    Mocha
    Susie D.

Ordered the iced mocha and it was delicious! Came here with my friend for a coffee chat - she ordered the iced tiramisu and bulgogi sandwich - next time I'm ordering both of those because her food looked amazing! The flavors are great. To top it all off the service is great and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the cafe itself is spacious with ample space to work or just chill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

4.5 stars Semicolon is a Korean franchise and they have other locations in New York and New Jersey. I believe this used to be café benne but a few years ago changed to Semicolon Cafe. Location: Downtown George Street. It doesn't have a convenient spot to pull over so it's best to walk over if you live downtown or park in a nearby parking lot or if you can get a street parking off of George Street. The café: This has an open and large space. There's a good amount of tables and chairs and they're spread out throughout the café and on the second level. Food and drinks: I love getting the lady Matcha, but they have other coffee or specialty drinks/smoothies on their menu. I love to get the SOS or avocado sandwich. The milk bread is so fluffy and I love the kewpie mayo. Sometimes when you order to go or take away, it can get a little soggy, but I just pop it into the toaster oven. The sandwiches are around $9 and the Lady Matcha is $7. This is my go to splurge when I want to treat myself as when you order delivery through GrubHub/Yelp, it can cost almost $30! But for me it's totally woe My experiences: I've gone here during the summer and did a little bit of work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While they do have air conditioning, it was not ice cold, like typical coffee shops. So just keep that in mind in case you easily overheat. I think because the space is so open and long, heating and cooling can be all over the place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is friendly and service has been good when I've ordered to go or dined in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I think they've created a nice community, which is always great to have at a local coffee shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They even have cute Jibbitz and kawaii stickers for sale. I was really tempted to buy some, but knew that I didn't need it. I'll definitely be back when I'm craving one of their sandwiches and I hope to try other items from the menu.

Lady Matcha - comes with an edible strawberry straw

I visited this cafe for a quick pick-me-up! I ordered a Lady Matcha (their strawberry matcha) and it was delicious! It came with an edible strawberry candy straw too which I loved lol but drink from it quickly because it does disintegrate into the drink! Super friendly staff and [[HIGHLIGHT]]lots of seating available[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], but metered street parking may be hard to find depending on what time you visit. Highly recommend though :)

    Shroom

I tried Semi Colon for the first time today and OMG... it was amazing!!! I ordered The Shroom and it did not disappoint. It was loaded with mushrooms, arugula, eggs, and a balsamic vinaigrette with truffle sauce, all on perfectly toasted bread. The bread was super soft and seriously delicious. I loved the sauce and honestly just wished there was a little more of it throughout the sandwich. Everything was so flavorful and filling. Easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!

Street parking available. This was a quick pit stop before a conference and I am so glad we got a chance to stop in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a very cute cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]So much space inside you wouldn't know it from the outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do have some food and smoothie selections. I tried their tiramisu latte which was a recommendation from the barista taking the order and it was so good. I highly recommend it!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Semicolon Cafe is one of the coziest and most comfy study spots amidst a pretty busy atmosphere![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were happy to have recently stumbled upon this deceptively big cafe, which has ample seating for relaxing and working.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only encouragement (not a complaint) is that Semicolon holds wells as a study spot, but not as much as a coffee spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's not hard for a cafe to have 10-15 different syrup flavors with which to flavor their coffees, however, we were a bit disappointed that there really weren't too many options here to choose from. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Besides that small critique, if you'd like a place near Rutgers to relax, study, and focus, this can be a great option![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Ham and Egg Sandwich
    Neil M.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of space, tables, great vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The ham and egg sandwich was perfectly balanced with creaminess and tanginess and crunch. The iced latte was quite good too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Perfect space to hang for a while and enjoy some delicious bites.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Got the BELT sandwich and pistachio oatmilk latte. Both were extremely tasty. The bread of the sandwich was buttered and toasted well yet still fluffy. Eggs were super tasty and fluffy but not overly salted which was great because the bacon added a bursts of saltiness. Could have been crispier to add extra textural elements. The latte is a bit on the sweeter end but super creamy. Didn't appreciate coffee flavors much but I think it is more pistachio base with milk. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Space wise - beautiful and roomy. Lots of tables and seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Only open till 3pm

