Not just pizza.... This Italian restaurant came out swinging. A group of us went here on a Saturday night. Everything was fresh and made to order. We started with the fried calamari. Not chewy. Perfectly made and obviously fresh. We also got an order of the rice balls. Excellent outer coating with a creamy rice mixture inside and covered with Vodka sauce. Lastly we went with the eggplant tower. Slices of eggplant, layered with prosciutto, tomato and mootz. For dinner, I shared two dinners with a friend. We got the Brooklyn Chicken Parm and the Squid Ink Linguini with seafood. Brooklyn Chicken was a chicken parm, topped with pepperoni and stratchatella (did I spell that correctly?) With Vodka sauce and I opted for it over pasta. The seafood dish was fresh and one of their signature dishes. The squid ink Linguini was one of the best pastas I've had. The sauce paired perfectly with the calamari, scallops, mussels, and clams. Can't be beaten. To end the night, we had the toffee cake with ice cream. To top it off, it's BYOB. From A - Z, this is one of the top places I've been to in the area. The young lady that helped us was absolutely phenomenal. Came here with a decent size group of 9. The service was great and very unrushed. Our server was very patient with us and attentive. The spot is BYOB and there is a lot with a ton of parking. The acoustics were great in there so you could hear well even though it was very busy. All the food was good and especially loved the appetizers, specially the long artichokes and the eggplant tower. Good price for ordering online dinner specials. The chicken was dry and should've been tenderized. The francaise sauce was tasty. Pasta side is basic, nothing out of the ordinary. Probably won't be back since this is very out of the way for me, and better places are in my hometown. The dining area is very casual. read more

We used to love this place but it has definitely gone downhill. Went in with my son and they must have changed the policy because all of a sudden they were not accommodating for food allergies. They wanted to up-charge for changing chicken cutlet to grilled chicken and from pasta to potato(they told me $6 up charge for the potato, don't remember what it was for the chicken swap). The waitress seemed to be less than thrilled to be at work due to her attitude. The portions also seem to have gotten smaller and prices have gone up. Doubt we would ever go back. read more

I don't know how I overlooked this place. I highly recommend checking it out. Although the menu is large there is something for everyone. I appreciate the gluten free section of the menu. Our server was attentive and accommodating. The space is beautifully decorated for the holiday. Upon walking in you feel invited and welcome. Food was super expensive. After checking the receipt, I was very taken back to see they charged $5 extra for gluten free pasta! That's ridiculous! Most places charge $2 (which is still disappointing, especially when I also request no cheese, which there's no discount for...) and a few don't add any extra charge, which is greatly appreciated. I got a slice of pizza today for lunch very quickly. When I walked into the place, I thought I was going to an Italian restaurant instead of a pizzeria. I order take out from here at least 2-3 times a month and love their gf pizza it's tasty and not bland like most places. I also like their chicken Napoli and their salads are delish. Sometimes if I'm not that hungry I'll order the chicken and broccoli rabe and it's a solid meal . My family loves this place and we love the bread that comes with all our orders. read more

Totally messed up my order. They sent me an email about a thin crust special with pepperoni, stretchy cheese, and then you can add to it, so I added eggplant, pizza cost me $24. Get it home and there's no pepperoni, no basil, no hot honey, so I didn't get the special that they advertised. when I called, they did apologize and they said they'll put me down in the book with a $24 credit so I guess they have a book for when they mess up, kind of says that they mess up a lot. Not too happy. When I asked for a manager, or a supervisor, they said there was nobody to speak to. So basically I eat my pizza, not the pizza I ordered, and I try again another time. Have been pleased in the past with the food. However I ordered a 1/2 tray of eggplant Parm for a party and was very disappointed. Piles of fried eggplant with no discernable cheese in between the layers. It was covered with a thick rubbery layer of cheese on top. Food was very good but the service was lacking. We ordered a Caesar salad to start. It took at least 20 minutes to get the salad, while other diners who came in after us were already eating their appetizers. We also ORDERED the Thai Chili Calamari which the waitress commented was excellent. After finishing our salad and waiting several more minutes our entree came out. When we asked about the Calamari, the waitress acted like we had just "Asked about it" but we didn't order it. She apologized and we told her to forget about bringing it. The entree was good, spaghetti and meatballs, (which was not on the menu) with a very good sauce. Great dinner here with a large family group. We showed up around 5 on a Saturday without a reservation and they sat 11 of us. We all liked our meals. The waitstaff was good and took care of our needs. The chicken francese was yummy as was the chicken milenese. Shared a pizza that was devoured. Salads were all fresh. Generous baskets of fresh bread for the table. While I sorely miss good old Oakland Pizza (that used to be in this location), but this restaurant is very very good replacement. read more

