Andaaz - Andaaz Restaurant - The Best Indian Restaurant in Franklin Park for Fine Dining & Authentic Flavors

Andaaz

Andaaz, which means style in Hindi, certainly offers style and flair in its elegant ambiance and…read moreextravagant presentation of pan-Indian cuisine. Executive chef Ashish Tiwari demonstrates his culinary creativity with sumptuous ghee-roasted lamb chops which are a must-order from the appetizers. Another standout was the eclectic vegetarian platter featuring delicious pesto paneer tikka and crispy Thai lotus root chips that taste like savory jalebis. The main course that we ordered was not as appealing as the appetizers. The Jaipuri malai kofta tomato curry was poured tableside by the attentive staff and went well with the freshly baked garlic naan but the kofta itself was not memorable. The serrano and lemongrass mocktail tasted like a spicy margarita and was well crafted. The textures of gulab had a stunning presentation but only the small scoop of gulab jamun ice cream was a standout as the rest of the components were mostly for show. It is quite expensive but worth going to once for a special occasion.

I was here with my work colleagues a couple Nights ago and…read morewhile the ambiance was good, food overall was okay. When I travel to NY/NJ, I hope for a better tasting Indian food because of larger Indian population and popular destinations. We tried several dishes - peanut masala (was average); tempura cauliflower type veg appetizer (was not good at all - no taste), paneer app (was okay, nothing wow about it), chicken 65 was average too, noorjahan chicken app was good. But a side of chutney would have helped. My colleagues loved the smoked corn soup, but found eating corn cob quite weird. We had some variety of biryani too - veg biryani was good. Chicken biryani was just okay. While mutton biryani was good too. Service was good overall. I could see cocktails had pretty good presentation. Kulfi was liked by most of the colleagues. Moong dal halwa was good and presented differently. Was happy to see Caymus on the wine list, and enjoyed that. Overall good for one time visit.

Samudhra - Murgh Bhut Jolokia tikka is a delicious dish, it was spicy and flavorful.

We visited Samudhra for a family dinner and quickly realized this is not your usual casual dinner…read morespot it has an elevated, polished vibe, so dress to impress when you plan your visit. The food was absolutely amazing, with flavors that were perfectly on point in every dish we tried. They also accommodate jain food upon special request. Their homemade paneer is a true standout and something we would definitely return for. Portion sizes were decent, making it ideal for a relaxed sit-down dinner with family. Prices are slightly on the higher side, and you might experience a bit of a wait once the order is placed, but the taste and ambiance make it well worth it. Overall, a wonderful dining experience and a great place for a memorable family night out.

This is one of the few upscale Indian restaurants in the area. The ambiance strikes a nice balance…read more- lively enough to feel energetic but still conducive to conversation. My only issue was the dim red lighting, which made it difficult to appreciate the vibrant colors of the dishes. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but the generous portions help justify the cost. The butter chicken was great and well-executed. The malai kofta, however, really needed naan to shine - it didn't quite hold up on its own. As for the drinks,, let's just say they don't skimp on the pour. ;) It's more of a 3.5-star experience. But since I have to round, I'm giving it 4 stars because of the service staff.

I was surprised with the amount of space inside .. best for a family get together with 10 plus members . Lots of seating inside . It was empty when we went but I'm sure it's busy on weekends. We ordered online and picked it up. Service was quick . We ordered paneer tikka masala . It was very good but a tinge of sweet . Quality was good . Went well with naan . Will have to go back and try their other stuff. . Wish they had a thali (not sure if they do) .. I have seen many good chicken tandoori dishes . Price is also not too high. Market rate . I wanted to give 4 stars but gave it a 5 because almost everything has check marks . will go back and if the experience is different , I'll update this review. 5 star

First of all I…read morewant to say I think it's so nice of them to have vegetarian options, Jain options, and nonveg options on their menu. It definitely is a vast selection, but maybe we picked the wrong things. We had the following: Manchow soup with veg - good! Chicken 65 - lots of food coloring, so unhealthy, but dish was yummy Chili Lotus - lots of food coloring, but dish was yummy TM's Chicken Curry - coconut milk base dish, might be fine for someone else but tasted bland to me Lamb Biryani - I'm used to South Indian Hyderbadi Dum Biryani, so this biryani was not it for me. It has a tomato gravy type taste, and the lamb pieces were abundant and soft. It wasn't bad, but just not to my personal taste and anyone who's wishing to have something like a spicy Hyderbadi Dum Biryani, I would not recommend. Garlic naan- amazing Mango lassi - I've had better and would not recommend here. It was really thick and a little tasteless. They are a fusion restaurant, so I'm thinking maybe they made all the food taste a little blander to accommodate to everyone, but for anyone trying to get authentic spicy Indian food, I would not recommend. The vibe here is so nice though for a date or friends or gathering, plenty of space. The waiters and owners are extremely nice and attentive and polite.
