If you're looking for a chill, casual dining spot with good vibes and even better food, Teriyaki Bowl is where it's at. The atmosphere is super inviting, with cute decor and friendly service that makes you feel right at home. The food? Fresh and absolutely delicious. I went with the chicken bowl, which was packed with flavor. The only thing I'd tweak is the sauce--there was a bit too much for my taste, so next time I'll ask for it on the side. My husband tried the salmon teriyaki and was obsessed. The portion was solid, and for the price, totally worth it. Oh, and do not skip the passion fruit green tea! It's insanely refreshing and the perfect balance of sweet and fruity. Overall, Teriyaki Bowl is a must-try. Great food, good prices, and a vibe that makes you want to come back. Highly recommend!

Mid sized casual Japanese/Vietnamese spot that has the absolute best pho! i had the beef combo which has brisket, rib eye, and beef meatballs, paired with fresh bean sprouts, a squeeze of line and sriracha was just so comforting in the cold weather! First time trying a sushi burrito, tried the dragon roll with brown rice and it was just perfection! Spicy tuna, avo, eel and mango it just worked well together! The owners are very warm welcoming people! Meticulously kept! I recommend! . Portions are hearty!

We stopped in for a couple of bubble teas and got an order of pork chashu bun. We ended up going with the strawberry fruit tea and the Thai tea. Both were refreshing and had a ton of popping boba in them, which we enjoyed. The pork buns were also flavorful and had a decent amount of meat in them.

My personal favorite is the Ten Ingredient Noodle Soup, which always manages to fill me up. I also recently tried the General tso chicken which was coated in a delicious sauce. Overall a great family run business with kind owners, tasty eats, and a beautiful view.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had…read more Let me start by saying this is no longer a BYOB restaurant, despite giving every impression that it still is. There is no clear notice that they now have a liquor license, yet they charge a $10 corkage fee per bottle--or require one drink per person to waive the fee. This feels misleading from the start. After a long and frustrating discussion with our waitress--who couldn't clearly explain the policy--a man (who never identified himself as a manager or in any official role) came over. Even after more back-and-forth, the policy remained unclear until we were told definitively: one drink per person to waive the cork fee. By that point, we had already purchased a drink. We decided to stay, as we've dined here many times before without issues. Unfortunately, things only got worse. We specifically asked for our appetizers and entrees to be timed separately. Instead, our main courses arrived while we were still halfway through our appetizers. Then came the biggest issue: the beef teriyaki. The meat was inedible--extremely undercooked, with a bloody taste and raw interior. We immediately stopped eating and called the waitress over. She told us, quite confidently, that it was filet mignon. It absolutely was not. We asked to speak again with the same gentleman. When questioned, he immediately contradicted her and said it was not filet mignon--but then admitted he didn't know what cut of meat it actually was. He went to the kitchen and came back still unable to identify it, only saying it was "beef." At that point, offering us ice cream as compensation felt almost insulting. We asked for the dish to be removed from the bill. Instead, the waitress returned with three cups of vanilla ice cream--and the charge for the dish was still on the bill. We paid and left, including a 20% tip for the waitress, as the issues seemed more systemic than entirely her fault. Be advised: this is not a BYOB restaurant anymore, and based on this experience, I would strongly recommend proceeding with caution.

The other people at the table were very friendly and we enjoyed their company. Naturally we all ordered hibachi. I had the filet and scallops. I order any steak I get extremely rare and I was a bit nervous but the chef cooked it perfectly. It was delicious. Sandra had the steak and duck. Also cooked perfectly and delicious. We didn't order any appetizers because the meal comes with plenty of food. We paid extra for the fried rice and glad we did. The noodles were delicious also. The show the chef puts on is fun and keeps you laughing. Overall an excellent night with delicious food. We will definitely be back. Enjoy

