I truly wanted to like this restaurant but unfortunately almost everything we tried fell short of expectations and lacked authenticity. PORK BUNS: a bizarre sort of Asian fusion concoction, with a flabby pork slice wedged with coleslaw and topped with a thousand island-like dressing?? Only the bun was correct. TONKOTSU RAMEN: a ramen soup is defined by its broth, and this here was a very bland broth with no depth or flavor. Nothing as a rich and earthy tonkotsu broth should be. The shoyu egg was yum though. SOON TOFU: Soondubu is supposed to be made with soft tofu per its namesake, not with firm cubes as in this iteration. I also didn't understand the broth which is some over-salted soy flavored soup with a random assortment of vegetables, not the kind of broth normally found in soondubu. This place was a complete let down when it comes to ramen and bulgogi. As others have stated this places lacked flavor and depth in their food, I would have been better off spending my money elsewhere. The ramen : we got two and both were the worse we have had. Had no flavor. Packed up so much onions and it couldn't even be finished by how awful it was. The bulgogi : Man this one was sad, I was in the mood for a good one coming from NY. But this was beyond bad and should be taken off the menu. First off no flavor not one bit, I am no cook and this meat tasted like I could season it better! Second the sides were bad and tasted stale. When you put the directions the parking lot is on the side of the restaurant across the street ,in front of the domino's. Though it was a little rustic inside and its very small, it's not fancy whatsoever. I'm picking up so hopefully the reviews about the food are on point! I walked in and the young cashier girl asked me if she could help me right away. My order was already at the register. Inside the restaurant there were 2 tables sat. Not busy at all. So pick up was in and out! Well...I got home and unpacked my order. I the packaging was great you'll see the picture below. But the edamame caught my eye, it wasn't a bright green. Then the pork buns caught my eye sauce was everywhere, the broth looked good and so did the add ins. I started with pork buns the sauce usually put on top was a little too much and it made it a messy eat. The taste was good. Then I went for the edamame....this is what I was looking forward to nibbling on. It had an off color than what edamame usually looks like. I took the 1st bite and it wasn't what I expected. Felt like it was passed its time and when they steamed it , it became squishy. So sadly I pushed it away. Now I figured I'd try the Ramen. I ordered the Tonkotsu with Pork chashu and thin ramen noodles. The broth and add ins were good, but a bit bland. The Ajitama egg gave it a small punch of flavor. There was white onion in it which out of all the Ramen experiences this was the 1st one I ate with white onion. The description said it would have sauteed kombu ....I looked for it there was none and kombu is dark soooo you'd see it right away. All in all it was an ok experience. I had just gotten out of work and was really excited for Japanese today but i guess it was not meant for me today. I do recommend this restaurant if you are a beginner in exploring into Japanese ramen, and see what it's about. The flavors are mild and wont intimidate. Surprising is the varied menu, from JapNeze & Korean appetizers, to Japanese & Korean entrees. . .as well as Poké bowls! Being a fan of Korean food, I ordered the tteok booking, an appy of thin, small rice cakes (about the size if your pinky) in a spicy saymuce. The rice cakes were good, but the sauce tasted very commercial and overly sweet. My other choice was spicy Kirean noodles which I found a bit gummy and with the identical sauce used with the appetizer. There is no ambiance to speak of. Lots if anime-relsted doodads and a band of Japanese writing (which I determined was their menu) on poorly done characters. Despite the disappointments, I'm determined to have their ramen. Took a trip to Mr. Ramen to satisfy a late-night (aka 9:30ish lol) ramen craving because no other options in the area were open. We both got the tonkatsu ramen and Thai iced tea bubble tea. We originally asked for water thinking we'd get tap water, but they only provide bottled water at this time. Unfortunately, the ramen broth had no flavor and neither did the pork. Even a good sear on the pork would've made it tastier. Our bowls were inconsistent too. My boyfriend got 2 small cobs of corn in his broth and I only got a few kernels as pictured. The Thai iced tea was good momentarily until the ice started watering it down. If you come here and order bubble tea, make sure to ask for no ice or less ice to prevent this from happening. Parking was limited on the side of the building in the lot, but since we went late, we had no issues. On the bright side, our waitress was really nice and the interior of the restaurant was pretty clean. There are way better ramen spots nearby and if my craving arises again, I'll go elsewhere even if it means waiting until the next day when a better spot is open. read more

