I handed him what I thought were two $20 bills and asked for $15 back, leaving what I figured was a fair tip. Instead of just handing me my change, he slapped the bills on the counter and said, "This is what you handed me." To my surprise, I'd mistakenly given him a $20 and a $50. I had no idea. He could've easily just given me $15 back as I'd asked and kept the extra cash--a hefty tip I would've been none the wiser about. But he didn't. He was honest and made sure I got the right change. That's a huge amount of decency and integrity. If that's not the kind of local business worth supporting, I don't know what is. Huge respect for that guy--and yes, the pizza's great, too.

Calamari/shrimp was also good with nice sized butterflied shrimp. My main issue was packaging. I felt like removing stars for this (but didn't). The delivery driver arrived at my front door, and even though I had selected the option to leave it there, he rang the bell and waited. I guess I'm glad he did because my 5 containers were just handed to me individually. No bag. Not even a box...which I really don't like anyway. Then I saw most were in those metal tins with the clear plastic tops that crimp on. Half were crushed, and you know those were the eggplant entrees with the melted cheese. We weren't ignored; both guys at the counter kept checking in and updating us. After paying, they gave us a free 2 liter soda for waiting so long. Most pizza spots we've visited so far could care less if we wait or not; this just shows you how much customer service matters. Up first, the Margherita pie: the fresh mozzarella was perfect, the crust was not too think, not too thin, and the sauce had a nice taste especially with the fresh basil. The only issue with this pie - canned plum tomatoes. If they used fresh plum tomatoes on this pie it would've grabbed first place as our favorite Margherita pie, thus far. Overall, we would would try it again since everything else was cooked perfectly and the right ingredients were used. The thin Sicilian - nothing special; your ordinary Sicilian pie, sauce, cheese, but the crust was a bit soggy which hurts it rating our of the three. The peperoni pie was an equal to our favorite so far - Danny's Pizza in Bloomingdale. Both pies have a very similar taste with a slight edge to Danny's due to their crust. But Ferati's pie was very good and definitely worth another try - it wasn't greasy; cheese was melted perfect, the crust wasn't too thick or thin with a nice soft middle. Overall, 4 stars to Ferati's due to their caring attitude and a pretty damn good Margherita pie! Great job guys!
