A13 Xôi Chiên - Crispy Sticky Rice
Noor D.

The Pho was subpar, but the spicy sticky rice was delicious. The inside is extremely stunning as they have plenty of plants in the restaurant. Nice place to go when you are craving a bowl of Pho

Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Service was attentive. Summer rolls, beef pho, quail, bua luc lac .. would order it all again. We came around 2pm and place was full of other diners.

Pho Your Way: brisket, rare steak, beef ball

So our family decided to give this spot another try and hoping for better food quality than our first visit a year ago.... We came on Wednesday night which happens to be their Pho special night - $10 for Pho your way. You get to select three proteins. I got the brisket, rare steak and beef ball. Hey, it's pho so get the beef! The broth was decent - not great not bad but okay. The dipping hoisen and siracha was available but very low stocked. We asked for more and they did restocked but very little. We ordered what's supposed to be bot chien - it is a popular Vietnamese street food dish made from a block of steamed rice flour and tapioca starch that is cut into cubes, pan-fried until crispy, and then scrambled with eggs and green onions. Well, it's nothing like it unfortunately. I taste mainly fried eggs with some green onions. It lacks the carbs and the crispy texture. I think if I'm stuck on a pinch and craving pho, I might stop by again but with so many other Vietnamese restaurant, it's probably not worth the visit especially when parking is a nightmare at this shopping center.

My husband and I recently visited for a birthday dinner for our nine-year-old, who absolutely loves Vietnamese pho--and this spot did not disappoint! We loved that it's a BYOB restaurant, and even better, there's a store just a few doors down where you can conveniently grab a bottle to bring in. They'll open it and serve it for you, which was a really nice touch. The menu is extensive, with plenty of appetizers to choose from. Portions were fair, the food was fresh, and every bite was packed with flavor. Our server was incredibly kind and attentive--he made sure our kids, my husband, and I were taken care of the entire time, and we truly appreciate that level of service. I also want to highlight how clean and beautifully decorated the restaurant is. They've done an excellent job with the ambiance, and it made the experience even better. We'd love to come back and try more from the menu. Check out our photos and videos to see what we ordered!

Grilled pork banh mi- lacks meat

$17 Pho your way flavor is a little bland and lacking any fragrance or aroma. They do not provide a lot of the side dish (bean sprouts, lime, basil) that usually goes into your noodle soups. The amount of meat they give per bowl is decent, could definitely be a little more but nothing to complain about. Their $10 Banh Mi - grilled pork- flavor is good but a third of it is bread sadly. It's a decent meal, not bad, but not good for the price. Not worth waiting more than 10 minutes to be seated as there are plenty of Viet restaurants in Edison. The location is conveniently located inside the Hmart plaza though, so if you're already in the area and craving viet food it's not the worst idea.

Beef pho (added bok choy)

The appetizers were good. We got the savory mini pancakes and crispy rice with salmon. But the beef pho was life changing & I'm not exaggerating. I added bok choy to mine. The broth was so flavorful and the beef also & very tender. I'd have this every week if I were local.

Battled the HMart parking lot to come to Lua Vietnamese Cuisine in Edison. While the ambiance was nice, the overall experience was underwhelming. *FOOD* The food itself was okay. We tried the Banh Xeo ($15) which I think could be improved if the crepe part was not soggy from the watery bean sprouts and onions. The Pho Lua / Beef Noodle Soup ($18) was decent and the broth flavorful. It came with an ample variety of meats, though can be a bit pricey. IMO I think you're mostly paying for the nice ambiance here. *SERVICE* Service was mediocre. While dishes came out a decent pace, we weren't greeted warmly, and it didn't seem like they were particularly attentive or enthusiastic towards customers either. Everything about this place is just ok. Overall, it was just an average spot for me. There are other Viet spots in Edison that offer better value and more personable service.

Lua Vietnamese Cuisine is such a solid find--especially if you're craving pho on a budget. I came in for a quick dinner and left feeling full, happy, and already planning my next visit. For our appetizer, the summer rolls were fresh, tightly wrapped, and came with a classic peanut hoisin sauce that balanced everything out. A perfect light starter. The $10 pho is the star of the menu. While I found the broth a bit on the lighter side--less depth than some traditional spots--the noodles were still flavorful, comforting, and honestly hard to beat for the price. The portion was generous, and the meat was tender and fresh. For ten bucks? Yes please! I also tried the ube coconut coffee, and yum! Creamy, slightly sweet, and with that signature Vietnamese coffee punch--it's like dessert in a cup, but not overly rich. Definitely something I'd go back for alone if in the area. The space is clean, modern, and relaxed, and the staff were kind and helpful. Great for a casual meal that won't drain your wallet. Would give it 5 stars if the broth had a bit more depth--but for $10? Still totally worth it.

