Duck roll
Zoe C.

A little cozy restaurant close to H-mart. We went on a Sunday during lunch and it wasn't too busy, not too slow either. We came specifically for the River Snail soup noodles (螺蛳粉) and it did not disappoint! It was delicious, and it was just right. Not too spicy, not too greasy, not too sour, just perfect. We also ordered a few other dishes like the duck roll, spicy chicken feet, octopus rings, and a 老友粉. All delicious. I was worried that it would all be super greasy, but it all felt pretty light (or maybe I didn't eat a crazy amount ). Service was quick, and the waiter was nice.

Doesn't look like much when you pass this joint, but don't count it out! For noodle lovers, takers of spice and those whom really want that authentic Chinese taste to kick your salivary glands, this spot is one to try. Noodle time main dishes focuses on the Chinese rice noodle (quite literally the translation). It takes on the impression of broth from different regions of China and brings it home to us here in Edison. The broth is what makes the noodle done here special and it pairs well with assorted meats that can be warmed up in the soup. We got the two noodle main dishes of 1) lao you fen and 2) liu you fen, both we recommend. There isn't a lot of protein so for those who would like more, definitely go for the beef or pig ear to eat with it! You just can't go wrong with that combination! Both broths hit differently and are thick with a seasoned taste. Think of it as a ramen, except the impression is inspired by mixtures of Chinese umami flavours instead!

I have been coming to this noodle shop for years and now I will finally write my review. Cleanliness: The restaurant is very clean and they have a hand sanitizer for customers to use. Staff: The waitress is friendly and helpful with the menu. Cucumber Cold Dish w/ Garlic: This is very delicious and was better than we thought. Marinated pig ears: This was actually better than I had expected as well. Shredded pork with Szechuan pickles and noodles: This is by far my favorite noodle soup dish. The pickles have a great taste and the noodles are cooked to perfection. House spicy beef w/ cold noodle: My friend said the noodles are delicious and the flavoring is perfect. The beef was on point with the taste as well. Overall: This is one of the best noodle shops in town and I will always come here when I want noodles. I brought some of my friends here and they love their noodles as well.

The service is very fast.. good for a quick bite.. flavor wise.. hit or missed.. the scallion pancakes is not my expected flavor..

You get more than what you pay for here. These five dishes combined costed $53 including tip and taxes. In terms of taste, I really really enjoyed the spicy rice noodles and the fried shrimp. Rest were just okay. Beef and tripe mostly just had tripe. The shredded pork noodles was a little salty and the flavor profile was bland compared to the spicy rice noodles. Bean curd was good, but not memorable. However, I would definitely still recommend this place and would come back again. I'm sure there are more hidden gems, and the proportions were more than enough to satisfy two people.

Recently recommended by my friend, I came to this restaurant couple of times already. The place is neat and the food is really great! Love it!

They served spoiled pork once. I could smell the sourness and tell it's not from vinegar. They replaced it with marinated beef to make it up. No apologies, it's okay, I don't expect it from that waitress anyways which I'll address later. The beef was no where near fresh and super salty. Noodle was great. Been there twice, ordered two different kinds of rice noodles, both better than expectations. The waitress is definitely the worst part of this restaurant. Passed over the bill every single time while we're still halfway working on our food. Are your kicking us out? She talked to people in an aggressive tone and the face... the one-star review below has vividly described it well so I won't say anymore. I'd give 4 stars if she improves. Saving on the electricity bill is not worth it. It's 85 degrees out there, your AC is not cool enough when you serve hot and spicy food. Thinking of the dining environment, i won't crave for your food under weather like this. And the spoiled marinated meat probably results from the bill saving actions too.

Six steamed dumplings are placed in a round bamboo steamer lined with parchment paper. A small square dish of soy sauce with chopped ginger is positioned in the middle of the dumplings. The bamboo steamer is on a white surface, and part of a person's arm and clothing are visible in the background.

This is our first time coming here to eat inside the restaurant . The noodle tasted so good that my 7 year old almost go for a second round Especially the beef noodles soup .

Monica M.

The bamboo was very fresh, not much 'luosi' flavor - I meant the signature 'smelly luosi'. It's a bit salty to me. Good to try it out for a 'luosi' noodel fan!

I personally didn't like the noodle soup that I ordered. Atmosphere was horrible and did not feel clean. Service was ok.

