Friends went to dinner at a small location of the very well know Moghul for catering for many events and we were looking forward to the food. We were so filled up with non-veg and veg items that we only had time to try the goat entrée which was excellent . Spring rolls, chicken dumplings and a few others. All super. Worth a return visit. read more

I love this place. I come here so much just to get lemon coriander soup. they are vegetarian friendly and they have Jain options. I bring my family here and everybody gets fed. The service is good. The food comes out quick and it's tasty. My only issue was is that I think it may be unsanitary. There was a cockroach in the bathroom, which is unacceptable for a restaurant to have besides that the place is great, but the health factor does worry me that it seems very unsanitary. read more

Have been in and around this place lots of time, but never been to moghul. It was early evening and I wanted to drink a fresh tea and some snacks . Though there are lots of restaurants around , I chose to try moghul. First of all- nicely located right ion NJ 27 and lots of parking . Nice interiors with lots of tables to sit and dine . They also have a bake shop.. Firstly , I'm writing this review only for what I had . I'll probably come back and have full fledged dinner and update my review . Was tired and ordered tea and I saw that it's an instant tea from a machine :( uffff.. didn't expect that . I thought it was a freshly made Masala tea. Samosa was ok.. wasn't oily .. it was average . Sauces were really good . Nice service and quick billing . read more

There's so many Indian restaurants in the area but this is definetly one I recommend. Standouts on the menu was the Manchurian with gravy and the fried rice - both spicy and just hit the spot. It's a cute place, more for a chill lunch not necessarily the most upscale. But it hits the spot when you're craving some yummy food read more

Dining at Moghul after a very long gap and it was a good experience. Some hits a few misses , which was surprising for a place that's always been soo good . Butter Chicken was not as fresh and the Chicken was chewy. We asked for 1 roti with no butter or oil but they served all the bread for the table with no oil or butter. But they gave us another basket of fresh hot buttered rotis The Sheek kabab was very good with lots of ginger and mild spices. I liked the Aloo papdi Chaat , Black pepper chicken dry , Baingan Bartha and Palak paneer . Their bake shop desserts are worth indulging . Rasmalai tres leches cake and Chocolate Bon bon were both divine . read more

We ordered the shaam savera & paneer tikka masala both of whose gravy (base curry) was similar in taste although the shaam savera tasted better. Also ordered the schezwan paneer pizza whose sauce didn't taste fresh & was sour. I would have given this place 4 stars if they hadn't charged a mandatory gratuity for a group of 4 & to top it off had an option to add gratuity (which we did since we weren't aware) read more

Delicious food. Fast service. Masala chai was so good. Mysore masala Dosa was ok. Bit spicy for my pallet. Regular dosa was superb crunchy. Sham Savera was very good they should give one more of the sham savera. Three is not enough. Goat Biryani really tasty .Chilli chicken spicy bit good .Enjoyed their masala drink also . read more

Visiting family and decided to head out to dinner. My family raves about this place and I am happy to report it met all my expectations. This place is what true Indian food should be like. I have yet to find anything even .1% close to this back in Des Moines! Des Moines do better!!! We went in on a Friday night and the place was packed! Basically you order and they bring the food to the table. We got the butter chicken, dal makhani, garlic naan, butter naan, papdi chat omg so good! Paneer tikka, malai chicken, fish pakora. And for the kiddos we got plain noodles which were very deceiving but flavorful. Overall this place deserves more than 10 stars. I didn't get much pictures so here is all I can offer. There is a huge Indian community around this Jersey area so that I think places a huge role in the food expectations. Overall wonderful experience I absolutely loved it. Can not wait to come back. Order up front food is brought to the table Parking available They accept credit cards and cash Prepare to wait for a table read more

Pretty mediocre food according to me. I avoid going here. Go cause I am forced to. Service sucks read more

Good food fast service and excellent staff. Consistency is the key and they are always consistent in their food quality

Not sure what happened, but the food tasted quality has dropped since the last time I have been at this place. I ordered chicken and lamb vondool it's pretty much sauce and meat. It didn't have much of taste as it before. Not sure if the management has changed, but all food taste no longer the same. read more

Their papdi chat, mango lassi, chicken hakka noodles, chicken fried rice are all outstanding in taste.

