    Nice selections for lunch....
    Kimberly S.

Great neighborhood buffet. It's not quite as big as some of the chains but it's a great value and the food is fresh and tasty. The interior is a bit dated but it's nice and clean. We stopped by for lunch and it's only $6.99, can't beat that... They have all of the standard Chinese buffet offerings. They have a small sushi section that's nice and fresh but nothing's labeled. I tried a few selections and they were all tasty. Pretty much everything I tried was good. Great boneless ribs, roasted pork, sautéed green beans, corn on the cob... I tried some things from the dessert section and they were just ok. They also offered hand dipped ice cream. I definitely plan to return when I'm in the area...

Sundays are the best days to go! Yes its more money but please do because thats the days when the food is fresh and their is a bountiful of choices. I would not recommend going any other day unless you choose a popular time, so the food can be fresh! I love the dungeness crab here; very full and meaty. They have a variety and plethora choices on the buffet line pizza, lo mein, oysters, fruit, and even ice cream. Great, if you want a fast bite and the price is vert cheap. Definitley worth it!

What a good combination of Chinese, Asian and American buffet cuisine. Not pricey on weekdays lunch and dinner. Clean and friendly place. Parking is available. Quiet dining on weeknights, too. I like their steamed stone crabs available only for weeknight dinner ($8.99 per). Also, on weekends ($11.99 per). Separate bathrooms for Men and Women.

    Selections not too bad

Good choice on a rainy January night drive that ended up unexpectedly nearby. Food was decent but not as large as the usual buffet, which means fresher selection overall, price unbeatable so it was a surefire hit with me. I enjoyed the shrimp dishes especially the spicy one with onions and peppers, the green beans gently quick fried with almonds which I love were prepared very well, I really was surprised how much I liked the butter cabbage too. I seriously cheated on my carb ban at the dessert bar, I had only planned on a taste of the green tea ice cream and butter pecan, but it was so good I wanted to get more. Fresh sliced oranges and really delicious grapes were a nice ending. I'd recommend on a spur of the moment for dinner, I hear the lunch is a great value too. Great staff, food is really great for the value. The interior is dated but well kept.

Salad bar on left, some sushi on right.

Service could be better . The girl in the counter gets a little annoyed if we ask her some questions , especially to check if there is egg in a vegetarian dish etc. they take about 10-15 mins to cook and it is really good. Ordered General Tsos tofu and it was super delicious . They had good amount of tofu and 2 of us could eat one meal . Veg soup was also really good . Not much of veggie options though. Will surely go back and try other things . Not much place to sit and eat .. they do have some tables but it isn't too clean inside . I'd rather parcel it and have it at home . 4 stars for the food .. try it if you are in this area.

The décor is beautiful, modern, and instantly sets the tone for a great dining experience. The cocktails were outstanding and clearly crafted with intention. I tried one topped with a wasabi/ginger foam (wish I remembered the name!) and the Hazy Tea cocktail that comes in a kettle -- both were fantastic. My wife ordered the Lavender Martini and loved it so much she got it twice. Now the food... amazing. We ordered the paneer dumplings, and I genuinely could have ordered them three more times. They were THAT good. The steamed dumplings were solid too. I got the Lamb Roganjosh, which was flavorful and came in a generous portion. My wife ordered the Side Chicken -- which I happily helped her with -- and the Chicken Biryani, which she enjoyed (a little spicy, but delicious). For dessert, we tried the tres leches and the Indian Neapolitan ice cream. The ice cream, especially the pistachio flavor, was incredible -- rich, creamy, and so unique. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. The ambiance, the drinks, the food, the portions -- everything exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back! And the staff were so attentive and friendly

For the main course, we ordered chilli garlic noodles and Schezwan in sauce. The chilli garlic noodles were average, but the Schezwan was below average and had an odd essence-like smell. Service was fast and the staff was responsive, which we appreciated. Overall, the experience was mixed -- good ambiance and quick service, but the food quality didn't live up to expectations

Tofu and Fish hotpot: Fried white fish, fried tofu, string beans, bell peppers in a sauce that is probably reduced chicken stock. I'm biased since it's one of my favorite chinese dishes. I don't know when this specific dish is amazing, but I can tell you when it's bad. Green Lake's version is anything but bad. Shrimp Stuffed Tofu: We were given a sample since they were trying something new. The sauce is similar to the tofu hotpot but has a porkier feel because of the ground pork within the dish. The tofu is the same, but the way they fried it is different, so it took a step up. The shrimp was fine, and I think they should have this on their menu. Whole Fried Chicken: It's fine. Didn't love it. There's no batter to speak of at all, and you're reliant on the spicy sauce and ginger sauce provided. Stir Fried French Beans w/ Salted Fish: Crunchy French Beans, and very salty salted fish. Not my favorite, but it keeps things different. Hot prawn salad with broccoli: The broccoli was just boiled. Nothing to talk about. The pawn was fried and bathed in mayonnaise. What's not to like? Pork Chop: This is another Chinese restaurant staple. 85% of the chinese porkchops that you eat will taste the same. This one is no different. Hokkien Fried Rice: My chinese restaurant guilty pleasure. How else can you get a shrimp fried rice bathed in an umami sauce? The restaurant did a really good job with this and I'm glad that I asked if they had it (in chinese). Service: It was a slow night, so we had all the attention that our table needed. Ambiance: The location is big and can support small families to larger gatherings. They have a private area that fits 30+ people, so they look like the go-to spot for parties.