Love coming to Mr. Ramen when I am craving ramen but don't want to drive super far to get it. My go-to menu item would definitely be the Pork Tonkatsu ramen. The ramen is flavorful, broth is rich, pork is juicy & tender. You also get a nice portion size for the price. Pre-COVID, I usually do indoor dining but during this pandemic, I've done take-out. They do a great job on packaging the takeout orders, nothing leaked on my way home. They are taking safety measures by limiting the indoor dining capacity (by removing tables and making sure there is adequate space). Staff is very nice, the employee kept apologizing that my order wasn't ready by the time I got there. I'm reading some of the reviews here and I'm just taken aback by some of the negative comments. Restaurants are trying to do their best during this difficult time, what is an additional 10-15 minutes wait going to do to you? You're not going to die of starvation, please be a little more patient and understanding. Look on the bright side, if its not ready by the time you get there, at least you know your food is going to be super hot and fresh when you finally get to eat it. I highly recommend Mr. Ramen to anyone in the area (its the perfect meal for any cold/rainy day). Just a note, they also have a parking lot on the side which is always a plus. read more

I don't know how to start this review. I really wanted the food to be good but it was meh. The tankatsu ramen was bland and had little to no flavor. The beef in the ramen was dry and left me feeling a little parched. Therefore I asked for some water which was served to me in a metal wine glass that gave the water a metallic taste and smell. The miso soup should be listed as brown water on the menu. On the bright side the server was really nice and gave us a good experience. We have been several times and it was always decent, and consistent, nothing fancy but okay. Went today for lunch and it is definitely different and unfortunately not in a good way. I order the Hawaiian Poke bowl with Mango (which I have enjoyed in the past). The mango wasn't, it was not ripe on any level, why even put it in? Something felt off about the entire meal. Was hoping to find a good ramen spot for lunch to add to my regular cycle but unfortunately this place won't be it. I got the tonkotsu ramen with extra chasu pork. The broth was the best part of the bowl, but everything else was well below average. The noodles were over cooked and mushy. The vegetable toppings were not good. Just a bunch of scallions, mushrooms and a piece of corn thrown into the bowl. The pork was all over the place. Some of it was cooked pretty well a lot of the pieces were dry and did not taste good at all. The "marinated" egg did not seem to have much attention paid to it, and it just half of a normal hard boiled egg. They have a very small parking lot on the side of the building. Dumplings were fried (I usually prefer steamed), but light and very tasty and was given a nice amount of sesame seeded soy sauce. Friend ordered vegetable spring rolls, but only got a small amount. Soda is served in the can, but very cold (I'll take this over any place that lies to your face and gives you RC Cola under the guise of Coke). 2 booths and 3 tables in total, what sounds like Katamari music on the speakers. The quantity was just right but the flavor was simply lacking. As ramen is usually a saltier dish, this was all I tasted. There was no depth of flavor. I was surprised. Daughter had the Katsu pork which looked dry but she said it was very tasty. Had the taro bubble tea which the flavor was not the usual taro. Again, really off. Decently priced for a decent meal. It's important to understand that my wife and I are haute cuisine and unaltered hole in the wall ethnic cuisine gourmets. Without any intention of sounding snobby, she's a chef and I come from a family of gourmets and have worked in upscale dining for a long time. That being said, we're not picky. We just expect decent quality food which this place has, but is held down even further by other issues. Presentations aside, the food here is ok, depending on what it is. There are several issues with this place. Mainly... that the most important thing is not completely there. The ramen. If your name says ramen on the title it should be the star on your menu. It isn't. The ramen was rather bland, lacked several ingredients that are a staple in most above average ramen places. Real pork belly charsiu is replaced with a rather bland and uninspiring non fatty piece of pork. Acceptable, but it lacks the signature fatty flavor. Seaweed is completely absent, no enoki mushrooms, no classic chili oil (oil has no chili at all), and very very little shoyu. As a result the broth is very light and without much flavor. The egg was barely marinated in mirrin, etc and was slightly overcooked. This creates an acceptable ramen meal, but don't expect anything close to the real Asian thing if you're used to that. Two stars for the ramen. The poke Hawaiian bowl we ordered on the other hand was properly dressed, fish and ingredients were fresh and above average. We were surprised about the discrepancy between the star menu and the afterthought. Four stars for the bowl. Rice cakes (Tteokbokki) we ordered was pretty ok. Three stars. Service was adequate, although slower than average. We felt bad for the server/cashier/runner only by herself handling online orders, online app drivers and the seven + people at the place. She did a magnificent job considering things. The establishment is well themed, but nothing crazy which is on par of other casual asian restaurants. This is generally the least of our concerns considering the food is fairly cheap. If you're itching for just brilliant real Asian ramen, this may not be the place for you. But if you're down to try other parts of the menu we can say they're overall better. read more

We've been eating at Mr. Ramen since 2018. Pretty sad to say that the quality of the food has steadily declined in the past 4 years, not withstanding our delivery tonight. We ordered at ~5:20, estimated delivery ~6:30; no problem. Lukewarm food didn't arrive to our door until 7pm. Restaurant only apologized for the delay and did not offer any remedies for the issue. Not impressed and will be taking a break from this restaurant for a while until things improve. read more