The food was amazing, the butter chicken was incredible. I would definitely go back. I went for a work outing and enjoyed it.

Honestly, if I could give this establishment infinity stars I would! The food was just so incredibly good!! Came here prior to the pandemic with some of my co-workers as it was highly recommended and my only regret is that 1. We had not gone prior! and 2. I am over an hour away and am tempted to take the drive just to get some take out! The entire table got the Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan and an order of the Chili Garlic Fried Rice for the table. As we were waiting, the aromas that filled the restaurant had you salivating even before the food got to the table! We got the Chili Garlic Fried Rice first and it was packed with flavor! It was not overly garlicky or overly spicy. It was the perfect combination of flavor. But nothing could beat the Chicken Tikka Masala. Holy amazingness!! It was so like I died and went to Indian Flavor Heaven!! The creaminess of the Masala sauce left you wanting more Naan to dip it in! The chicken was juicy and tender and went you mixed it altogether with the rice, oh my! Soooo good! I ate until I could not eat anymore and even when they were clearing the table, I had to take just a little more Naan to scrape off the little Masala sauce that was left! Yes, it was that good!! And it was pretty cool that they had an area where you could pack your own leftovers since it could get a little messy! I cannot wait to physically go back to work because this is the first place I am going to for takeout! read more

Pretty solid food, both in terms of takeout and also in a sitdown environment (pre-COVID). Just like its counterpart in Edison, you can get a potpourri of options, including Tandoor, South Indian, Indo Chinese, Thai, Gujarati food, etc. The food is generally standard to what you'd expect in Edison. Service is generally decent during takeout. My recommendations are below (not in any particular order): 1) Garlic Naan 2) Malai Kofta 3) Palak Paneer 4) Paneer Tikka Masala 5) Samosa 6) Gobi 65 7) Vada Pav 8) Manchurian (though watch out as it might be too spicy for some) 9) Dal Makhani 10) Any of the Biryanis 11) Mango Lassi read more

I often come here when I'm craving noodles or spicy fusion food. They have many options to choose from and I love trying their appetizers, noodles, and rice dishes. Great place to get take out! read more

Definitely good food , spicy though but very flavorful, The could use a nicer ambience but it's more of a Dhaba style india street food joint , with good food if you care only for that read more

Butter Chicken was super rubbery, couldn't eat it. although sauce was ok. Not the best. Aloo Padi Chat was very good. I would def give them another try and stick to veggie options as opposed to meat. Sort of disappointed based on other reviews. read more

Great food! Good as always. Love tier Hakka noodles, Schzewan fried rice, chilly potatoes, Manchurian

Tried moghul after quite a few months as last time I went we did not have a good experience Well I think after todays trip I may not go to moghul again which is a shame. It used to be my go to place for Indian food as it was consistently good I think both the quality and service has gone downhill over last couple of years We ordered Tokri chaat, Alu papri chaat and Rava masala dosa Basically the Tokri Chaat and alu papri chaat tasted the same and had similar ingredients. Plus it wasn't very good. We had tried those before and they used to taste different as ingredients were different . The rave dosa was ok and I have had better As I mentioned this may have been my last trip as now we have many choices for food. I think a shame if moghul doesn't take proactive actions to improve their service and food quality as other enterprises will drive them out if their food and service is better read more

The customer service is pathetic. Only worried about the tips. The food was horrible! Oily and salty Very disappointed!

The best representation of Indian food in central jersey (and very reasonably priced). This location is my go to but the Edison one (also the original) is just as good! Their chicken makhani with naan and masala dosa are my favorites. They have a pretty thorough menu with lots of options for whatever you are craving! Their drums of heaven off the Indo Chinese menu are dynamite! My word of advice: if and when you do go, make sure you come hungry, because you're going to want to order everything! read more

For"fast food", if you love Indian food, this place is great!! They have both northern and southern, vegetarian and not, and Chinese inspired as well, though I've not had any. The food is delicious, my favorite being the palak paneer. You can choose different spice levels, so the food is good for those who don't like spicy (I do!). The naan is fluffy and warm, the rice flavorful with whole spices (probs best not to eat them) and I luuuv the mango lassi. The restaurant is super clean and they have to go containers readily available for when you can't finish the enormous servings. Download the app and your food can be waiting for you when you arrive! read more

Good food and lots of options. The service is also good. Ambience is average and don't expect much.