If you're in NJ and craving Hong Kong-style wonton noodle soup, head to Wonton Guy in Edison. It's a no-frills local gem tucked away in a tiny strip mall off Route 27, with a few parking spots out front and more in the back. The space is small (only 10 tables!) and nothing fancy, but the value is hard to beat. It's always busy, and after you take your first slurp of the soup, you'll get why. Service is fast, so the tables turn over quickly. I was able to grab a seat when I walked in on a Saturday evening. The menu is simple and offers 3 main options: 1.) noodle soup with toppings 2.) soup with toppings (no noodles) 3.) lo mein with toppings served with soup on the side From there, you pick your noodle type (egg, flat rice, vermicelli), as well as up to 3 toppings (wontons, dumplings, beef brisket, etc.). There are also a few side dishes like shredded pork in chili tomato sauce, deep fried fish skin, and curry fish balls. They even sell some items raw like wontons, noodles, dumplings, and sliced beef. And the best part is... the prices are very affordable! Most of the dishes are around $11-$16. My order: *Two Toppings (wonton + beef brisket) Noodle Soup [$12.75] - Where do I begin? Every single part of this meal SLAPPED. The wontons were MUMBO JUMBO and generously filled with fresh, plump shrimp that were sweet and juicy. The noodles were soft and springy. The beef brisket was SO tender with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. And the broth? Super rich, aromatic, and savory. It's made of shrimp skin, pork bone, dried flounder fish, dried shrimp, and dried monk fruit, but it doesn't taste fishy at all. Each table is stocked with condiments like vinegar, homemade chili oil, and soy sauce to customize your soup. The chili oil packs some SERIOUS HEAT, so watch out. This was hands down one of the best noodle soups I've had. I was sad when I finished it :-( *Hong Kong-style Milk Tea [$6] - I really enjoyed this! The black tea was bold and strong--almost too strong for me, but the milk balanced it out nicely. I only wish it had boba! Everything tasted authentic. Quick backstory: The owner comes from a family with GENERATIONS of experience making wontons and running noodle shops in Hong Kong. He grew up there and brought those family traditions to his own restaurants in Toronto... and now Edison. All those years of experience clearly show in his food. The broth is simmered overnight, and the wontons are freshly prepared every morning. No shortcuts here--just decades of tradition, skill, and a whole lot of love in every bowl. Ugh, I wish I lived closer because I'd be a regular. It's hard these days to find a place that REALLLLLLY delivers a memorable meal that's both tasty, reasonably priced, and served in generous portions. If you're within driving distance and debating whether it's worth the trip--DON'T! Wonton Guy is absolutely worth a visit, even if it's just once. I drove an hour to try it, and I still think about those wontons all the time... no joke LOL.

The food comes out lightning fast. Everything is very reasonably priced. Best of all, it's all delicious. I tried stuff outside of my comfort zone and I loved it all. We were second standing outdoors waiting in this big fat long line. Immediately upon opening for the day the line nearly forced entry near stampede and this cafe was immediately packed to full occupancy of patrons with free seating. The Yelp reviews are accurate and truthful. The food is great. This is a small cafe with only approximately eight tables. I do not recommend large parties of five and greater. It is no-frills, but not exactly "hole in the wall" type that lack in aesthetics for upscale lavish atmosphere but the deficiency is resolved in the food quality. There is one sole functioning restroom in the whole business, ergo, stand in line and wait. We entered hungry in a lugubrious sense of deep sorrow, but exited hunger pangs fulfilled. When exiting upon completion of our lunch meal, there was a line that quickly formed outdoors waiting. Unfortunately, access to this cafe in Edison, NJ is by car only and there is a free parking lot that is shared with neighboring businesses located in a small shopping complex. There are no business cards, and no takeout menus available. Customer service is efficient as the staff worked methodically hustling busy to take orders and fulfillment. Our male waiter was attentive to respond to our inquiries and make suggestions based on our desires. I was able to keep the sales receipt. Price is in the rationale realm of stagflation totaling $41.75. Nota Bene: No table hibernation as the table turnover is fast pace with a line overflowing outdoors which cannot interrupt the flow. My foodie synopsis: Pork steam soup dumplings, 6 pcs, siu2 lung4 baau1, 小籠包, $8.75 Very juicy, flavorful and great. It was served piping hot. This is my favorite default dish for every visit at any Shanghainese ethnic cuisine. However, there were no serving tongs provided for this particular appetizer which is industry standard. Preserved cabbage with pork noodle soup, syut3 coi3 juk6 si1 min6, 雪菜肉絲麵 $9.50 This is a satisfying Chinese comfort food. This noodle soup was abundant with noodles, pork and chopped vegetables. It provided warmth to my very broken heart. Shanghai chicken in wine sauce, zeoi3 gai1, 醉雞, $8.95 A traditional Chinese cold appetizer, aka Chinese Drunken chicken made with Chinese Shaoxing cooking wine. It has amazing flavor and texture to be deliciously enticing. Of course, the cooking wine brings flavor to this appetizer making you want more. Shanghai pan fried U-Don noodle, soeng6 hoi2 cou1 caau2 min6, 上海粗炒面, $11.95 Abundant noodles with good consistency and it not heavily filled with grease and oil.