***2 1/2 stars***…read more I've driven past this place on 23 a gazillion times, and...there's a reason it's never occurred to me before now to stop in. It honestly looks pretty shady/decrepit (though looks CAN be deceiving) and has an equally suspect hotel next to it that could easily find itself the centerpiece of a true crime doc. But it WAS open on Jan 1, we needed a lunch spot after the First of the Year hike, and one chum in particular had a hibachi hankering. So off we went. I'm trying to be as diplomatic as I can, but it's honestly in massive need of upgrades throughout the establishment. Beyond the outdated decor (the bar was ROUGH looking), it smelled like cleaning products in most areas, and that was pretty obviously because they decided to do their cleaning during normal business hours. There were literal buckets and bottles of bleach on the floor. When my chum and I went to use the restroom shortly after arriving, we couldn't immediately go in - the bathroom was temporarily shuttered for cleaning, despite the fact that the restaurant had opened within the hour. That flat-out shouldn't happen. I don't know if the staffer in charge was late but this is basic upkeep that should be done before or after customers are on the premises. That's all to say the vibes aren't great, and some of that is easily fixable. I can't say we really built up an appetite navigating a bike path for an hour in the snow and ice, but we did get two apps to split - the chicken katsu at my request, and rock shrimp. The rock shrimp were very good; decent portion/large shrimp, but the katsu was a miss. This is the second time I've been burned by this particular dish, I think because I keep deciding it's going to be chicken katsu curry but without the curry it's a very, very dry, flavorless item. Both times this has happened, the chicken katsu was accompanied by a watery tonkatsu sauce that was overly sweet and not great. But again, this isn't the first time this has happened so this may not be an issue specific to Izumi - maybe this is just a crappy app? Anyway. If you're katsu curious, I would recommend only ordering it in the context of the curry. Despite initially eyeing up the chicken katsu option on the lunch menu (which I was told wasn't applicable for a holiday), I succumbed to peer pressure and joined the hibachi bandwagon, opting for the chicken. A few chums got steak, and I think at least one got shrimp. Honestly, the chicken is a miss and I'd avoid it if you can. It's super dry (at least they're consistent in that regard with the poultry), and the teriyaki they're using for it is super salty. Just not a good dish. I tried the steak, which was significantly better, as was the shrimp, which was my favorite. Very tasty. The star of the hibachi meal though was the fried rice and the noodles. I initially asked for white rice, thinking there'd be a ton of shizzle in the fried rice (like onions, peppers, etc.) but it was literally just rice and egg from what I could tell. The noodles were delicious and widely acclaimed in our party. So ultimately uneven but the hibachi had some highlights. I'd say the service was pretty decent. A lot of the hibachi experience comes with a bit of showmanship from the chef, by definition. I haven't been to a ton of hibachi places but the fellow we had was pleasant and...skilled at hurling zucchini into people's mouths? I guess that's an endorsement? We had tons of food and I don't recall any complaints about the meat prep or anything involving the actual cooking. I feel like I've seen "flashier" performances but it's certainly not something I care a ton about - I'm in it for the food and can watch an exciting portrayal on the Criterion Channel from the comfort of my home. Honestly, this would have been a neutral or slightly positive experience if the fumes from the cleaning products nearby weren't a constant presence; it was like eating a meal in the hall of a hospital wing. I think you can do quite a bit better than this place, for your tastebuds and sinuses.

Pho-king delicious…read more It was one of the coldest days of the year and we were craving a comforting bowl of pho (rice noodle soup) to warm ourselves up. We visited Vietnam Pho in Woodland Park, located on Rt 46. It's in a business complex so there's plenty of parking. It's a casual, cozy, and family-owned restaurant with a spacious seating area. The staff is welcoming and attentive. The menu offers all of the Vietnamese classics you're craving - steaming bowls of pho, vermicelli noodles topped with fresh vegetables, crispy banh mi sandwiches, stir-fries, and a variety of grilled meats like lemongrass pork and chicken. And if you're a boba lover, they even have bubble tea. Prices are reasonable, but here's a big tip: You get a 10% discount when you pay with cash. There's an ATM inside. There were a few hits and misses with our order, but overall we left feeling satisfied with our meal. The misses: *Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Condensed Milk ($5.95) - This was much sweeter and thicker than I expected! It tasted more like a dessert drink than an iced coffee. The condensed milk's sweetness overpowered the coffee flavor. I have a big sweet tooth, so I still enjoyed it. But if you're sensitive to sugar, you might want to skip this or ask for less milk. *Fresh Shrimp/Summer Rolls with poached shrimp, vermicelli, & peanut sauce ($7.95) - Not a fan. The rolls were bland and mostly just filled with vermicelli noodles. The peanut sauce was a let down. The flavors were off and it had a watery consistency. It barely tasted like peanuts. I don't know if they used too much vinegar or sugar, but either way... the ingredients were completely unbalanced. Now for the hits... We came for the STAR DISH: PHO! Every order comes with rice noodles, beef broth, white onions, scallions, and cilantro with a side of bean sprouts, lime, basil, and jalapeno peppers. We ordered: *Pork Chop Pho ($16.95) - I absolutely loved the lemongrass marinade (made with lemongrass, fish sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, & shallots)! The meat was juicy, sweet, and savory. I could tell the chef grilled it perfectly because of the smoky charred edges. *Rare Beef & Well Done Brisket Pho ($14.95 size small) - They did not skimp out on the protein here! The beef cuts were large, tender, and flavorful! The broth was the heart of the pho - aromatic, warm, and rich! The spices (cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, and coriander) made it taste even better. I always enjoy adding hot chili and hoisin sauce for that extra heat and sweetness. The noodles were silky smooth and soaked up all that beefy broth. Yum, yum! And you can't forget about loading up on the garnishes to add a satisfying crunch and more flavor in every slurp! Pho was the perfect comfort food on the coldest day of the year~
