My mom and I wanted to grab something light while visiting New Brunswick. We decided to check out Smashville since it was nearby and had good reviews. We both got the single tender and Cajun fries. It was a little spicy but really good! We ate upstairs and it was clean and not too many people. I felt like this was a good choice.
I have gone to Smashville a few times and have always been pleased. Firstly service is always amazing and quick. I got my burger within minutes of ordering. So if you are in need of a quick bite especially before the train, this is the place to go. The quality of Smashville is amazing too. All the good is extremely tasty and made with good quality! This has to be the best smash burger I have gotten in the New Jersey area. They have an upstairs seating area which is quite reserved and a nice addition. They also ways seem to have a decent crowd and overall an aesthetic place to eat. Please try them out if you are in the area!!
Came here on a rainy Wednesday night. The place was pretty packed but we managed to get a table upstairs. We got a single smash with no onions, a medium spiced chicken sandwich and cajan fries. The food came out fairly quick. The burger was just ok, the chicken sandwich was also ok. The chicken was spicy and high quality. The cajan fries tasted old and had wayyy too much seasoning on them. All in all, I prefer Bunz and Shakes around the corner.
Great spot for a chicken sandwich. Get the chicken Sammy with everything on it. The spicier it is, the more flavor it packs. The bun is a brioche bun I believe and it was amazing with the chicken. The fries were mediocre so I would skip those. We had the burger too but a little too greasy for me. I would definitely come back here again for the chicken Sammy
Very nice food with good burger buns, pickles, and sauce. The pattys were juicy and well cooked with good flavor. Service was quick with nice customers. Place is cool with good amount of seating upstairs.
I love getting 7th street when in NYC and always crave it when I'm home in NJ so I was thrilled to see Smashville, though skeptical about whether or not it could match 7th street. Recently ordered it for delivery and was pleasantly surprised. Got a double smash burger with dirty fries. My family tried an array of other items including some mild tenders, a medium chicken sandwich, and an impossible burger. The fries were delish and their spicy smash sauce is no joke. Definitely has quite a kick to it, but the flavor is awesome. All the chicken was crisp on the outside but incredibly juicy on the inside. The smashed burger pattys just the size, thin enough that they were crispy on the edges but not too thin. Everything was truly delicious. Can't wait to get Smashville again!
I came to smashville on a Friday for lunch. When I went in the restaurant was relatively empty, although they were taking phone orders. My order number was four so I'm assuming I was the fourth order that day and I was told it would be a 10 to 15 minute wait. Talking with the woman behind the counter she was very nice and I was unsure what to get. They don't have any sort of combinations which is kind of annoying but I've been to other places like this and they have similar menu setups. The chicken tenders were $4.50 per chicken tender which I thought were expensive. But the woman said that the chicken tenders are very large and that usually people eat one or two. I debated getting it but the sandwich called out to me more and decided to go with the sandwich. I also got a side of their fries and I really like them. There is no seating downstairs, however the upstairs has a fairly roomy seating area. When I went there there was no one there. So if you had to sit down you likely would have had the place to yourself. All in all I really like the chicken. It was pretty good. As a last minute tip, as someone who likes to eat spicy food, I went with a mild and was happy. I asked the woman behind the counter and she said all of their spice levels include Carolina reaper pepper. It's just different amounts and the different levels. Also, when I ordered standing close to the counter, I guess I was close enough to the kitchen where it was mildly uncomfortable because of the spice in the air. Maybe I'm more sensitive to that although I do like spicy food but just something to think about when ordering.
Met a couple buddies here for dinner and to catch up and the food was excellent. We each ordered the triple smash, with 1 mild tender and shared an order of smash fries. The smash fries were the favorite. The smash sauce is really really tasty. The burgers were very good as well. The chicken tenders were good, but nothing out of the ordinary compared to the other items and $4.50 each. Our only issue is that they really need to upgrade their exhaust and ventilation system. The kitchen is downstairs and seating upstairs so the smoke was coming into the upstairs pretty regularly and it wasn't too busy. We hung out for longer than most customers probably do, but our clothes smelled when we got out of there so they def need to fix that. Def will come back again, maybe just grab takeout though.