Their butter chicken is soooooooo good. But their garlic naan is to die food and so well made!!

This place is Mithaas's non-vegetarian brother. So, here is my review about Mithaas: "Mithaas is that small Indian place where you will definitely feel like you are sitting in a restaurant back home in India. Food: You will get all the chaat delicacies here. And they all have the potential to have you crying out of homesickness. Their Manchurian fried rice is a must have. Also are their aam panna, badam milk, sweets, bread pakoda, khandvi, hakka noodles and the list will never get over. Service: Sweet people. Very aware of your requests and promptly take care of them. The food arrives pretty fast too so you do not have to sit there with growling tummies. Recommendation: You should definitely try this place out. I promise it will make you super happy because it's exactly like home. Its a "must visit" kinda place." In addition to all this, Moghul's pani puri, chicken noodles and drums of heaven are a mjust try. I love both these joints. You should visit them if you are in the area. read more

Point blank, ignore the bad reviews. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the bad ratings are malicious as there are a ton of other Indian restaurants in the area and Moghul Express has got to be killing their business. This place is the best thing to happen to Indian food in the area and an extremely welcomed addition from where I stand. The food is amazing, fresh, hot, cooked to order and quickly. It's the "quick casual" of Indian cuisine. The restaurant is clean, the staff is attentive and the place is always busy but not so busy that you can't grab a spot in the seat yourself dinning room. They do a huge amount of take out business too (no doubt due to the amazing app that makes ordering a breeze and you even get $5 off your first mobile order through the app!) I love the variety of people that come through the door, it's a melting pot of patrons all coming to dine on the delicious eats. There is seriously something on the menu for everyone and if you aren't a fan of spices just ask for your order to be mild. They are more than happy to accommodate where possible. On a final note, save room for dessert. The German chocolate layered mouse in the cup is seriously worth every calorie! read more

As such my exp has been decent until now: Got chicken manchurian and it was horrible...just horrible. My suggestion to mgmt is 1. Reduce list in menu 2. Focus on quality This is an old establishment and its not worth compromising in quality . read more

Someone told me they have good halal Chinese. Ordered take out a couple of days back. Customer service was great. Talked to a young chubby kid from Bombay. I asked him what I should order or what he likes the best. He suggested chicken chili. I ordered that with veg fried rice. My order was neatly packed which is VERY rare at desi restaurants. The food tasted good. I'd definitely return to try more dish. I tried Chinese so can't speak for desi food. Gave me all the sauces. Also gave me 2 forks and knives, enough napkins and hot sauce and green chilies in vinegar, though you have that with soup. Point is, no nickel and dimming customers. A+ Prices are reasonable. Portions are good. Highly recommended! Salam, Namaste! read more

Its a great relief to have an option other than Spice Rack on this stretch of road for Indian Non-Vegetarian cuisine. Mogul Express belongs to the same clan of high end india restaurants who own Mithaas, Urban Spice, Mings etc. In that Mogul caters primarily to the carnivores amongst us. Taste and quality wise they have always been consistent through all their locations and this one is no exception. Although quantity is something then can (read must) look into. Priced aptly at an avg. of $10-$12 per item the food it great but not enough to curb your hunger to the fullest. Me being a big grilled meat fan I did all tandoor items and everything was spot on although spice levels are bit americanized, mild for Indian palette and mind you I ain't no spice lover. Verdict - Spice Rack better up their game this new kid on the block got some moves. read more

I have been to this restaurant many times, each time for Indo-Chinese food only. The noodles, dumplings and fried rice are all amazing. The service is good as well. I believe some of the reviews have been unfair to the restaurant. read more
