The folks working there are great, easy to work with, but the food is terrible. Ordered the chicken cutlet sandwich with roasted red peppers, lettuce and vinegar. It's a large sandwich but there's no flavor, there's absolutely nothing to write home about, and for what they charged for it, it's shameful. The Chicken Parmesan dinner was ALSO SHAMEFUL. The sauce is so watered down, there's no crisp or crunch, sauce has no flavor, I had to dump out all the water because the breaded chicken was soggy the second I opened the container. We've been eating at Tony's for years now but just recently booked it for a lunch after my daughter's communion. I gotta say, the whole experience was exceptional. From the planning, to the picking out of the menu, everything was great. We opted for the family style service and the food was incredible and portions were huge. Plenty left over to take home. Tony's is located in a cute historic looking area. When you enter, you can tell it's an older family owned establishment. The server was very attentive and sweet. We ordered pizza slices for the kids. It's thin crust, but not crispy. Not super greasy. Our picky eater who usually only picks the cheese off pizza actually ate the whole slices. I ordered one of the pastas and was shocked when it came out. It comes out in a bowl that's twice the size of an adult males head! Lol it took me 3 attempts to finish it! Ordered a philly cheesesteak and a frank Sinatra sub. Both were terrible. The bread is too bulky given the sparse ingredients. Therefore the ratio of bread to fillings in bad. I could get a better sub at Wawa or Subway and half the cost. Why there is so little meat and cheese/ greed maybe. Fun place with a huge menu so it is easy for a family with differing tastes. The tacos pleased our guest and the clams over linguine satisfied the picky granddaughter. The fried calamari was very well made. The ravioli dish left much to be desired and ended up being discarded once we got home and decided it just was not what we expected. Stopped in at Tony's Pizza in Pompton Lakes with my sisters for some lunch. Apparently, it's a Mexican restaurant, as well. I wasn't in the mood for pizza, so I had a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich (minus the peppers). The sandwich came out hot and there was so much meat on the sandwich that I had to take some off! My sisters got 2 slices of pizza each and said it was very good. One of us got dessert, a piece of Oreo Mousse Cake that quickly disappeared. The menu is HUGE!! We've been coming here for more than 15 years. It's one of 25 places to get pizza within 5 miles. Tony's is the go-to place for pizza and traditional American style Italian. Roberto, the current owner, was the sous chef for more than a decade when Tony sold the restaurant to him. Roberto and his wife had started a Mexican restaurant down the block; when the deal for Tony's came they folded the Mexican menu into the Italian one. Roberto has taught his sons to have the same light touch with the pizza dough, one of the more delicate in the area with just enough chew without being tough. As a traditional American style pizza it has a bit too much cheese in my opinion, but everyone loves it. Entrees encompass the classic and traditional as well as some newer combinations of ingredients. The Mexican menu is only a small part of restaurant's offerings but this is all home made; burrito, shredded beef chimichangas and flautas. Shrimp Vera Cruz is a delight. They have toned down the spice to appeal to the local community but feel free to ask for more heat for any reason. While prices are edging up there are only a couple dishes that near $20 and most are $9-18. A 18" pie is still under $15. Tony's is BYOB, there's no corkage fee and it's not uncommon to see a table sit down with a couple different wines. read more

Tony's Pizza was YUMMY! The interior is cute and I love the mix of Mexican and Italian cuisine. You can hear the chef/staff music from the kitchen and it gives the place a great vibe. Unfortunately I wasn't very impressed with Tony's when I went, I felt that it was a bit overpriced for what I ordered & it came out wrong too, (chicken cutlet sandwich plain is what I ordered with lettuce and tomato on the side so it didn't get hot and mushy) I got a chicken parm, which although wasn't what I ordered was very good.