Ummm why did it take so long to find Semicolon Cafe? It was delicious! Was at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick and looking for something to grab quick, close and tasty. Insert Semicolon. It was a close 7 mins walk from the Hyatt and the space is large. We got the BELT and the Bulgogi. First off... my fiancés response to the first bite of the bulgogi..."wow, now THATS a first bite." Pretty much sums up every bite after. Both sandwiches are combinations of flavor, fullness and richness. They encompass the experience of a breakfast sandwich and a bit more elevation in the quality. The people at the cafe were very kind and from the moment we ordered to the moment our sandwiches were ready was about 7-10 mins. Not a long wait and well worth it. From the quality, you can tell it's made right there and certainly one sandwich is enough but you may want two to be glutinous - we shared two because we had other things to do but highly considered a 3rd. WILL BE BACK!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Semicolon is a large, modern, and stylish cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe definitely makes you feel welcome to sit and stay awhile.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The baristas were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The drinks were excellent and the bulgogi sandwich is a great reason for me to visit again. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I liked the mural in the back and how tabletop games were available to customers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Semicolon is a good space for people who want to hang out in New Brunswick.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Bulgogi breakfast sandwich. Delicious!
    Scott B.

Got take out here recently partly because parking nearby is hard to find. Wifey and I both got the Bulgogi sandwich which was delicious and could probably do without the sauce that comes on it because the brioche bread is beautifully buttered and toasted. I also had the pistachio bomb as a drink and would definitely get it again. We went to a local park to enjoy our food.

    Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Semicolon Cafe is a great spot for light bites and coffee. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My girls and I are always greeted warmly and the whole place is clean and tidy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We usually order a latte (seasonal special) and one of the smoothies. A sweet treat to cap it off such as the brownie or macaroons. Lots of flavors to choose from but I always enjoy pistachio. We always stop in if we are in the George St area.

    Pistachio bomb
    Carmellina B.

This is the second location I've been too of Semicolon's and both times have been amazing experiences! The ambiance at the New Brunswick location is truly incredible - so spacious and decorated so nicely! The staff was super sweet and welcoming as well. I tried their Pistachio Bomb (double espresso, milk, and pistachio) and it was SOO yummy! One is the best coffees I've had in awhile! I also got the banana pudding and the flavor was great. I highly recommend checking this cafe out, you won't be disappointed!

The place was packed with college kids and friends there to socialize. We got the salted caramel latte which was very sweet. I would have gotten a less sweet drink based on the decadent desserts we had - the brownie cheesecake was just overflowing with caramel on top and the tiramisu had an interesting look with the cocoa powder surrounding the outside hiding all the delicious layers inside. Both desserts were $9-10 and were on the higher end price wise, but they were both delicious. There are a lot of options in drinks and baked items, but the tables may be sparse if you're looking to stay in. The later evening hours are big plus if you're looking for somewhere to meet friends in a casual, relaxed environment.

I remember they had a small room off to the right and there was really no one in that room, and then I realized it was an acai bar where you can get an acai bowl. In warmer weather, they have an acai bar, which is such a cool option to have inside a cafe. It is closed during cold months. My friends got desserts and coffee, and I got an acai bowl and some plain tea with almond milk. The acai bowl was not huge, but it was definitely very good and very filling. I loved the granola. I got acai, granola, fruit, and nut butter, and I really liked it a lot. I was full and happy because being vegan and gluten-free, there are not a lot of options for me later in the evening. While we were sitting and eating, we noticed there was a small prayer room in the back. We were curious, so we went in and took a look, and I thought it was really nice that they have that space as part of the cafe. It looked like there was a holy book, I believe the Quran, and there was a small, quiet area where someone can sit and pray. I thought that was such a unique and lovely touch to honor someone's religious convictions. Overall, I loved this place, and I plan to go back the next time I'm in New Brunswick.
