I've spent a great deal of time in Nee Jersey working on a project. I stumbled on Yoan's Garden from a recommendation on yelp. The staff are so friendly. Owner Anne is always happy and knows her guests by name. The food is amazing. I've had many selections over the past 10 or more years and all are consistently delicious. I'm a big egg foo yung guy and it's tops. The fried rice is dark and full of veggies and pork. The restaurant has a few tables and is bright. It does an incredible take out business. General tso's was pretty bland and the crab rangoons were doughy and chewy. The portion was pretty good, but that's all I can really say.

I ordered delivery to my hotel. I wasn't sure if the food would be left at the front desk so I waited in the lobby. The driver called upon arrival which was nice. The food itself was okay; there is a lot of food for the price you pay but the execution isn't quite there. The crab Rangoon was chewy and the scallion pancake were extra greasy, almost as if the oil was not hot enough before cooking so the foods absorbed the oil. The Kung Pao Chicken was not spicy and the chicken was very chewy. It was hard to tell if it was white or dark meat but texture wasn't pleasant. The edamame was sort of bland but steamed fine. The broccoli was swimming in sauce and had more kick than the chicken. Flavor was good just too much sauce. The pork roast was probably the best part of the meal. First time eating here. Decided to try the chicken fried rice, chicken dumplings, and edamame. Flavor wise the dumplings were ON POINT!!! It's so hard to find good dumplings, but chicken dumplings seem to be a rare find. They're my favorite and they did not disappoint. The fried rice is the first I find with bean sprouts!!!!! I seriously cannot find fried rice with bean sprouts ANYWHERE!!! I was pleasantly surprised. The rice was nearly perfect, flavor wise, unfortunately the texture of the chicken was off to me? Like squishy, not shredded as you find chicken should be, that's a big thing for me. I would order vegetable fried rice for the future for this reason. And I'd never order a chicken dish, unfortunately for this reason. Edamame was good. Steamed to perfection. Can't complain. I like that they're open on Mondays as our spot is always closed on Mondays. It was convenient, found them on yelp, I would definitely order again, just not any meat. I'll leave that for my husband, and try off of him. I'll update as we go. Adding, I was once told by a family member of a Chinese owned restaurant the secret to the chicken is they inject with water, it expands, and they get more profit. He advised me not to eat it and mentioned most cheaper places do this. I already was turned off by it, but ever since I stay away from ordering certain dishes unless I'm at an expensive restaurant. The front of the house staff (those not wearing the uniforms) were eating and chewing around the food the cooks were preparing. This girl had what would be considered to be a rash around her lip due to the cold weather, she wiped her lips off then touched the condiments and objects around. She then sat down at the register to put lip balm on it, I'm disgusted again just thinking about it. They have awards and charge more because of their award and popularity but they should be calling the exterminator for the restaurant. The crab Rangoon is nothing but cream cheese and they are not crispy at all. The orange chicken and the generals chicken were literally the same thing with some random orange rind thrown in the orange chicken which did not add to the flavor. Chicken looked crispy but was soggy with a weird texture. Rice looked great, but had no flavor. Egg rolls were okay as they were what you'd get at any Chinese restaurant as was the wonton soup. I grew up going here and compare all other takeout Chinese to it... and I've had a hard time finding somewhere that hits all of the same things that I enjoyed here since I've moved away. Staff was always friendly and takeout was quick. My go-tos were always pork dumplings, roast pork lo mein (no veggies), and a beef w. broccoli combo. There are plenty of other menu items that I had and enjoyed as well. My family and I have been ordering from Yoan's for about two decades at this point and we have absolutely 0 complaints. It's one of those places that you just feel comfortable with, and with Chinese restaurants, you don't cheat on any other place if you have the ONE you go to - this is it for us. Their general tso's is phenomenal, as well as their filling egg rolls and orange chicken. There is no chicken and broccoli made better than here. So I started coming here about once a week. Same order every time. The food wasn't bad but nothing special. It was just convenient to go to because it's located near my house. Every time I come here, the man behind the counter gives me no trouble but when he's not there, the lady up charges me a dollar each time. This time I saved my receipt of the previous week's order. When I went a few days ago, she tried to up charge me again and I showed her the receipt and she had such a disgusting attitude that I just left the restaurant and found myself a new chinese place. She said "I don't care what the receipt says, this is my price!" China Cafe and Chan's Chinese Food both serve delicious food with great service so those will be my new spots for Chinese food. I really don't understand why she had a need to raise her voice and be so rude. I have never witnessed worse service in my life anywhere else.
