bright yet cozy, they have plenty of books and a lot of room to catch up with friends or settle in for some work. This time around, we tried the Coco Cloud Matcha. If you enjoy fun and funky beverages, this is a must; it's a blend of coconut water and matcha that somehow tastes sweet and milky while remaining both rich and refreshing. I'm not sure how they pull it off, but I'm obsessed! If you prefer a more traditional option, the Strawberry Matcha is a decadent choice, I love that you can actually taste the fresh strawberry compote. We also had the Tres Leches Coffee, which featured a perfect balance of creaminess and bold espresso notes. We ordered it hot this time, and while I personally find it ideal iced, it's wonderful that it works so well both ways. For treats, we chose the Dulce de Leche cake. While the sponge wasn't quite as moist as I expected, the overall flavor was superb, especially with the addition of the meringue. To balance the sweetness with something salty, we added a savory spinach and feta pastry. Definitely ask for it to be heated for the best experience! Not pictured, but equally noteworthy, were the empanadas. They offer both beef and chicken, served with a delicious green cilantro sauce. Whether you need a quick caffeine stop or a productive place to get some work done, Jackie's Sweets is the place to be!

We tried both the original and the pineapple versions, and they were incredibly well done--perfectly moist, flavorful, and balanced without being overly sweet. The hospitality of the owner made the experience even better. The environment was warm, welcoming, and really pleasant. I went with a friend, and we ended up staying a bit longer because it's just a great space to relax. We also had coffee, and I highly recommend the mocha latte--smooth, rich, and the perfect complement to the cake. There are so many tempting choices, and overall it's just a great place to visit. Especially during the winter months, this is a cozy spot to hang out, enjoy great desserts, and feel welcomed. Highly recommend Jackie's Sweets.

Medium draft list but with bottle and can options too. Had the cape May double IPA 16 oz. 1. Pepperoni hot honey white pizza - Usually not a fan of white pizza but this was a 12" size pizza that I finished in one go. Cheese was not too heavy but has a nice sweetness a very mild spice. 2. Garlic parm chicken strips - Very flavorful. Comes with truffle fries. The sauce is over the strips. Four pieces which is an ample amount. Overall, good first time here. Highly recommended but salty so drink plenty of fluids. Will be back again to try other food items!

Our group of 3 throughly enjoyed the happy hour specials and pricing as well as the winter specials. Our server (Mike?) was super friendly and attentive. Beverages: Apple pie old fashioned and sangria The sangria was excellent. My husband thought the old fashioned tasted like pure sugar (I guess to be expected for apple pie). Beer was his preferred beverage of choice. App: Chips and queso! --Always a good choice Entrees: Short rib burger, bbq boneless wings, killer b pizza, side salad (for balance). --All throughly enjoyed and would recommend. The pizza was super fresh and the crust was cooked to perfection. Not too soft, not too crunch. (No one wants a soggy pizza). Also noteworthy, the pepperoni cups. :) If you're looking for casual, relaxed sophistication and a good happy hour deal, you've found your spot.

In any case, I have tried the following and everything has been great: Mini Bandeja Paisa, Bandeja Paisa, Filete al Ajillo, all of the bakery items except the churros, and the fruit juices with water). All in all, I really like this place and it reminds me of the places I would at with my family in Popayan. Thank you again for the lovely service!
