Tried this place with mixed reviews in mind, but definitely had some hope that it will satisfy my craving for a classic Indo-Chinese street style fare, and it definitely did to most part of the meal. We got ourselves, Chilli chicken (dry), Egg Hakka Noodles and Szechuan Fish gravy, they were all good, but the chili chicken was the star, perfectly spiced, tender and juicy, nicely diced peppers, just spot on. Noodles were excellent too. The fish was not very appealing and the gravy tasted a little raw/from the jar type. Can't really comment much on the service, as we went on a Monday night, and we were the only one dining in, and I think the person who served us was the person who owned the place. The only negatives from our first visit are, for a three dishes, shared between two it costed us $50 which is very expensive according to me considering this is no fancy place. And the fact that a $5 gratuity was automatically added for a two people table, very uncommon from my experience. Over all a decent fare, if all you are looking for is Indo-Chinese flavors.

A local joint in North Brunswick NJ. It offers a fusion of Indian, Malaysian, Thai and Chinese food. The dish full of rich flavor and Spices, which I like a lot. The price is reasonable and has good portion for sharing with friends and family. I recommend this place when you are in the area and want to try something local. You won't be disappointed.

Food is just ok. Fried rice is below average. It has green peas and very few other veggies. Chili paneer dry was nice. Chicken lollipop had no taste. Just fried chicken without any spice.

Mixed Hakka noodles with chicken, shrimp, vegetables, and hot garlic sauce

I ordered the mix Hakka noodles with chicken, shrimp, vegetables, and hot garlic sauce. It was quite tasty and had a nice spicy kick to it. Spice level for me: 5 out of 10. Spice level for the average person: 7 We also ordered the lotus with honey and chili sauce. It was tasty and pretty spicy. My spice rating: 7.5 / average person rating: 11! However, when we asked how spicy it was they said a very under rated 3. I like spicy so it was good for me. The food was authentic indo-chinese. The owner Reena was nice and chatted with us a bit and told us the origins of the food. The waitress was quite attentive and accommodating, bringing out a bowl of hot water to help put out the fiery food. Come her if you like authentic indo-chinese food and like spicy food.

This place is a solid three stars based on decor, service and food. Not special in any way but nice enough if you live close by. It is a little out of the way for us, but I tried it based on a Amazon voucher. Decor is nice enough. I will post some pix. Tables are laminated with an interesting Oriental pattern. Cloth napkins. Carafes of water at the table. Since the water is put out before service, it is room temp, not chilled. Normal silverware. I assume that chopsticks are available upon request. In many Asian restaurants, it is the other way around. Background music was something jazzy, American, not ethnic. We stopped in early for lunch on a Saturday, ordering from the full menu. Corn soup was decent. Hot and sour soup was just passable and had a lot more heat than normal. My wife had the lamb in a Malay curry sauce. Nice sauce. The lamb was good, not exactly tender but properly cooked. I had the shrimp in a Thai yellow curry sauce. The sauce was just OK but there were six nicely cooked jumbo shrimp. Both dishes served with a side of basmati rice - light and fluffy - not sticky rice. Both portions are big enough to bring some home. Price value on the menu is excellent, even without a coupon. While contemplating the sauce on her lamb, my wife commented that no bread was served. Not unusual for a Chinese or Thai place but since this place is fusion I would have expected some naan. After the meal, I asked our server if they had any coffee or tea. Nope. I thought that a Thai iced coffee or a chai tea should have been available or maybe a nicely presented pot of Jasmine tea. Out of the way for us; but I would be back if it was close by. As I said earlier. Good but not special. Worth the money. Location is on Rt 130 North, across from Shop-Rite. Parking in front is limited but there is a large parking lot in the back, driveway is on the right as you pull in. Unfortunately the menu is not available on line. I will post a pix of the takeout menu - which is not as extensive and a couple of bucks cheaper than the dine-in menu.

When it comes to food, I never judge a burger by its bun, so thanks to Yelp for helping me find it. The sign in the window says "Asian fusion" which usually sends me running as it's often a cop-out label for bad mixed-up Asian cooking, but this is authentic y'all, meaning true-to-tradition dishes with a sometimes more contemporary application of ingredients or flavors. The "fusion" part must come from the fact that they have a small Taiwanese section as well as the main Szechuan/Sichuan menu, alongside a few familiar Chinese-American favorites like sesame chicken or broccoli x protein, so you can get that here too. Everything we ordered was phenomenal! Great flavors, generous portions, cooked with confidence and finesse. Compliments to the kitchen - they really know what they're doing. Not a single dish was lacking. They even put out peanuts at the start and serve fresh orange slices at the end of the meal. Very old school. We loved it all: * Salt & white pepper crispy chicken ("Taiwanese specialty") - well-battered and flavored, and perfectly crispy * Taiwanese minced pork rice * Chicken red curry - fabulous, with fresh vegetables and just the right balance of spice * Golden dish (fish) - very special dish in a salted duck egg yolk batter * Beef chow fun * Marinated crispy duck Wish I lived closer, but will definitely come back when we are in the area. Best of the best - very highly recommended!

But with that said, my girl wanted some Indo Chinese.... so we made the trip here to see whether it's worth a second visit. Now, to be clear: the Rose is a Pan Asian Cuisine. So it's not necessarily just Indo Chinese, but it also encompasses flavors from all the other countries too. We ended up ordering 3 items in the following order: 1a: Gobi Manchurian 1b: Smoked Vegetable Sizzler 2: Mushroom Sautéed in Ginger Garlic We ordered the first two together and those arrived relatively quickly. The Gobi Manchurian was the better of the two, but I wonder if it was a bit too overpowered with spice and less of the sweet and sour taste (or even the soy sauce). The spice was a bit too overbearing. The sizzler was fine, but it was mostly onions and peppers. The tofu - while cooked fine - surprised me because it was like the silky ma po tofu (which coincidentally is what they serve here). In other words, the same tofu is repeated across multiple meals. I think the tofu needed to be pan fried at least for a sizzler. Because of the above, we didn't feel full and thought that the mushroom would provide a different taste pallet. Unfortunately, that was a miss as the mushroom had the same taste as the gobi manchurian, when it should've been infused with the ginger garlic. Additionally, the mushroom was way too overcooked so you couldn't even taste them either. It was like a crunchy mushroom. No good. To make things worse, the waiter, who also manned the front desk, seemed a bit too aloof at times. Often that meant not refilling water unless prompted and not providing the check on time or not even setting up the tables properly with silverware. It was a bit disappointing. This place has the potential, especially with the cute decor. But failed execution with the food and some lackluster service do not make this a place I'd recommend in the future.

The parents were trying to figure out what to order, and asked our server for recommendations - he suggested something called the "Triple Schezuan" which was a combination of rice, noodles, spicy sauce, manchurian pieces, and more. They RAVED about this dish - the portion was also massive! Service was wonderfully attentive and best of all they don't use any cilantro in their food! Hallelujah!
