It's gone downhill. Service was terrible. The fish hotpot was stinky. Fish was so stinky. We got a fish hotpot with chilis, and it was so spicy to hide how unfresh the fish was. We asked our server, but she gaslit us and said the fish was always the same. We ordered the shrimp with the vermicelli noodles and that was good. I could eat it. Last time they served us shrimp with the head. The stir fry cabbage was served nearly raw and we had to send it back so they can cook it longer. 3 months ago, it was very good and packed with people. Yummy!! Ordered takeout for lunch. Was shopping at 99 and wanted something easy but delicious. The service was quick! Ready in 15 minutes or so, as soon as I was done with check out at 99. Ordered the Dan Dan noodles - super flavorful and a great kick of spice. Got this like spicy sliced chicken appetizer - so much chicken and lots of flavor. There was hardly any pork and it was very spicy. Hubs said that he didn't miss the meat but he thought it was pretty good. Hubs ordered the fried tofu with pork slices from the Lunch Special section . This was the same price as the House Specialties category. This was no lunch special but it came with a mysterious soup and it tasted medicinal. Hubs thought it was good but not extraordinary. He said that we can get it similar and better value, elsewhere. This place is very pricey. I got sticker shocked. Service was ok and quick. Came here the other day for lunch, while the service is superb, the food has a mix of salty and peppery not to my likings. I would say that it's a bit on the heavy side. The staff is a mixture of Cantonese and Mandarin speakers but can definitely speak English if that's your preferred route. The restaurant has spacious seating, and it isn't overly loud. Really good! We got the beef and tripe app, 2 orders of mapo tofu, and the Sichuan boiled fish. The fish is blackfish btw, they didn't specify on their menu. The one complaint we have is that the Sichuan boiled fish was quite oily... it goes all over the place during transfer and has a lot of it sitting on top of the bowl. This is one of absolute favorite restaurants in Edison for authentic Sichuan food. It definitely can get spicy, so consider yourself warned, but the flavor profile is more accurate than any restaurant my family has eaten at in the US. The menu is also relatively small compared to other Chinese restaurants, but we've enjoyed everything we've ordered here! Right after you order, they bring you a complimentary cold potato appetizer that's a little spicy, and little vinegary, but overall just refreshing. We always order the Stir fry yellow cow throat, which is really stir fried aorta. I highly recommend getting it if you're feeling adventurous because each bite is so crisp (kind of like beef tendon?), and it's seasoned perfectly. Nothing really stood out about it. The cumin lamb was a little dry and on the chewier side. So All Blue moved to a new location on Route-1 several months back which has been a plus. Parking is so much easier and there are very easy walkable options to purchase alcohol for BYO, get bubble tea afterwards, and do some shopping at the big 99 Ranch supermarket. It's undoubtedly much better than the original location. Have been back twice since they shifted to the new space... initially it felt like the kitchen needed to get its bearings a little as it seemed slightly off compared to the first location, but after a couple of months on the next visit, glad to see thing have returned to the original experience which is great! And the dining space is brighter, more comfortable and spacious. Service is still very solid and friendly. And always nice to see that it's again busy for dinner service! read more

While in Edison, we decided to get lunch at All Blue. It's a very interesting restaurant; while the interior is cold (literally) and the ambience quite plain, the food and service more than made up for that. We had the ribs and shrimp dry pot and the liver and kidney stir fry, and both were excellent. The overall taste profile is on the heavier side, as often the case with Sichuan cuisine, but they provide free rice to account for that. The waiters were attentive but not the "how's everything" every 15 minutes attentive which gets annoying. We never wanted something for more than a couple of minutes before someone got to us. This was my first time trying this Szechuan place and they definitely pack the flavors. We got a free appetizer of spicy potatoes and they had a great crunchy texture and spice. The clams and eggplant dish had incredible flavor and the black bean garlic sauce is delicious, but there were a lot of empty clam shells and it felt like there might have been more clam shells than clam meat, also some of them were pretty sandy. We also got the spicy chilli wontons which we did not like. The meat wasn't juicy and a little bland, and the chili oil didn't stand out either. The seafood combo pictures on yelp is what attracted me here. Who could resist the mouth watering pictures of seasoned crab and a medley of other seafood served in a large pot? I had been looking forward to this for weeks! The restaurant is spacious, staff is friendly and menu is impressive. In short, I really wanted to like this place. To start, we were given several complimentary side dishes - banchan style. This included the seaweed salad from the yelp check in, potato salad and a pickled turnip dish. The potato salad was good (like a cross between potato salad and mashed potatoes). The seaweed salad was better than I expected. We ordered the stewed beef from the lunch special. (For $11, you choose one of the lunch dishes listed. It comes with soda and a small side.) In addition, we ordered the small seafood combo with spicy garlic sauce to share ($30). This comes with octopus tentacles, blue crab, clam, mussels, shrimp, corn and potatoes. We swapped out the octopus and clam for more crabs. At long last, I get to dig in to the seafood and get down and dirty with the plastic gloves! Ive been waiting for this. Unfortunately, the crabs did not taste fresh. A few, but not all, were borderline mushy, a tell tale sign that the crabs are not fresh. A couple of them were smallish but most were reasonably sized. The shell on the shrimp was submerged in the sauce but the shrimp itself was dry and maybe a tad overcooked. The corn and potatoes soaked up the sauce and was tasty. Although I did not try it, My husband said the stewed beef was tender. My husband had a laundry list of issues here: seafood combo sauce too salty, crab not fresh, crab too small, too much work to eat, stewed beef too peppery. As usual, when a new place opens around here, news spreads fast from my fellow NJ Yelpers. Based on their pictures, I was excited to check it out. There is very limited parking in the front. The back parking offers very poor street lighting. After taking the last few sips of my milk tea, I threw it in one of the dumpsters. As I turned around and took a few steps forward, I tripped on a large cement bar and the Boba Queen goes down hard. The first thing I checked was where is my new iPhone 11? Whew, it's safe. But I banged up my left knee pretty bad. FYI...I have two middle names, impatient and clumsy. We decided to order the small seafood combo. When it came to the table, I thought they made a mistake, the portion was huge. If you decide to order the large, it's enough to feed the Brady Bunch. My fave were the crabs. Ask for some white rice if it's too spicy for you. I also loved the complimentary side dishes, especially the delicious, creamy potato salad. My kiddo and I had a speed eating contest to see who could eat most of it. Yelp check-in gives you one free seaweed salad. The amount is generous. Lots of expensive high end face creams are made with seaweed. What's better than applying it to your face, eating it! I'm not a fan of the slimy texture but seaweed contains collagen protein. I eat that shhhh up like it's the yummiest thing in the world. At the end of the meal, the waitress had us put down ours names for a Christmas drawing. It's important to note that when you check in on Yelp here, you get a free seaweed salad, which I will definitely get the next time I come here. The second time I came here I got the Dan Dan Noodles and Chili Oil Wontons. I thought I would die from getting two spicy dishes but I came out only with a runny nose from the wontons! The Dan Dan Noodles were actually less spicy than the wontons, but packed lots of flavor with garlicky goodness, making this dish my favorite one from this restaurant so far! The wontons were a good appetizer and are basically what you expect with all its spicy, oiliness. I wish there was chives or something else to go along with the big portion of pork inside the dumpling. There's enough wontons for it to be a shareable appetizer and I had to pack the rest for home since I also had the noodles. The Seafood Combo has always caught my eye, but I have yet to come back with a group of people to share it with. I'd also love to try the ramen since that is also a namesake.