Its a bout a 5 min walk from the Hyatt Regency were we were staying for a convention and as it was our first time in the area we wanted to try out all the local spots. Smashville's menu is simple, straight foreword and that's the charm of it! You can order a smashburger with 1, 2 or 3 patties (comes with onions and smash sauce almost like a mayochup sauce), Nashville style chicken sandwich, tenders, with varying degrees of hotness from mild to really hot, and fries seasoned and/or with their sauces. They also offered bottled drinks to go. A friendly cashier took our order and we had our food in 15 min or less. There's not a huge waiting area and it did fill up a bit with people waiting but the cooks filled the orders in a timely manner so it wasn't crowded for long. They do a ton of take out orders but have a larger sit down area upstairs if you want to dine in. Being our first time we just got burgers 2 patties each and split a pain order of fries. I'm not a huge fan of smash burgers but this place got it right! Super juicy, messy sauce and chopped onions and a ton of flavor! Even the plain fries were seasoned and fried perfectly! Already planning another trip back if we're in the area again. Just a word of warning, a friend in another group got the extra hot smash fries with jalapenos cause he's used to spicy food. When the cook questions if you really want that, you know they mean HOT. He said it was amazing but regretted the heat later that night. I'd stick to the more milder spice levels cause they don't mess around with their hot sauces.
The place was nice, I liked that there's seating upstairs. The staff was friendly and my food came out quickly. The burger and fries were really delicious, I loved the sauce on the burger! But I just wished it was a little bigger since it was $6.50
Hubby and I ate here today and are super satisfied. Everything was fresh and made to order. The cashier was patient as we reviewed the menu which is hanging above. Loved the decor, very cute. We will definitely be eating here again in the future many times. The smashburger was just how should be-juicy but crispy on the edge. The chicken Sammy was 10/10 for me, I got the mild plus because I enjoy spicy food and it was delicious. Bun to chicken ratio was on point! My Cajun fries had a ton of seasoning which I like. I'd recommend giving it a try.

The chicken was fried to perfection and the ratio of coleslaw to hot sauce to chicken was on point. The brioche bun was fresh and paired perfectly. I went during the lunchtime rush, and we did have to wait a good 5-7 minutes before someone took our order (it's counter service). There is not much room in the ordering area, but the upstairs fits about 25 people comfortably. Once we were served, the staff was kind and the order came out quick. The restaurant is on George St. so parking can be challenging. But if you're walking the city or work downtown and looking for a meal, Smasville is worth checking out.
Another smashing visit at Smashville. We ordered smash fries, chicken Sammy mild sandwich and chicken Sammy hot version. Sammy sandwich. 5/5. The sandwich Ja absolutely delicious. Chunky breast of chicken seasoned to perfection and fried. Served on potato buns with coke slaw and the awesome sauce. Smash fries. It's a meal in it self. Generous portion of French fries topped with cut up chunks of chicken breast and served with coke slaw, pickles and that awesome sauce. Will be back soon.

The burger at Smashville was good, the patty was not seasoned and the burger as a whole was pretty greasy. Not really their fault, just the style of burger. I just wish there was something fresh or crunchy to balance out all the soft textures from the bread, beef patty, and cheese. I also added beef bacon to my burger, even though it's not listed as an add on the menu. I really wish more of these newer smashburger restaurants had lettuce and/or tomatoes as an add on topping. That would help cut through the grease and make the burger feel a little lighter. The restaurant is very clean and bright, I liked the atmosphere while I was in there and the staff were nice! read more
Small venue in the heart of New Brunswick. Metered parking where you can find it, virtually no nearby on (the same) street parking. Quick and easy ordering process, staff don't waste any time getting your order & getting to work on it. Oddly enough there is an ordering kiosk at the counter right next to where you would order with staff. I guess that is for if you're feeling anti-social. Sitting area upstairs, so it is not wheelchair or elderly friendly for the sitting area. No outdoor seating. A very hustle & bustle kinda deal. We had the double patty smash. Overall was it "WTT?" Worth The Trip....YES! Absolutely!! The burger was amazing. It tasted like the smashburger in my mind. Perfection! Smashville keeps it simple. Burgers, Chicken of varying spice level, and Fries. It's located in the former La Bagel/Gyro Xpress next to T-Mobile. Interior is not huge with a small ordering area, but there is a decent amount of seating upstairs that's not handicap accessible. There are no combo's as you order by the item. They also serve canned Coke products and offer Mexican Coke. Our group ordered a few different things, I ordered a Double Patty Smashburger and Fries. Smashburgers can be hit or miss, but they have a good one here that's tasty. The Fries are a seasoned fry that's delicious, with my only complaint being mine were lukewarm. I strongly recommend the Comeback Sauce, it's got a nice flavor with a touch of kick, but isn't overpowering. Table had several orders of Chicken Tenders, which are huge and almost the size of a Chicken Breast at other places. One person had medium spice and said it had a nice spicy kick. Overall, I'd return to eat here again and Smashville might be one of the best kept secrets on this side of New Brunswick. read more

Smashville Hot Chicken & Burgers is a relatively new spot in New Brunswick and I was really excited to try some of the items on their menu!! I had their smash fries which consisted of fries loaded with their smashed burgers, specialty sauce, and jalapeños. I was very impressed with this concoction and enjoyed it very much. I also tried their chicken sandwich and was not as impressed but I will say I didn't get to try their burgers which I hope will higher my rating when I go back!! read more

Finally checked out Smashville today! It did not disappoint. I shared one double cheeseburger and one mild but (with a serious kick) chicken sandwich and one chicken topped Smash Fries with my foodie friend and it was beyond enough. The burger was seriously top tier and delicious in every way imaginable. Super tasty beef patty, hot buttery bun and caramelized onions that literally melted in my mouth. The Smash Fries were amazingly crispy and bursting with flavor. The staff was super friendly and helpful in making my selections. The one reason for my 4 star review is because there's no outdoor seating (unlike the many surrounding restaurants) which would've been superb. read more