Ambience is surprisingly pleasant with a rustic feel. Staff was pleasant and seemed to be trying hard to keep things moving along. There were seven in our party, so there was a good variety of entrees to sample. Several fell short, either too much salt, overly spicy or the pasta was undercooked . As for dessert, our coffee was tepid and arrived after the desserts were either already eaten or melting. Several bills were rung up wrong. I don't think we'll be returning. read more

Vibe is that same trendy look that is everywhere (is that good???)-Edison bulbs, metal based wood tables, shiplap & brick walls. Predictable look but pleasant. Had Chicken Napoli (very good) with side of linguine w/ red sauce (very good) Ordered pasta dish (Linguini Portabello?)without the sausage. Not a fan-it was quite oily and mushrooms tasted saturated in balsamic so that was a little over powering. The bread would have been very good if it was heated up. It was later on a Monday night so...In Nutley I had the pear stuffed pasta dumplings (forget name) They were wonderful! Service tonight (Taylor) was excellent-friendly and attentive! Made reservations for 8 at 8pm on New Year's Eve. We should have gone home!! I was utterly shocked in the matter we were treated. First a waitress literally threw the menu at us , then told us that she needed to take the entire order together . Not drinks, not wine glasses not even water! Food took a while but it also came in all at the same time, waitress didn't bother to ask if we needed anything nor cleared the table from empty glasses nor dirty dishes. She did inform us that she was giving us extra 15 minutes to eat because they needed to leave by 9:15pm because it was New Year's Eve. That it was out of her control. The "manager" left, so she claimed! Why give us a reservation for 8pm? There were only teenagers left to clean up! With this kind of service I doubt this place would be more than a spot to get a slice!! Very sad to say because the food is good!! read more

The chicken Marsala was also good, but parts were overcooked and a little dry. The service we had was good, but it was when the place was basically empty so it's hard to make a good judgement. We did takeout-Food is OK. Vodka sauce is kind of flavorless, chicken Dominic was a bit watery and sauce didn't have much flavor. Chicken franchise was ok in flavor, red sauce on our side on linguini was great (right consistency and flavorful) and the chicken arrabbiata was great. Good depth of flavor and not watery. Apparently salads were supposed to come with our food if we ordered linguini (which we did) and we did not receive our salads which was disappointing. Also the side of linguini pasta that came with our dish-didnt match with our orders/we were not asked what sauce we wanted. Ordered calamari with marinara sauce and eggplant Parmesan. The calamari came with tomato sauce that tasted like Ragu and the eggplant Parmesan came out with the same exact sauce as the calamari. Was not that appetizing and ate half the calamari with no ' marinara sauce' and only ate half of the eggplant. I was a bit surprised that the pricing differs if you dine in vs take out; and it differs by a few dollars, which I found surprising. Been here many times. Love this place, I recommend it. Here's the deal... Last visit they added an extra meal to my bill (2 people). Accidents happen? Ok They gave me two menus with different prices. Questioned, they said the lower prices were the old menu prices and they wouldn't honor them because it was "the only old menu in the stack". I had chicken Napoli $29, it was good, but for me there was a little too much balsamic glaze and way too much oil, the chicken was swimming in it. Last night, my wife and I went to Cucina 347 in Oakland had a wonderful dinner paid the bill got up to use the restroom before going home, was standing at the urinal just finishing one of the guys from the kitchen came out of the stall didn't wash his hands and went right into the kitchen. I did not see who it was and I was so disgusted I just walked out of the restaurant. I probably should've said something to the manager. That is a scumbag and I wouldn't eat it that fucking restaurant if it was the last restaurant on the face of the Earth I am definitely calling the Board of Health on Tuesday. read more
