Underwhelmed in an understatement. I literally thought I was delivered the wrong order.. Beef with broccoli, sure. Chicken chow mein.. where?? Since when is it RICE? I don't understand. Had I looked at the photos, I would NEVER have ordered it. As it is, I guess I really can't blame anyone but myself. Having to add two packets of soy sauce to beef and broccoli for flavor makes very little sense to me. This is not the first time I've been thoroughly disappointed in chinese cuisine in NJ. I am a regular takeout customer. Best soups I have had. Hot and sour soup is flavorful and lots of mushrooms. The hot and sour and eggdrop wonton soups are rich in flavor and are not artificially thickened. No jello molds when stored in the frig. like some other places. The wontons are tinged with. Extra flavor too. The szechuan wonton appetizer is great, with a moderately spicy peanut sauce, I am good for two containers a week of just those babies. More reviews to follow. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I was excited to try a new place that had vegetarian options for me but the food was entirely inedible. The vegetable orange chicken was as stale as a brick I couldn't even bite into it with my teeth. My sister's (actual) chicken was so undercooked and slimy that she couldn't even eat it, and started dry heaving after one bite. For crying out loud the chicken was still clucking. And don't even get me started on the vegetable fried rice... like how can you mess up RICE?! QUALITY of food remains high, but they still fail to deliver on instructions/notes in the ordering process. My order of steamed chicken & vegetables offered an option of brown or garlic sauce on side. The sauce was missing, from the order. There was also an option for utensils. First, We ordered delivery and the wait was over an hour. Ok, I should've asked when I ordered, my problem. Next, every dish we ordered was greasy. Way way too much grease. The chicken, beef and shrimp dishes we ordered also were swimming in sauces. But the mortal sin was this: We all got violently ill. In the middle of the night. I'm talking about food poisoning. I realize the prices of everything including takeout food have gone up & i get it....however, i was so disappointed when i ordered a large beef & broccoli last week. The price went up to around $13.00, but the black rectangular "to go" container got significantly smaller too!! Thats a deal breaker for me. The food is actually good, but I have to give one star and warn everyone never to order from here. We ordered delivery and the driver accidentally gave us an extra order of sushi. We started eating our own ordered food and completely forgot about the extra sushi order. 30 minutes later I got a phone call from the delivery driver saying he needs to come pick up the extra order from our house, for a delivery in Wayne. How do you know what I did or didn't do to that plate in the 30 minutes?? I've worked in four restaurants and you NEVER take back an incorrectly delivered plate of food and REdeliver it to someone else! Imagine knowing your "fresh seafood" delivery was actually at someone else's house for 30 minutes, luckily I am clean but who knows where your food was before it arrived to your house. Ordered the $21 bento box and its the lowest quality meals I've gotten from this place. The whole thing was packed on one side of the container, and the "sushi" was completely buried in hot rice which cooked the raw fish before it got to me. The wasabi was also just thrown in this mess of mostly rice and my fiancé got a huge bite of rice covered wasabi.. We called to let them know that our raw fish came half cooked and the whole dish was a mess and they just kept telling us that it is intentional and how bento boxes are supposed to be... no, bento boxes are handled with care and neatly separated in a slotted box, not thrown around the back seat of a car so all the hot food cooks the raw food. I usually love this place, however the customer support here was absolutely atrocious and my sushi was half cooked and awful read more

If it was possible to give 10 stars, I would! Asian1 has definitely set the bar when it comes to Asian cuisine. Although it sounds unbelievable, they even top Double Ai! It just goes to show you; you can dress up a restaurant in fancy linen, tables and a fantasy atmosphere; but you can't fake the passion and expertise of cooking when it comes to meals. So let's start with my favorite appetizer. Asian1 has wonderful soups. My suggestion, just don't have the usual wonton soup or egg drop soup. You'll be doing yourself a disservice. The chef specializes in many udon, miso, spicy, seafood and ramen soups. Sushi and Sashimi is always fresh, flavorful and the portions are generous! If you've got your heart set on a more Thai flavor, they even have many curry dishes and pineapple fried rice! For those who are Vegetarians or just people looking to stay healthy, Asian1 aims to please. They offer many vegetarian and GLUTEN free selections! They are very conscientious and fair, they do a great job on soups and sushi, and like​ all Chinese​ places I generally ask them to cut back on sauce on other dishes, and don't overcook vegetables. They have generally high-quality ingredients and generous portions. Unlike other such takeouts, they do not 'look down' on their customers as strictly money. They have Pompton Lakes college students and locals doing their driving and even taking orders by phone. They don't put a wall between them and customers, so they don't try to cut corners on you as a customer. They respect you and give you good value for the money. However, unfortunately they follow the too-common practice of using a cheap type of beef, marinating it, and thinking it's ok. I prefer standard beef, but I usually tolerate the soft-stuff for now-- my only 'issue'. But you won't do any better in anyplace nearby. read more

This place has the WORST customer service ever!!! I walked in to place an order which came to $9.95. They would not let me use a credit card because it was under $10.00 (really)!! I ended up ording fried dumplings to have the order over their price limit on credit card orders. The total came to $15.74. They have coupons on their menus that if you order over $15.00 you receive a free egg roll. I asked for the free egg roll and he angrily told me that it is under $15.00 before tax. Holy Shit! The topper was when the order came out I asked for crunchy noodles which are normally included and he made me pay for them and then what happened was crazy.