R2 Com Suon Nuong - Grilled Pork Chop Over Rice

Update-February 23, 2025 We went for Sunday lunch here. We ordered grilled Pork Chop plates and mini pancakes appetizer. The food taste great. Our Server was friendly and helpful. Very clean and nice ambiance. Lots of parking, but on Sundays it's very hard to get parking.

very beautiful atmosphere. delicious food and friendly staff. my nephew tried the summer roll for the first time and loves it

Veggies Pho

We ordered 2 Kids meal grilled pork chops, grilled chicken Pho soup, beef pho soup, veggies pho soup. For apps, we ordered spring rolls and summer rolls. The pork chops were delicious. Perfect portions for someone who doesn't eat much. The apps were made perfectly. The spring rolls were delicious. All our 3 Pho soups were good. Especially the grilled chicken pho. They used the same marinates as the pork chops. Overall all, we will come here again! Also, hot tea is free! The service was quick.

My sister and I dropped in for a quick lunch. The restaurant was really clean and inviting. The as soon as you walk in the staff welcomes you in. It was a little of a struggle because he was unsure of the menu. We ordered the seafood fried rice, which he stated only had shrimp..... this was false because it had shrimp, squid, imitation crab ans some find of fish ball. My sister didn't like it. The pho broth was super flavorful. The porkchops were yummy but a little over cooked. I will be back to try other options

Ba vi
Priscilla P.

The ba vi was absolutely delicious. It comes with grilled pork (nicely flavored, slightly charred, not too fatty), beef in grape leaves (juicy, flavorful - my favorite part of the dish), and minced shrimp packed together in a fried ball (very good as well). The pho was also good - a little bit on the lighter side, but was well portioned. They have Pho Wednesdays, which has a discount on Pho (the one where you pick your toppings manually).

Was expecting these eggs, not normal eggs

Went for an early lunch with my wife who had hot chocolate, samosas, and a chicken patty. I had Anda Paratha which is a spiced egg mixture wrapped in a flatbread with onions and cilantro. I also got a beef patty, kashmiri Chai, and Shireens cookie with chocolate chips, oats, and walnuts. The beef and chicken patties were seasoned very well and had a flaky, buttery crust that was light and delicious. Samosas was also very good. Patties and Samosa came with a savory cilantro chutney and a sweet brown dipping sauce. Both sauces were great and went well with the food. Wife loved her hot chocolate and my Kashmiri Chai was rich and decadent topped with finely chopped pistachios. Fahana (I hope I remembered her name correctly and spelled it right) suggested I have the cookie warmed in the oven. I did and thanked her for the tip because the cookie was awesome! I remember they had a small room off to the right and there was really no one in that room, and then I realized it was an acai bar where you can get an acai bowl. In warmer weather, they have an acai bar, which is such a cool option to have inside a cafe. It is closed during cold months. My friends got desserts and coffee, and I got an acai bowl and some plain tea with almond milk. The acai bowl was not huge, but it was definitely very good and very filling. I loved the granola. I got acai, granola, fruit, and nut butter, and I really liked it a lot. I was full and happy because being vegan and gluten-free, there are not a lot of options for me later in the evening. While we were sitting and eating, we noticed there was a small prayer room in the back. We were curious, so we went in and took a look, and I thought it was really nice that they have that space as part of the cafe. It looked like there was a holy book, I believe the Quran, and there was a small, quiet area where someone can sit and pray. I thought that was such a unique and lovely touch to honor someone's religious convictions. Overall, I loved this place, and I plan to go back the next time I'm in New Brunswick.

The Pink Coconut ($7.50) was delicious and very refreshing, and honestly not a bad price at all for the location. The pistachio milk cake ($8) tasted like a pistachio version of tres leches, it wasn't my personal favorite, but still enjoyable. The pistachio ricotta cake ($8) was the standout for me; you could really taste the nuttiness and the ricotta, and it was beautifully done. We also had the baklava (2 for $5), which was reasonably priced and decent, though a bit harder than I prefer. Overall, this is a must-try spot with great drinks, lots of space, and solid desserts. My only small wish is that the food wasn't served in to-go containers, but I understand it since the setup seems more self-serve. Still very much worth a visit.
