The service was fantastic - by chance I met the owner, Xiru, when I was passing by and I had no idea there was a Brazilian restaurant. They had a cheesy bread that somewhat resembles a Colombian pandebono but more cheesy and gooey delicious and the had Brazilian empanadas which are a lot bigger than the Colombian or Argentina ones - but still delicious and a Brazilian condiments . Gotta try it Then I had the picanha meet which has a delicious taste with a side of fat. But it's just so juicy and delicious- served with rice, some type of crushed yucca (cassava), beans -/ and I had the home made pineapple with mint-- huge portions and I at exit all.. soo dang stuffed- could have taken have for two days. This place was such a great find! My friend and I wanted to find a place where we can sit in and have coffee, and we ended up staying for dinner and dessert! The place is western themed and the inside looks new and very clean. It kinda hidden from all the traffic down the street. We first started off with two cappuccinos, which we delicious and very big. By the time we finished them, we got hungry and we ordered a chicken burger and empanadas. The bread on the burger was super dry and we ended up only eating the inside, which makes the burger a 6/10 for me. The Empanadas were really good but not filled enough. I felt like 70% of it was bread. The reason why I'm giving it such a high rating is because the staff was outstanding! The waiter who was helping us helped us out with everything little thing we wanted, she was so sweet! Plus i'm a big coffee person and the coffee was great! We wanted to find something local that we never tried before and found this hidden gem! The food was delicious and very, very filling. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Our server gave us several recommendations and I'm so glad that we took his suggestions. The burgers (X-Chicken & X-Steak) were huge and worth the price. The salgados were so good that we ordered some to go, too :) ( definitely get the chicken plus cheese ones). The recommended acai&strawberry smoothie worked great as a desert drink and finishing touches of a 10/10 meal! We're looking forward to coming back to try their pizzas in the future! read more

I've been wanting to come here forever, as Brazilian pizza isn't very common to come by. They told us it would take 45 minutes--25 minutes to heat up the oven and 20 to cook. I guess they don't keep their oven on, or only on Friday nights. Regardless, we waited. I ordered an almond milk latte, with latte art (which they charge extra for). But the girl didn't know how to make a latte so I got a macchiato it seemed as there was so much foam. But at least they didn't charge me for the absent latte art. It definitely took awhile to get the pizza, and honestly I was a little disappointed. They used a lot of cheese and the chicken pizza was good, almost like a pot pie. But the half with the egg and olives had dried and not fresh herbs on top (typical) but the worst was the crust. It tasted completely like frozen crust--the kind that breaks when you fold it instead of bending or staying straight. The place has potential but for me it missed the mark. read more

In the sleepy town of South River, there are tons of hidden gems, and HeBrews Coffee is among them! First and foremost, their coffee and various coffee creations are delicious, and the cafe has an incredible homey feel to it, in both its decorative interior and even their coffee mugs. You'll find a large painting of Christ the Redeemer of Rio in the dining room, and various Baiana art pieces as well. The menu is incredibly expansive, starting with typical cafe fare such as omelettes and breakfast sandwiches, but also includes Brazilian luncheonette options as well! This includes salads, wraps, panquecas (stuffed savory crepes), and burgers. They even have Brazilian pizza, which is made with a huge creativity of toppings such as catupiry cheese, heart of palm, corn, olives, etc. Their house pizza, for example is topped with mashed potatoes and ground beef! On weekends, they occasionally offer a Rodizio de Pizza (All you can eat pizza, with over 10 pies to choose from, including delicious dessert pies!) They have a long list of salgadinhos (little salty savory snacks) on the wall, which they make fresh. This was my first time here and I was disappointed at the tea selection. I know it's mostly coffee and wish they had an equal balance of both. Other than that they have great breakfast. I decided to take my best friend along with me to try out this place since I LOVE finding new coffee places. Upon entering the inside is very clean and the staff is welcoming. We sat at the bar and took a peak at the menu. They served breakfast from the time that we were there since it was early in the day. Food was very good and the pancakes (which I recommend) were SUPER fluffy...almost like a cake. It took them a while to make the pancakes but I know the process that they do to make them so fluffy so I didn't mind at all! Then of course I had to get a latte and they put it in a super cute dog mug which I totally fell in love with. I wanted to take it home! The prices were great too. Can't wait to come back! read more

This was my first time here. This place was cute. There were mostly long tables for four or more and maybe one or two 2-person tables. They have two shelves lined with cups of various designs. They also have Wi-fi. Note that the password has commas in it but just ignore them, so "1,2,3" worked as "123". There's street meter parking for $0.25 an hour and a couple of parking lots for nearby restaurants and the municipal center. I ordered a simple omelette and a latte. I didn't see any coffee menu so I just randomly chose a latte, which apparently comes in small and large. The small latte was good, but there wasn't any froth art. The simple omelette was also good. It was half the size of this huge plate and had a ton of cheese. I thought the portion was probably enough for two people. Definitely lots of sodium so be prepared for that. The cost came out to about $6.50. I went on a rainy Saturday morning and there were maybe only four other people with nearly 80% of the seating available. There were quite a few people who ordered coffee to-go. It was nice and quiet, besides the news station playing on the TVs. I don't remember exactly what was in it but I had the number 8 and it was amazing. They make all juice fresh to order. They also have desserts, breakfast, and coffee from what unnoticed. First time here, I definitely enjoyed the aesthetic of the shop. Very cute and in theme. I didn't see a coffee menu on the board and when I asked about drink options the barista only said coffee, latte, and cappuccino. I had to ask if they had any flavors to which she responded vanilla and caramel. Having seen all the creative drinks listed on their Instagram page, I was disappointed that there firstly wasn't a drink menu on the wall and secondly that the barista didn't offer any suggestions. Although, the small caramel latte I ordered was still delicious. Not the best latte of my life, but excellent for $2. I also ordered pancakes with strawberries/bananas which took a while to come out considering I was the only customer in the whole store, but it was a very generous portion size and tasty too for $5. read more

Went here for dessert and specialty coffees for first time. Regular coffee you get yourself is great. Service is OK. Just seem very confused when taking stuff to go. Shouldn't have to lid my own stuff. Got 2 cappuccinos, 2 afagatos and choc muffin and choc eclair. Never had afagato so can't accurately review it but seemed watery. It was 3rd time here today. It's still good to me. Update 4/26/17: for some reason when they are out of coffee they don't see to care enough about customers to make anymore. This is the 2nd time this happened. I was looking for a coffee shop near my house and found this one. Their hand crafted coffee is amazing with very reasonable price. Their pastries are freshly baked. Natas are only available on weekends. I was surprised that they serve breakfast, lunch pizza and even have freshly squeezed juices. Very good service and the place is cozy. read more
