Lake view

A nice venue with outdoor seating. I only briefly saw the inside, but it had a dark modern interior. We sat outside as they are dog friendly and allow dogs outside on the patio. The patio overlooks a lake, umbrella covered tables, so the combination made for a very comfortable beautiful experience. Staff were friendly & efficient, food was amazing. We had the Angry Dragon Roll, Jumbo Godzilla Roll, General Tso Chicken, & Hunan Crispy Chicken. We also had the Beef Skewers (not pictured) & that's what our dog ate. He couldn't give me a review, but he did eat some of it, lol. They do not have a dog specific menu. Overall everything about the experience was excellent, all of the food was delicious. We'd definitely come back if we were in the area. Grades: Angry Dragon Roll: A Jumbo Godzilla Roll: A General Tso Chicken: B+ Hunan Crispy Chicken: A

The restaurant is located right off the street by the lake. The inside is a little dark and you can see the bar and sushi bar. They also have an outdoor patio. They only served bottle water to the table. The sushi and food came out quickly. Most of the food was delicious and flavorful. The salted shrimp and scallops though was tempura base.

I feel so up and down about this place but for TLDR: good food, bottled water, BYO but cork fee, odd bathroom, SLOW service Went for a birthday celebration, reservation at 6:30 table was ready but service took a very long time and we got out at 9. Which sounds like we might've been sticking around but keep in mind - we waited the 30 minutes at our table for someone to take our drink order. Staff seems disinterested in helping tables, and could not be bothered to clear plates when necessary. The experience of having menus in the way while appetizers were served made zero sense, no one cared to take them away. Appetizer plates and the free crispy noodle paper dishes had to be stacked because no one was coming back to take them away. Also, they only offer bottled water no tap, and will charge you for it. This is not advertised or explained, even when wait staff takes your drink order. There is a cork fee of $10 per bottle, but this can be waived if you buy drinks from them. Our waiter was friendly but inattentive. 30 minutes to get water, glasses, or even an ice bucket for the wine is unacceptable. Sushi was good, but for this level of ambiance we were expecting more. Seems the other food options on the menu may be your best bet. Also, one bathroom for the entire restaurant and it was very poorly lit. Large 3 wick candle burning in there seems careless to leave unattended. There were no paper towels when I went. I will say, it was a nice birthday treat they did with ice cream and lava cake! This place, in my opinion, operates like the quality of service and food is much higher, but actually is subpar.

Winter Roll (spicy tuna, crunch, jalapeño, topped with salmon & yellowtail)

Wayne, NJ - the dishes here are very "greatest hits" of standard Americanized Chinese and Japanese food, with some random Thai thrown in - nothing innovative or authentic - but I really like eating here and have enjoyed most of the entrees I've ordered, which are better than similar fare at restaurants that offer this type of cuisine. To my surprise, the pad Thai is superb! Better than I've had in many Thai restaurants. The noodles have perfect texture, are slightly smoky and not overly sweet. I enjoyed both the beef and chicken versions. The tom kha gai soup is also great. However, the Thai basil chicken, which I asked for "extra spicy," was not basil-y, spicy or Thai flavored - but as long as you're not wedded to authenticity (as I mentioned, the food is tweaked to American palates), it still tastes pretty good. I don't normally order sushi at mixed-Asian cuisine restaurants as they could be hit or miss, but tried a couple of special rolls my friend ordered and they tasted very fresh. The setting in an awesome feature here - the lakefront location with an outdoor deck that's open in warm weather and has a tabletop fire pit. The staff are friendly and service is great, and they're sweet to children. They've thrown in freebies with our orders like complimentary dumplings, sake shots, and ring pops for our kids! The owners are very nice and have a good sense of humor. FYI that they don't offer tap water, only bottle. And it's BYOB. There is a 3% credit card charge, which I see more and more across NJ and everywhere else, especially at family businesses like this one.

It's been awhile since we've been here. They now have a liquor license with a nice outdoor bar and the patio was redone. Very nice view of Pompton Lakes. The owner Jeff is really nice ! It was my husband's birthday and he got a complimentary shot and after our dinner they came out with ice cream with a candle and sang Happy Birthday . That was such a nice surprise!! The sushi is amazing! We loved the tuna tartare. They had a big selection of rolls, Chinese food and Thai food!! Service was quick! Wishing Jeff all the best!! See you again soon!!