Nice and clean place. Amazinggg staff. Everyone is super sweeet. The chicken sandwich was pretty good and so were the fries. However they charge you extra for sauce. The single patty is tooo thin. It was thin as paper. Barely any taste. And their is not much selection to the menu. Though they did say theyd be adding milkshakes soon. Dont hate it dont love it. read more

For the options around here, I think this was a great spot! I thought it was better than shake shack in my opinion. The service was really good and food came out pretty quick as well. Plenty of seating upstairs. A good place to try out! read more

This is a solid burger spot. I've been twice and I've ordered the following: - Single Patty - Fries I think for a single smash burger $6 is pricey and $4 for plain fries, no drink or combo offerings. The location is really convenient on the busy George Street. This a a great spot if you're trying to grab something quick and on the go. read more
Ooooh wow have I missed a classic, greasy burger. There's just something about the smash burger that really hits the spot. It's just a slightly elevated version of the McDouble but for people who are sticking to halal meat now like me, it's a blast from the past I probably could have eaten 2 more of the things! The sweet onions, sauciness, and fluffy bread make this the stuff of dream. Chicken sliders are spicy, saucy, and greasy. Get ready for the heart burn Hot Fries! Mmm mmm the fries were seasoned so well, the chicken was a great complement and thank god for all the sauce and cole slaw to cut the grease. The service was relatively fast given how busy it was, and I'm happy to say they didn't cut down on quality despite the heavy demand. The art work on the walls was amazing. We loved the random ocean videos playing on the big screen. Smashville may not have 30 Burgers on the menu, but it makes up for it and more with a smashing amount of sauce and spice! read more
The chicken Sammy was soooo good!!!! They offer a variety of spice levels, I got the hot level (they have Xtra hot on top of that). The chicken was infused with the seasoning and spices. It was very flavorful. Their house suace was drizzled on top which heightened the flavor even more. I cannot point any faults with this sandwich whatsoever. A must try. I did. I did not try the impossible single patty (that person did not want to share ) but was told they was really yummy. Highly recommend!!! read more

We drove almost 2 1/2 hours to come here. As per my daughter, it was worth the drive. Fries are to die for ... topped with yummy sauce & chicken ... amazing flavor & the size of the order was a meal by itself. Enjoyed the Impossible Burger, a bit smaller in size compared to the Chicken Sammy. Both the burger & sandwich were flavorful. We enjoyed our lunch. They have a small clean dining area upstairs & restroom too. Parking is tricky. You can get lucky with metered parking depending on time & day. If this was close to where we lived, sure would visit again. But 2 hours plus one way & paying tolls totaling to almost $26 ... is a bit to much. LOL. But would recommend to go check this place out. read more
Came in on a Friday night with some friends. I had heard a lot about this place from a lot of kids who go to Rutgers in the area. I will say that parking was quite difficult on this day; and that's coming from someone who goes out regularly in Philly on weekends. All of George Street was closed off, so I had to circle the block many times to find street parking. Nevertheless, this is part of the experience. When we walked in, I was surprised to see that the downstairs was a bit small. There were two groups of people in front of us in line, and that had us practically waiting out the door. The space is just a bit small. The second story of this restaurant does have tables for seating. We were helped after waiting about 5 minutes, which I was very happy about. The menu is simple, consisting either of halal smashburgers, halal hot chicken sandwiches, or halal hot tenders. Both the burger and chicken options have some form of loaded fry option. Hot chicken comes in various spice levels. The employee behind the counter was helpful in answering my questions about the menu. When I was told the "Hot Fries" contained one tender, I asked to order 2 extra on the side. He told me it would be a lot of food, but I proceeded anyway. I was thinking that these tenders would be the size of a Popeyes tender. My friends and I waited upstairs while our food was being prepared. It took about 10-15 minutes until our order numbers were called out. Boy, was I overshooting with the tenders. My Hot Fries and extra 2 tenders were a LOT of food. In my defense, I would call these filets, not tenders. Regardless, I was excited to dig in. As soon as I dug into my Hot Fries, I was impressed. Everything from the spice to the crispness of the actual fry was perfect. The chicken and sauce on top of the fries did not cause them to be soggy. I had opted for the "Hot" spice level, which is the second spiciest they sell. As someone who has high spice tolerance, this had some heat. The creamy sauce on top was a very nice accompaniment to cut some of the spice. The chicken itself was delicious. The meat was very high quality, and the breading was perfectly crispy and did not fall off. The upstairs eating area is a bit difficult to move around in when it gets crowded, but it does the job for fast casual. Overall, I really enjoyed this food. For about 22 dollars, I got a very filling order of loaded Hot Fries, 2 additional pieces of massive hot chicken, and a soda. I consider this very fair for what I got in terms of quality and portion. Service and ambiance aren't necessarily a winning point for this place, but that's to be expected from a fast casual chicken spot. For the halal options in the tri-state area, I really don't have anything bad to say about this food. read more