They roll the carts through the restaurant offering lots of dumplings, soups, noodle dishes and more. We loved everything except the Turnip Cake was way too salty. Someone dumped salt or too much soy sauce onto this dish. Also we were offered vegetarian dumplings that had some greens in it, but was mostly pork. Be sure to ask about the ingredients if you don't want pork or meat in a dish. We've been here before and all other dishes were great...Chinese broccoli sautéed, dumplings with shrimp, eggplant with shrimp, sautéed wide noodles with some veggies, soup dumplings, etc. finally tried the mango dessert. It was yummy.

They are in the process of merging restaurants so we received several menus but were told that not all items were there and that there are some repeats and that all the prices were going to be different. Next, within a minute of sitting down, the waitress very seriously yelled at a young child we had with us about using chopsticks. This kid knows how to use chopsticks and uses them at home. She was excited to see them and be able to use them at a restaurant. The waitress then belittled us for allowing that. She was an extremely nasty person and ruined the entire experience. We resisted the urge to walk out and now have regrets about it. She felt awkward about how we received her criticism, so she pet the child's head and called her a pretty girl. The place is decorated with Christmas presents and bells (it's May). I wish that was the most insulting thing. We were the only ones in the restaurant the entire time. (That should have been our first sign). If you didn't want people to eat there, just close the inside and do just take out. As soon as we were sat she asked what we wanted and wouldn't leave until we asked her to. She came back with drinks a minute later and wouldn't leave again so we ordered a couple appetizers just to buy more time in deciding our dinner. She continued to belittle us and made eating incredibly awkward. We received our entree before we were done eating the appetizer, so I guess she wanted us to leave as much as we wanted to leave. The sushi was surprisingly good. Which is why I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1. I just felt so uncomfortable eating here that I didn't enjoy much of it at all.

We were second standing outdoors waiting in this big fat long line. Immediately upon opening for the day the line nearly forced entry near stampede and this cafe was immediately packed to full occupancy of patrons with free seating. The Yelp reviews are accurate and truthful. The food is great. This is a small cafe with only approximately eight tables. I do not recommend large parties of five and greater. It is no-frills, but not exactly "hole in the wall" type that lack in aesthetics for upscale lavish atmosphere but the deficiency is resolved in the food quality. There is one sole functioning restroom in the whole business, ergo, stand in line and wait. We entered hungry in a lugubrious sense of deep sorrow, but exited hunger pangs fulfilled. When exiting upon completion of our lunch meal, there was a line that quickly formed outdoors waiting. Unfortunately, access to this cafe in Edison, NJ is by car only and there is a free parking lot that is shared with neighboring businesses located in a small shopping complex. There are no business cards, and no takeout menus available. Customer service is efficient as the staff worked methodically hustling busy to take orders and fulfillment. Our male waiter was attentive to respond to our inquiries and make suggestions based on our desires. I was able to keep the sales receipt. Price is in the rationale realm of stagflation totaling $41.75. Nota Bene: No table hibernation as the table turnover is fast pace with a line overflowing outdoors which cannot interrupt the flow. My foodie synopsis: Pork steam soup dumplings, 6 pcs, siu2 lung4 baau1, 小籠包, $8.75 Very juicy, flavorful and great. It was served piping hot. This is my favorite default dish for every visit at any Shanghainese ethnic cuisine. However, there were no serving tongs provided for this particular appetizer which is industry standard. Preserved cabbage with pork noodle soup, syut3 coi3 juk6 si1 min6, 雪菜肉絲麵 $9.50 This is a satisfying Chinese comfort food. This noodle soup was abundant with noodles, pork and chopped vegetables. It provided warmth to my very broken heart. Shanghai chicken in wine sauce, zeoi3 gai1, 醉雞, $8.95 A traditional Chinese cold appetizer, aka Chinese Drunken chicken made with Chinese Shaoxing cooking wine. It has amazing flavor and texture to be deliciously enticing. Of course, the cooking wine brings flavor to this appetizer making you want more. Shanghai pan fried U-Don noodle, soeng6 hoi2 cou1 caau2 min6, 上海粗炒面, $11.95 Abundant noodles with good consistency and it not heavily filled with grease and oil.
