I'm not a huge fan of NJ food but Anthony Franco's is one of my exceptions. When you walk in it looks like your typical pizza parlor with some seating off to the side, and there's a party room in the back. I was there for an event and got to sample their delicious food including eggplant rollatini, calamari, and more. And let's not forget the yummy tri-colored pizza - perfect in every way! 11/14/2025 Always looking for great pizza. Found a great place 'close' a few weeks ago, but didn't want to travel so far, so we ordered 'take out' from AF. I wonder about the 3.5 rating because we thought the pizza was just about as good as it gets. I ordered our pie 1/2 plain, 1/2 pepperoni... very thin and crispy... along with a side of mussels marinara. Ok, the mussels had a little sand (very little) but were plump with a very tasty marinara sauce. The pie was very thin and crispy as I had ordered. Really, a great pie that I would happily order again. Service, both on the phone ordering... and when picked up was very friendly. Might have to stop in and sit next time... It is a BYO. read more

In the area, two places I recommend for pizza: Wayne Ale House for Chicago-style bar pie and here, Anthony Franco's for Sicilian, pan crust and NY style/thin crust pizza (very little or no flop even after driving home). If looking for Neapolitan pizza, you would need to venture north, out to nearby Pazza in Franklin Lakes. AF also makes great sandwiches, pasta and other Italian-American dishes. They recently added wonderful burgers to the menu; Highly recommend the American cheeseburger and Swiss mushroom burger. Even with all the inflation, their prices are pretty reasonable, in my opinion, and they are very generous with the portions. One main dish feeds two people easily. Only criticism (minor) - Their garlic knots need more garlic and oil. Recommend ordering online for pick up. After certain number of orders, you get $10 off your next order. So we started the year off thinking we had found our go to pizza place in town and then here comes Anthony Franco the last month or so totally surprising us with its light and airy pizza... and is it just me or does the crust have a little sweetness to it, too? Whatever they're doing, I'm loving it, their pizza is top-notch. Cannot wait to try some other pies as well.. the buff chicken and chicken/bacon/ranch both looked especially good last time I picked up. Hubs has also been trying wings from various pizza shops across town and commented that their wings were some of the best he's had so far. Last visit we ordered the boneless and I have zero complaints about them. Nicely breaded, fried up and sauced just the right amount. I do, however, have some minor complaints with the garlic knots. Aw man, I love garlic knots, but unfortunately, Anthony Franco's are just not worthy of my love. I found them smaller than others, and just not buttery/olive oily/parmesean-y and garlicky enough. And while we've only ever ordered pizza to go, I have been inside the restaurant to order/wait and it is such a vibe. Very old school, a little kitch, and 100% reminds me of my great aunt and uncle's kitchen with it's fresco paintings.. it's just missing a bowl of ceramic fruits. :-P read more

Nice big place in a shopping center. We entered around opening time and there already about a dozen or more specialty pizzas behind glass waiting to be ordered. We opted for a couple of regular pizzas. Sauce and cheese were good. Crust could have been crispier but sometimes that's tough when you are taking it home in a box. Pizza here is good (as a pizzeria should be). They have a lot of variations of toppings. I love their tuna salad, it's always packed with tuna and not stiffed with tuna. However, one item on the menu that needs a re-evaluation is the wings. They used to be so breaded and crispy and recently they switched to having wings that are basically skin only, it's not as good. The breaded wings that are actually breaded give that enjoyment of biting into it & feeling like you actually having a wing. These wings feel like you just sucked the skin with no meat, that's how meatless it is. If you go, I'd stick with the pizza. read more

We called ahead before placing a pickup order to ask what specialty slices were available. Among the options listed were penne vodka and eggplant rollatini slices--so that's what I ordered. But when we picked up the food just 10 minutes later, they somehow had already "run out" of the eggplant slice. Instead of telling us that, they slapped some eggplant, ricotta, and globs of sauce onto a plain slice like it was some lazy, last-minute substitute. It was greasy, floppy, falling apart--and absolutely disgusting. I've had the actual eggplant rollatini slice from here before, and this wasn't even close. When we called to say the slice wasn't what we ordered, they casually admitted they had run out of it. No apology. No heads-up. Nothing. If they had just said something at pickup, I would've chosen something else--like a second penne vodka slice, which they still had in the case at that very moment. But instead of making it right, they claimed they had none left and refused to do anything about it. That's horrible customer service. Your staff messed up, not me--and the way you handled it showed how little you value your customers. We even offered a few simple ways they could fix it, and they still refused--knowing full well I'd be writing this review. They also refused to let us speak to the manager about it. You served me sloppy food I didn't order, then doubled down instead of making it right. Disgusting food and disgusting service tonight. read more

First off the food here is great. I have ZERO issues with the food. My issue is with the delivery. They must be trying something new the past couple months. 2 weeks ago I ordered a pizza it took 2 hours to get here. I live 10 minutes away!!! Last night about 5 pm I tried again. It took an hour and a half. When you call you always get the standard response "it's on its way" If you are to busy to deliver in a reasonable amount of time you should call your customers and tell them. I drove straight to Anthony's from the Newark airport, EWR, because it was close to my hotel. I couldn't tell if I was to order at the counter or just sit down and someone would take my order, so I headed to the restroom to relieve myself and wash my hands expecting to eat some delicious pizza. Paper towel dispenser was empty so I dried my hands as best I could on my pants and headed to the counter to order, or be told to have a seat. No less than 5 employees were standing around chatting with no regard to my presence. I saw what appeared to be a terminal, cash register, or whatever we're calling them now so I headed to the end of the counter by this screen. There I noticed it appeared maybe I place my order myself so I began. Dine in, then New Order, then it asked for an employee# and I knew I was mistaken. The employees carrying on amongst themselves clearly didn't care that I existed much less in this place of business. I walked next door to Primo Hoagies and had a fine sandwich for dinner. It was my moms birthday and I normally do a bbq every year on the fourth for her but my brother wanted to give me a break and said he would get a bunch of food from here, at first I wasn't thrilled but everything turned out great!
