Tried this place 3 times in the past few months, with 3 different dishes. The flavor is bland and lacking. I tried the hot hunan beef, beef with garlic sauce, and pepper steak and onion- all 3 tasted the same. Tried their lunch special? Ordered the pepper steak and it was 80% rice, 15% giant tasteless bell pepper pieces, and 5% actual beef. The lunch special soup comes in a very small water cup and, you guessed it, lacks any flavor and is essentially just hot water with a couple pieces of green onion. The place changed owners. Unfortunate, but I wish the previous family a lovely retirement. I went back to see how the food changed. Majority of it was the same as normal which was fantastic. Only hiccup, I ordered my usual lomein with only broccoli for my child and they charged me extra for broccoli and also gave me other vegetables despite clarifying that I only wanted broccoli and no other vegetables. So I guess it doesn't naturally come with broccoli anymore and I have to be even more clear. read more

This is my neighborhood Chinese take out spot. Whenever I'm craving Chinese take out for lunch on a lazy weekend I order from here. My go to is the sesame chicken lunch combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. First off, the sesame chicken is always nice and crunchy, even after sitting in a steamy container for 15+ minutes. They use dark meat chicken which I prefer so it stays juicy and the sauce is evenly coated over all the chicken. The pork fried rice is also very good. It doesn't taste overly oily and you can taste the bbq pork flavor in it. Lastly the egg roll is a good classic egg roll with cabbage and little pieces of pork all wrapped in a thick, crunchy wrapper. Overall I think it's one of the better Chinese take out places I've had. The lunch combo portion is very filling and it comes out to less than $10 which seems like a deal nowadays. read more

After seeing the good reviews and ratings my coworkers wanted to try this place out for lunch. I don't know what place everyone else went to, but we definitely did not have the same good experience. The place looks like the decor is from the 80 or early 90s. The color scheme was like hanging out at the Max from Saved by the Bell. Wobbly tables are propped up with pieces of wood, torn seat cushions were repaired with black duct tape and the carpet was definitely a little sticky. The food is average at best, but the fried noodles and duck sauce that came as an appetizer were pretty good. The tea we ordered tasted off, as if it was brewed in a moldy pot. They brought my one coworker the completely wrong thing and had to send it back. Part way through the meal something from the ceiling dripped on my boss. Thankfully he was already done eating. Service was lacking. One us asked if the entire table could get water so they only brought out one glass. The same thing happened when we wanted chopsticks. Apparently everyone person has to ask individually to get anything. The last thing I did was try to use the bathroom. I wish I did this first because I would have walked out immediately. The toilet had a ring in it as if it wasn't cleaned in months. I looked at the sink and it looked like it was covered in filth. I could only wonder what the cleanliness in rest of the place looked like, especially in the kitchen. I regretted eating anything since I now doubted the quality of the food. I am never coming back here. If you are in the area, you're better off going to Hong Kong Kitchen on Easton Ave. read more

How could I have not reviewed this place. What ! This is my childhood ! I grew up on this Chinese spot. I absolutely love it. They have been so consistent over the years, no doubt my favorite Chinese place. I love coming for lunch and sitting in the dining area because they give the wonton chips with duck sauce. Which can be finished in two minutes and they don't mind giving more. They have lunch combos for a reasonable price. My favorite meal here is wonton soup to start and beef and broccoli combo with pork fried rice. The wonton soup has pork pieces and scallions in it. So tasty and not salty. Put the wonton chips in there to really enjoy it. The beef and broccoli combo is definitely enough food for two meals but I always have it in one. The beef is small pieces and drenched in the beef sauce they make it in. It's tiny bit oily but mix it with the rice to soak some of it up. Their shrimp with lobster sauce is also really good. Shrimp toasts appetizers are good but ooze with oil sometimes. read more

Pretty good. Not the best, but pretty good. I liked the egg roll, and the sauce for the dumplings was awesome. But, the steamed dumplings were VERY doughy, and maybe even a little under cooked. The crab rangoon could have also used more time in the fryer. The general tsao's used very small pieces of chicken, but they were nice and crunchy... just the way I like it. The sauce was very good, but the problem was they put this into the plastic togo container steaming hot. This led to a ton of condensation and I had to pour water out of the container. Wife loved the chicken chow fun, but it had mushrooms in it, which was different and not what she likes. Even so, there were only a few she was able to pick out and according to her she couldn't taste them in the dish, so she wasn't to upset. The best thing I had was the spare ribs. Huge, meaty, good sauce, not overcooked, and not too much fat. These are excellent. read more

The menu has changed since the last time we ordered from there, and prices have gone up! I ordered a lot of food for an event that I had at my university. The food is still relatively cheap, but it doesn't blow you away by any means. The people were very accommodating to our needs and added plates, napkins, and silverware. They also gave mustard, hot sauce, and duck sauce. Something that I didn't like was that instead of labeling the food (which I asked if they did) they just put the menu item number. With so many dietary restrictions, it became a bit of a challenge for us to decipher between the menu items and label them accordingly to not mix up veg with non veg and seafood. read more

Wow!!! What a fantastic place. The food was beyond delicious and fresh. We randomly picked this place and will be our go to place when we visit. We chose to eat in and knew we picked the right place when the flow of people was non stop coming in. Most people do get it to go but we wanted to stay in. Food was so fresh we had to wait for it to cool off. This probably why people get it to go. Staff was friendly even among the throngs of people and phone calls that never stopped. read more

I decided to try this place after hearing good things about it. I've been looking for a place with a decent beef fried rice. It's your typical Chinese food restaurant and the food was made quickly. The price was about average. But I have to say my search will go on as I really did not like the beef fried rice that I ordered. The food was cooked properly but it had absolutely no flavor. This is not the place to go to for authentic Chinese fair, but if you like crispy fried Americanized Schezuan styled dishes, this is a great choice. This place has THE BEST General Tso I have ever eaten, and for a few years of my life I was on a General Tso kick.. I kid not when I say I've had Tso at a minimum of 50 restaurants from CT to MD and each state in between.. The chicken is lightly coated with corn starch and fried to a perfect crisp while not being over cooked, and the sauce is superb. I've had many other dishes there but I always go back for the General Tso. Stay away from Cantonese dishes (in particular Lobster Cantonese)... This is not the restaurant for that type of fair. Stick to spicy, crunchy, Americanized Chinese and you'll do well here. If you go for the Tso, here's a tip.. Ask for "extra garlic" and "extra spicy," if you're into spicy food. You can also ask them to substitute beef for the chicken (which is an extra dollar). They use thinly sliced beef which really holds the corn starch well when it's being fried.. You'll end up with a really crispy, juicy, memorable dish.. General Tso's beef :) read more
