The other I visited China Garden to purchase some food for dinner. I ordered chicken with broccoli only to find out when I got home. That the only thing they gave me was broccoli by its self. When I called the restaurant to complain they said well we didn't charge you for the chicken. Scams. I would probably never eat at that restaurant again. As far as Chinese takeout goes, this is as good as it gets. Good lunch specials, good combination plates, all the standard foods you crave. They are always busy, and quick turnaround is a good sign for quality. And it's not salty. My orders are always ready for pickup within 15 minutes. This place is fantastic. Up and down the menu it's hard to find something that scores below fantastic. We often order the same thing all the time because it never gets old when it's great tasting quality food . The best part is the serving size and the women who takes down our orders never makes a mistake. In this industry multitasking greatly reduces the accuracy of what you order and really looking forward to bust she does it flawlessly and she is very kind . Very unprofessional!! I have ordered from them a couple times and the only issue is a very long wait time but that's okay. I tried ordering per usual today and they were missing one of my items. (That's no problem I'm quite understanding) but when I called back to order the item he said "you're too far, we're too busy rn sorry I can't take your order". The place is 10 minutes from my job and I ordered many times before but all of a sudden it's "too far"? Then he was yelling on the phone saying "too many orders, I don't want to do your order". The food wasn't bad, but it also wasn't good either. While the staff was friendly I also feel like they weren't listening to me. Example, I asked for my order to be dine in, but it was packaged up as a to go order. Lately I've been trying to be more conscious of my waste and i saw this as frivolous. Prices here are fair, from the things I order I'd say they're consistent with other Chinese food places in the area. Parking is typically good but today there was a huge dumpster in the parking lot for construction garbage. I placed an order at 6 PM and it is now 7:36 PM and they are still not here even though they promised no later than 6:44 PM. three telephone calls to the business, and they keep telling me "he's almost there" -- for the past half hour the same reply, "he's almost there" ... China Garden is my go-to spot for Chinese primarily because its close proximity to me. The staff is pleasant and on task-- as in any smooth running restaurant. The food is average in taste, nothing to write home about. One item that I particularly enjoy, is the fried dumplings and the sauce that accompanies it. They never let me down. Typical greasy chop stick, this place is probably below average though. The dumplings were mostly dough I don't really appreciate that all that much. They had the whole "credit card minimum" thing going. I don't even think that's in their agreement with the credit card company; If you accept the credit cards then you accept the credit cards. He mentioned a "$10 minimum" but I just ordered the dumplings for $6.35 he wanted to charge me $.50 to use my Visa card. If you're having a problem with the credit card company commissions cutting into your profit then I guess you have to raise your price or deal with it. It's not my job to directly pay for it. Nothing else really to mention here, like I said below average tasting as well as the "service". I guess it's good if you know their choice at least they were open. read more

I've been getting from this place for awhile, and the food is decent. I never had any issues up until the last two times I ordered. The first incident they forgot a part of my order, but I didn't bother contacting them. They second time they forgot something again, so I called them. The woman on the phone was extremely rude. I've been going to this take-out for 17 years. I like their food. Just recently they started charging $2.00 delivery charge. I can't give the delivery guy less of a tip because his boss instituted this charge can I? Last week my wife ordered chicken lo mein. She ate some of it but I ate most of it. I found three sharp chicken bones in it. I should have gone back to complain but so far I haven't. They do make mistakes sometimes on you order but not everyone is perfect. Im pretty surprised at the difference reviews listed on Yelp. I've been living in this area for over 10 years and have tried all the other Chinese food places at various times. I keep coming back to China Garden. I don't venture to other dishes so the Gen Tso's is my usual and once in a while I'll get the Chicken and Brocc. For me the rice is tastier than other places, the texture is always perfect as well as the balance of flavor. I enjoy the egg roll given, with the combo platters and have never had any bad reaction from food not being cooked. I only wish they were located a little closer to me, but their location isn't bad if your headed South on Rt 27 of Rt 1, easy access on Finnegans Lane. read more
