Was on a hunt for authentic Chinese food, particularly the fried flounder, and Chengdu didn't disappoint. The egg drop soup with minced beef (Westlake soup) was light and comforting. Enjoyed the pan-fried flounder with ginger and scallion soy sauce, Yang Chow fried rice, and Chinese broccoli. BF loved the spicy cumin lamb; it's not my favorite, but he finished it. Service was prompt and friendly despite being busy on a Saturday night.

easily the best chinese food in the area and cheng du is so popular in my house that even my toddler gets excited when we are going. so far everything we've tried has been delicious. all of the typical american chinese dishes are heavenly (general tsos's, beef and broccoli, etc.) but their pork fried rice is definitely our #1 must get dish. i also love the chinese broccoli or pea shoots (both prepared sauteed with garlic). Bright, fresh, garlicky greens make me feel less guilty about eating a fried egg roll. The interior is warm and cozy; great for large groups and sharing plates if that is your style. Most recently we got to try the soup dumpings or juicy buns and they might be my new favorite item.

Ordered food from here today. Was absolutely amazing. Everything tasted incredible. Moo shu chicken with the pancake and sauce sublime. Egg drop and wonton soup very tasty. Will definitely be ordering food from here again, can't wait to try more things on the menu.

Hands down the best Chinese food in the area. It's been highly rated for many years. The location is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall near the Willowbrook Mall. It has a good amount of seating if you are dining in. The service is quick if they are really busy. Top dishes for me are the General Tso chicken, sesame chicken, and fried rice. Portions are a good size and prices are pretty standard. Definitely stop in for lunch or dinner if you are at the Willowbrook Mall.

When I came to the restaurant in the middle of the afternoon on a Friday, there were about 15 patrons and plenty of seating available. I was greeted with a kettle filled with hot tea. The wonton soup was not the best I've had. It was very hot but did not come with noodles. The interior meat for one of the three wontons was very chewy - almost fatty. I ordered the healthy special shrimp with vegetables H4. It came out very quickly. The dish came with white rice. The brown sauce was thick - just like I love it! The meal was good and a decent size. I had to take the tails off of the shrimp, which isn't one of my more enjoyable tasks! It would be something I would order again. The meal with a soda was about $26. Not bad. Overall, it was a positive experience. I would come here again.

Cheng Du is so good that it's patronized by the Chinese people in the area, many of whom I see have posted strong opinions about whether it's Szechuan enough for them, I guess. I've never had a bad meal here, take out or dine-in. It's deeply layered flavor, whether you're ordering something spicy or not. My heavenly chicken had a garlicky brown sauce that's great with rice, and even a plain dish like tofu soup is gorgeously tinged with alliums for a delicate flavor on the palate. We were in there at 2:30p on a Saturday and at least ten other groups were inside. I'd bring anyone I knew here. I just wish it were closer to my house!

Great spot to come with family. There may be a line because it seems to be a quite popular spot but once we got seated, service was fairly quick. Everything we ordered was delicious!

Best family style in the area by far. Super friendly environment and the staff are great. The food and experience reminded me of going out for dinner as a child with my family. Totally going back here. Ordered way too much food and had leftovers for days and it was good reheated too lmao

It's been a minute since I've been at Cheng Du 23 and I was happy we came here for dinner. I was able to call and make reservations and the wait to get us seated was about 5 min. It was pretty busy when we got there so it was great to be seated in a timely manner. Here's some pros to Cheng Du: - Plenty of parking - Takes reservations - Hot green tea is complimentary and really good - Fuji Mountain Beef dish was my favorite! It came with Bok Choy which was delicious! and of course white rice on the side. - Shrimp toast as an app was tasty. - Pork Dumplings (aka Juicy Steam Buns) flavor was good Cons - I thought the salt and pepper pork chops was heavily coated with breading. It was too much for me. - The boba for bubble tea wasn't your typical tapioca balls. I wasn't a big fan. So overall service was quick and food is good. I'll definitely come back.

Came here two weeks ago to get dinner with some friends. One of the best Szechuan places in the area. Food: I ordered the Dan Dan noodles and triple pepper chicken. They were the perfect blend of spicy and flavorful. I like how even though the dishes are cooked in chili oil, they seem "leaner" with the oil compared to other places. Aesthetic: huge Chinese restaurant with standard Chinese design. Place was busy! Service: our service was very good, staying on top of everything and always asking if we needed anything.

