Food was solid, we particularly enjoyed the white meat sesame chicken. It traveled well and didn't get too soggy. Fried rice was not dry like other places tend to be. The lo mein was ok but not enough vegetables to justify the price. I jazzed it up with some chili oil. This will be our new go-to. read more

Shrimp roll and egg roll soft, thick and lightly filled ... not tasty either. These Chinese places master the way to way over bread meat so the meat is less but it looks big. White meat General Tso Chicken. Bite into it, it's like shredded cardboard. White meat, really. I don't think so. The pork fried rice literally had three pin point pieces of pork, not exaggerating! I hadn't ordered Chinese takeout in years. I decided that I was going to try Hi King Kitchen finally based on reviews and such. I thought the food was awe full! The dumplings had thick dough and a weird pork filling with a red color inside, gross. The egg roll had more wonton wrappers than filling that was tasteless and non existent. General T chicken wasn't spicy nor was the chicken decent sized. A complete waste of money and truthfully I'm never having Chinese food again. read more

I have been ordering food from this restaurant for months and have been very happy with the preparation, and flavor. But unfortunately, my last order was disappointing. In particular, the house special lo mein. While eating it I found that much of the shrimp in the dish was soft and mushy and it seems like the shrimp was just old and no longer good yet it was put in my dish. Additionally, I ordered boneless spare ribs and what I received were regular spare ribs with a bone which was very disappointing. I'll give them one more chance but if this is what ends up happening I guess I'll have to find another Chinese restaurant read more

The New Ho king Kitchen is the best Chinese restaurant for miles around. The food is great, the service is quick and friendly. It is primarily a take out restaurant so the ambiance centers around friendly, quick service. Two things to note are they provided an insulated bag for our order AND they make their own hand made duck s sauce. If you live anywhere within ten miles of their location in Pompton Lakes - try this restaurant. You won't be disappointed. read more

Very disappointed in New Ho. It seems that no matter where I go for lo mein there was always a problem with the vegetables. The menu should just say vegetable not vegetables. Whenever I order any kind of lo mein I always asked for extra vegetables so this time I just ordered vegetable lo mein with extra vegetables as you can see from the photo the amount of vegetables I received I actually ate two small pieces of broccoli one medium-size one and a few slices of carrots no onions no peppers no baby corn no bok choy no flavor no nothing. I would hate to see what the vegetable looks like with no extra vegetables. Eggrolls are absolutely terrible the wrap is way too thick and they're only filled with that weird lettuce read more

Decent chinese food. Affordable lunch specials. Got the Schezuan beef and it was alright. If I remember it right from their menu, there was a spicy symbol next to this item but it wasn't spicy at all when I had it. Same thing for their hot and sour soup, It was definitely hot but not sour at all. The lady also told me that food should be ready for pick up in 15 minutes, it definitely took them 30 minutes to get my order. I still want to give them 4 stars for offering lunch specials on a Saturday. read more

Have eaten take out a few times and it's like any other Chinese takeout but this time the sesame chicken was overcooked and the sauce is too dark. we ate it but not great. The soup is fine, the lomein is Ok as are the egg rolls. Make sure you ask for soy and duck sauce because they don't put any in the bag and they only give you one cookie. Enough food for 2/3 people but only one cookie, REALLY!!! Put more cookies in the bag please, a fight broke out for the ONE cookie. read more

Best Wonton and hot and sour soup. The wontons are folded properly and cooked just a little Al de the so they don't fall apart or are mushy. I enjoy getting wonton and hot and sour and putting the wontons into the hot and sour. Hi King has great lomein and boneless spareribs. Not to sweet and not too fatty. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken Combination (Spicy) First and foremost the entree was not spicy at all. Not even a little. Now for the most disappointing part. The consistency of the chicken was almost non existent. About four out of every five pieces were just bread or starch. It was hard to tell but they definitely were not chicken. This place is very busy -- because both food and service are amazing. The best sesame noodles we've ever had -- hands down. With sprouts and carrots and just an amazing unique sauce. We should have ordered more than one order. Dumplings are sooooo very much good. BEST BEST BEST Chinese food you can find! Everything just tastes so freshly made here, and the staff is great. The egg rolls and cheese wontons are perfectly fried to a crisp without being too greasy. I ALWAYS order their General Tso's Bean Curd. Now I'm not a vegetarian, but this dish is to die for! I don't know how they prepare that tofu, but it's so crispy and light, yet meaty enough to feel like you're eating chicken. If you've had a bad experience with tofu (and just about everyone has), please give tofu another try with this dish. You won't regret it. They also serve brown rice, which they prepare perfectly. The chicken and beef dishes are also great. The kitchen is right behind the counter and the whole place is wide open so you can actually watch them cook, which I love. My wife and I ordered take out from here on Friday night (11 Dec) and I ordered the Dragon and Phoenix and her Wonton Soup and Scallion Pancakes. For $20.00, not too bad. They also deliver, but not sure how far they go.