Food: We tried the All Good roll, Sean Sean roll, Dancing Tuna roll, and the Mini That spring rolls -- all had a great mix of flavors and were really enjoyable. Each roll offered something unique, and the combinations worked well together. However, the gyoza and smoked salmon sushi were underwhelming and not quite up to the same standard. Service: Service was decent overall, but a bit slow at times, even when the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. Staff was polite, just not especially attentive or quick. Aesthetic: The interior is beautifully done, with a clean and modern look. There's also a cool outdoor patio that overlooks Pompton Lake, adding a relaxing touch to the dining experience.

Located in the heart of Wayne, a beautiful ambiance overlooking the lake! Its BYOB and a good date night spot or group setting for sushi, thai or chinese cuisine. Drinks are made strong and service is quick.

Came here for dinner with friends on Friday night and they were so busy! They have a mix of Chinese and Japanese food so you have plenty of options. We got sushi and fried rice and both were delicious

I just love this place! The food is exceptional and the staff is great. They even have a bar inside now and the drinks are delicious! Love the ambiance inside and out! The sushi is so fresh and the Chinese dishes never disappoint. They also have the best fried rice in Jersey in my opinion!! The beef, duck, dumplings, rolls, scallops, eggplant. Can't say enough! Highly recommend!!

Happy Holiday Roll King Kong

I've been following Double Ai on Instagram for a while now and finally got to go last night! I didn't make a reservation so had to wait for outdoor seating but the wait was short and you can hang on the couches near the fire pit. We got the steamed pork dumplings and kani salad (SO good) to start. We shared the King Kong and Happy Holiday rolls. The King Kong roll was excellent. Heads up this place is byob. They charge you for water. Idk why some places do that but I get that bottles are more costly than tap. I'd be perfectly fine drinking tap if it were an option.

You can tell the place is designed with love and care, and the food is thoughtfully prepared. Note that the space is relatively small. There are two tables inside pretty close together and two tables outside, each with two or so chairs. A cool place for a relatively quick dine-in experience but not ideal for any conversation/meeting meant to be too private or intimate. I feel like this is largely designed for takeout but dine-in is totally doable and comfortable if that's what you're looking for. When I went with my friend, only the two of us were dining in so it was perfectly fine. The person taking our order was really friendly and helped clean our table and refill our water quickly. I felt really welcome and taken care of. Food: Yummy and a fair price! They have a bunch of drink options and I saw they had canned bubble tea, which I hadn't seen before. They also had great. summer specials. We ordered: Ka Nom Jeeb (steamed chicken & shrimp dumplings) - well-cooked, great mouth feel, and the shredded carrots and vinaigrette pair super well with the dumplings! felt fresh Taro Fritters - SO YUM. would definitely order again. They were crispy on the outside and warm. Paired really well with their peanut sauce. My favorite thing I ordered! Duck Gra Prow Grob (crispy roasted duck in basil sauce) - crispy and I would order another side or dish of vegetables, but delicious nonetheless. It's duck so it's more expensive than other menu items, but it's duck so what can ya expect? Mango sticky rice - if you love mango, you'll love this. It's hard to go wrong when your sauce is condensed milk. great way to finish off our meal!! I split everything but the duck entree with someone else so in total, I paid 39.45 without tip which is not cheap for one person, but also considering how much (two appetizers, an entree, and a dessert) and what I ordered it's not bad at all. I was super full by the end and took home leftovers. I'm definitely coming back! Pro tip: check their instagram for food pics

Tom Yum was very good, very spicy and sour, but rode the line of too salty in a way I actually quite enjoyed. It also did have more shrimp than I usually get at other spots, which explains the price. Thai iced tea was not my favorite I've had -- it was not as rich as I typically enjoy, but still tasty. The red curry was solid, with a nice creeping heat at the medium spice level. I like that it included eggplant. It is not life-changing but it is solidly above-average and quite good, and I would certainly enjoy coming back when in the area. Service was fantastic. Ambiance is veryyyy cute, warm, and clean. I liked the seasonal touches.

The place was empty we were seated in between two parties on the left that were loud. My husband and I worked all week needed to relax unwind not happening now. Our food now comes placed on the table he quick leaves. Excuse me sir you're leaving I have NO utensils oh ok I'll get them. The girl took my order the guy came out with it. My chicken in the Pad Thai was over cooked not happy. Next I understand it is later in the evening BUT the girl starts sweeping the floor pulling out the chairs scraping the floor making noise. I have to say in a retail store we do not sweep or vacuum when customers are present. Shame on you, dust goes up in the air etc. restaurants need to know it is a luxury to go out and eat not a necessity. Restaurants complain about business being slow. Think about why a customer is visiting your establishment what is your culture how is your environment what type of experience are you creating for your customer will they be coming back? This was not my first time at the restaurant I do not know if I will be back from the moment I entered and sat I was unhappy. In today's environment we must think about how we are making our customer feel, you want them back.