Stopped here for a quick meal & everything was delicious! Service was good. Nice place. Enjoyed the giant fish tank. I had the wonton soup, vegetable dumplings, and Jiang Shao fish filet & it was all very good! Would definitely come back

Let me get one thing straight. Shan Shan Noodles doesn't care about this review. They don't care if…read moreyou come. Why? Because they are busy AF. They are buzzing. We went for the first time Sunday at like 3pm? Full. Take out orders flying out the door. It's a cute place. Standard strip mall aesthetic. But they do have a window where you can see them hand pulling the noodles. That's right, hand pulling the noodles which is the main attraction. The food is from the North Western part of China near Pakistan so there are some Indian influences like their Cumin lamb and pulled noodles one of their most popular dishes. But I'm getting ahead of myself. With my vegetarian wife who as usual ruins everything by insisting we order vegetarian appetizers. Scallion pancakes were delicious. No pictures because we ate them immediately. Pan fried dumpling. 9 of them. That's a big portion. And it was like 9-10 bucks? They make their own dumpling wrappers, their own dipping sauces. Dumplings were very good. You could really taste the vegetables. Focused on the quality of the ingredients. My wife had the hand pulled noodles in hot oil. Marked spicy it was American spicy. Did not blow your head off. O enjoyed them. They give you a pair of scissors. Because it's one long noodle. Do not use them on your birthday. More on that later. I had the aforementioned cumin lamb and pulled noodles. I liked it but it was overwhelmingly cumin flavored which obviously is the point of cumin lamb. I'm not saying over seasoned I'm just saying it announced itself as this is cumin lamb. Period. We also had bubble tea! How fun is that? My wife had taro which they made with non dairy milk for her. I had pomegranate with exploding bubbles. Never had those before. Also super fun. They did not explode in an American way or even a Chinese way as both countries let's face it are pretty well known for making things explode. No in a pleasant way. Waitress was delightful we had obviously a long conversation about the food and the restaurant. The scissors are for Americans who share their food. In China you would eat the noodles slurp them without cutting them because eating long noodles especially on your birthday is supposed to promote a long life. We did not learn this until after cutting my wife's noodles. It was her birthday. I will miss her but also look forward to meat based appetizers. One door closes and all that. They also own the bakery a few doors down. Very light chiffon style cakes. Not too sweet. Chocolate Oreo cake. I asked if that was very traditional. Oh how we laughed at my hilarious joke.

The dumplings were flavorful, hot, and perfectly steamed. They were definitely the highlight of our meal. Next came the beef pancake which was crunchy, chewy, had excellent flavor, but slightly heavy on the sauce. Lastly, was the braised beef noodle soup. The broth's flavor was on the mild side, whilst relying on the spice's heat to shine as the primary flavor. The beef was also mild, but especially tender. There was also a good amount of proteins in the soup and the hand pulled noodles were perfectly thick and chewy. Overall it was a great dish for a chilly night out.

Looked around at the reserved tables and they stuck us in the back corner at a table without a reserved sign. Ordered dumplings, pork friend rice and two meals, one of which was general. Started off with the wontons which were amazing! Loved both the mustard and duck sauce. Dumplings were good, presentation average. Our meals come with white rice. NO RICE was given. We ordered pork fried rice as a variation.. was super upset about ordering a meal that has white rice with it and was provided half, as what was listed on the menu wasn't provided. Almost felt robbed. Didn't bother to tell them as it was clear we weren't a priority. Pretty disappointing, given we were there to celebrate a special anniversary. Looked around the room, everyone else received rice. We wrapped up the meals and left. Had high hopes and was left with less than what we paid for and they didn't provide us with the actual full meal. Forgetting to bring rice was huge. The meals were okay. No pleased.

It's sort of Flushing very West. Often we are among the few diners who are not Asian. Food is excellent, authentic and reasonable. Yes I said reasonable. Quantities are large and often you take home leftovers for tomorrow. The kitchen is very accommodating to vegetarians, or just don't eat some food like pork and those who want less spicy food. Great dishes - I go with several mostly adventurous eaters so here goes - Cumin Lamb, Dan Dan noodles, Beef and Tripe with Chili Sauce (true confession I love tripe), Hot and Sour soup, Hunan Fried Fish with Spicy Sauce, Hunan Whole Braised Fish and Sichuan Mapo and Sichuan Fried Fish. One absolutely wonderful dish is Eggs with Tomatoes, which is sort of street food in China, as well as in many other cultures. It's simple and delicious. I've taken to making it at home using a New York Times recipe. But don't think the "regular" dishes aren't prepared with the same care and aren't as tasty. They are.
