Lunch special menu
Mimie H.

Happy China has been around for yeaaaarss. Their establishment used to be where Eckerd was on W. Seventh St. which is now of course a Walgreens. I was sad that the original owners sold it to somebody else maybe 5 yrs or so ago because the food tasted so bad and was so bland! So I stopped going there. But recently, I wanted to give them another shot to see if their food has gotten any better. I'm so glad I did! The food tastes exactly how I remembered it back in the late 90's and early '00. So far I've tried the chicken with broccoli lunch special with pork fried rice and an egg roll. It was very good and tasty. I've also tried the boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice and egg drop soup, both were sooo delicious :-P Also, both times I've gone, the workers there have been very courteous and very friendly. I will definitely be back! Maybe I'll try the chicken wings next time ;-) Next time, I won't forget to take pics lol.

Nice staff, good service. Their food is always delicious. Very few locations that you can find in the area as good as Happy China.

Best Chinese food in the area. Fresh and fast service. My favorite is the house Lo-mein. Well season and flavorful.

Service was indecent, food was alright. I usually don't write reviews but their customer service disgusted me.

Side note, as I was sitting waiting for my food, I was reminded that the Chinese takeout is a beautiful thing.

We were given an iPad and ordered the following: Preserved eggs mixed with tofu - Hubs and Daughter loved this a lot, especially the century eggs. She said that she wished that the bowl was bigger. She was fighting us for it. LOL Grilled Stripe bass (2 lb) with Spicy tofu pudding flavor, luncheon meat, golden combination, black fungus, beancurd stick, mini sausage, instant noodles. Hubs said that he would've preferred the buffalo fish because he thought it tasted better. But, it was too many bones for Daughter and I, so he got the stripe bass instead. This was delicious! It was nice and spicy but not too spicy. Just the right amount. We also ordered white rice, but we only got a bowl and was hoping for more. They were generous with the instant noodle, though. It came in a small casserole pot. Hubs love this place. He loves the presentation of the fish with sides surrounding it in a big rectangular heated platter. There's this big wall of video going on with karaoke for those who are interested in singing. There was only one other table dining when we were there, so no one was singing during that time. Service was what you'd expect at a Chinese restaurant, quick and efficient. Will definitely to try other fish entrees when we get a chance!

The crawfish is also packed with flavor. The garlic, umami taste is well worth the effort of peeling these little guys. Service: 5/5 Efficient and attentive. Our waters were refilled promptly and our used plates were also cleared. Ambiance: 4/5 It a casual, large dining room. Nothing noteworthy minus the huge screen showing Asian music videos. Its well appointed for family or small to larger dining parties. Our party of 5 fit comfortably in the booth but there are regular tables available.

The delicate…read morewontons were packed with flavorful filling and coated in a rich, aromatic chili oil that delivered the perfect balance of heat, spice, and savory depth. The sauce had just enough numbing warmth without overpowering the dish, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. The texture combination of silky wrappers and bold sauce made it an unforgettable starter. Beyond the appetizer, the restaurant offered a warm atmosphere and attentive service that made the dining experience even better. The presentation was thoughtful, portions were generous, and the flavors tasted authentic and carefully prepared. If you enjoy dishes with a little spice and a lot of flavor, the wontons in chili oil are absolutely worth ordering. I would definitely come back just for them.

When my friend's Xmas party was canceled, I started looking for a good Chinese restaurant on Xmas…read moreand found great reviews here. Glad I made a reservation via Google Assistant b/c it was a full house plus tons of people waiting (1hr) for their takeout orders. Great sign! We ordered quite a bit for 3 of us b/c we're excited to try them out. We loved them all especially the wontons in the authentic sauce as it should be (not in sesame or peanut sticky sauce), the salt/pepper chicken as how I remembered from back home, the delicious noodle soup with tender beef and tendon, and the flavorful black bean fish. The restaurant is nice and clean. They're busy but the kitchen was pretty quick. The waitress brought out the dish as it's done, not waiting to serve all dishes at once. We actually preferred this way. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. We really enjoy our dinner. It's less than 30 min for us; we will definitely return to try some Sichuan dishes.
