Just picked up a lunch special chicken chow mein from China Moon. I've worked in the area for 10+ years and have lived in the area 20+ years. China Moon has always been a very good go-to option for good takeout. It's small/medium in size. There used to be a couple tables for dine-in but I don't see them anymore. Perhaps that's a COVID change. The counter employee's have always been friendly and quick to take my order. Food is also prepared pretty quickly which makes it a good option if you decide to walk in and order as opposed to call in advance then picking it up. I personally wouldn't consider it traditional in flavor. There are traditional Chinese options but like most neighborhood Chinese takeout, the food has taken on an American flare. That doesn't mean it's bad. I've been to traditional Chinese places and the same dishes taste decidedly different. China Moon offers very good neighborhood takeout. A few dishes I consistently order & like there are: Chicken Chow Mein Chow Mei Fun Beef & Broccoli Beef & Garlic Sauce Rib Tips (so yummy) General's chicken Chicken wings (really good if made fresh!) I have lived in this area my whole life and have had the same go tos for decades.. when some things changed, China Moon was recommended. I'm glad that I gave them a try. Hole in the wall, typical Chinese spot, but the food is really tasty. My grandfather loves their broccoli in brown sauce and shrimp egg fu yung. We've tried just about every Chinese place within 5 miles and this is always the most consistent. Chicken and garlic sauce is my favorite. Haven't been to this restaurant in years... tried it again and it was good. Nothing out of your ordinary Chinese take out place. I did like their egg rolls, they weren't oily at all. General Tso's Chicken was good also. & the fried wings. The Boneless Spare ribs were kind of a disappointment. They were very over cooked and dry. Almost burnt. -Staff was friendly too when I called for my delivery. & delivery timing was good. I think I would stay away from the boneless ribs but, I would definitely eat there again. read more

I'm not a huge fan of most Chinese take-out places, but when we left the Urgent Care facility, China Moon was staring us in the face. Since it was close enough to dinner time, we decided to try it for the first time. We ordered Garlic Chicken and Singapore noodles. I always ask for broccoli and extra ginger the chicken dish. I don't know if it usually has broccoli or even if we were charged extra, but they got both of those right. But I forgot to tell them to leave out the sugar. The dish was very good, but it was much too sweet, even by usual standards. The Singapore noodles were excellent, with a nice combination of chicken, roast pork, some shrimp, and egg. I like this dish because there's no gloppy sauce, and it didn't disappoint. China Moon is a solid 3.5, but I'm upping it to 4 stars because the portions are substantial and tasty, and I'd definitely order from them again. Best Chinese food in the area! The fried rice tastes fresh, the general tso chicken has a slight crisp to it which compliments the sauce and the fried wontons are to die for and never come soggy like other spots I've ordered from. Plus it's pretty quick and the prices are reasonable. read more

I have been going to this place for 5 years. And I see how every years the quality of food has declined today I got take out and picked it up. I order boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice when I open the container the meat smelled rotten I showed my husband and he saw the meat was definitely rotten / old it had a really strong odor. I ended up not eating anything and wasting my money . I will not come back here again. China Moon is my favorite local 'American' Chinese place. The quality is actually really good- always fresh and plentiful meats and veggies. In particular, the chicken and broccoli is always delicious. Tender, large pieces of chicken and fresh, well-sauced broccoli. They also excel at order accuracy- I routinely order for 15+ people and our meals are typically perfect, even when I'm specifying white rice/plain fried rice/pork fried rice and wonton soup/egg roll/hot and sour soup options for each of our combinations. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! I didn't feel like cooking dinner yesterday evening so my family decided to order from this resturant. It was a huge order over 60 dollars. First of all it took a very long time for delivery and we didn't receive all of our order. We ordered large shrimp lo mien ...5 small dried up shrimps. The fry chicken wings was hard and looked old and taste less my grandson didn't want it and so was the rest of our food order. The food was horrible we had to throw out most of it . We called moon china and let them know how upset, unhappy and inconvenient it was for us. We had to find other food to supplement our dinner and etc....they refused to compensate for anything! I have been getting delivery from China Moon for nearly a decade, at both work home, and they are by far the most consistent chinese takeout place in the area. They deliver late at night and the delivery guy actually delivered to my house during Hurricane Sandy on his way home late that night (close to midnight). When I call or walk in they know exactly who I am (although they know me by my street address) and I have never been refused a delivery. There are different style chinese places in the area that may suit people's tastes more and may be better/different than China Moon but if I order from them I know exactly what I am getting. P.S. they have the best boneless ribs in town, they cook them in a broiler/salamander and they have great flavor, tender, and have just the right char on them. read more

But we found a different place in the area that is truly excellent so I'm afraid we will be taking China Moon off of our list of places. When we first tried it, we liked it very much. Cleanest Chinese in this area. I recommend their Shrimp dishes. Large portions and they use large/jumbo shrimp.
