Called up to place an order for pickup. They told me my order would be ready in 30 minutes. I got there exactly in 30 minutes, and as I walked in, they were taking my food out of the oven. The Brooklyn thin Square pie and the Grandpa thin square pie were cooked perfectly since I had asked them to make them both well done. The vodka chicken parm hero and regular chicken parm were also on the money. Couldn't have asked for better service or food tonight. A menu from this place was in our mailbox last week. We were not familiar with Pizza Cucina but the menu peaked our interest. Yesterday we ordered some food for the first time for pick up: 1-a grilled chicken hero and 2-a grilled chicken panini with pesto. Order was ready when we got there. We were greatly impressed with the quality of the food and the value. Both items were delicious, as good as and likely better than we've had from other local places. Pizza Cucina is our go-to for take out pizza since we moved to Montville. They make a good solid pie. Standouts are the white with spinach and fresh tomato and the bruschetta pizza. Service is quick (20 minutes typically) and so convenient. Best regular pizza in town in my opinion. Sooooooo excited to find this place as we just moved to the area! We attended a birthday party at kidnetic and the pizza was delicious...asked where it was from and was told Pizza Cucina- excellent as it's a mile from our new house. We have been in our new house for 4 nights and have ordered delivery from here twice already. The person taking the phone order is polite and efficient . The food omg is amazing. Tonight we ordered 4 sandwiches and a kids meal - everyone was satisfied and ate all of their food...no complaints by anyone! The orders are always delivered correctly too. We are told 45min-1hour tonight and the food was here within 35 minutes. As someone who does not like to cook, we will definitely be ordering from Pizza Cucina A LOT! read more

Pizza is 4-stars. COVID precautions--at least on our visit on Friday 1/29/2021--are 2-stars. This results in my 3-star rating. Attributes that did not factor into my rating, but might be of concern to others are: long wait time (we received an estimate of 40 minutes at 8 pm, whereas other pizzerias in the area usually take 20); inaccurate hours on website (they appear to have expanded their pandemic hours from 8:30 to 9 pm, at least on weekends). We ordered a veggie pizza. The crust was thin, nicely crunchy on the edges, but a bit soggy in the center--which is fine, because we tend to eat pizza with a knife and fork anyway. (Quelle horreur!) Toppings were ample and varied, with spinach and black olives along with the standard broccoli, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms. The front of the restaurant is glass, so as we pulled into a parking space up front, we could see that there was someone sitting inside, doing something on his phone and not wearing a mask. The chef was similarly without a mask, as was someone else who briefly entered from a back room and returned there. We called to ask about procedure; the guy who answered the restaurant phone (who turned out to be the person we had initially spotted) said he would bring the pizza out to our car and took my credit-card info over the phone. He *did* put on his mask to deliver the pizza, and to go back inside and fetch the receipt for us. read more

After having been here a handful of times and tried a good sampling around the menu (pizzas, sandwiches, etc) I can confidently give this place the full 5-star salute, haha. The pizza is an interesting hybrid, the standard NY metro area style, but a bit thinner than your average slice - this of course leads to me eating 3 slices instead of 2 (great for trying a variety - not as good for the diet hahaha). Make no mistake, this is not "thin crust" in any sort of way - just a bit less doughy. Of course this does not apply to the Sicilian style, which is perfectly bready for its style - the "upside down" Sicilian is a wonderful grandma-style pie with the cheese under the sauce. It was a crowd favorite for sure. I also tried a few others, such as The Artichoke, and loved that I didn't have to travel all the way out to Alphabet City to get one of these unique slices, lol. In the end, I think my overall favorite was the Goodfella, with sausage & broccoli rabe. Try it, you'll love it. I've also tried a hot sandwich (grilled chicken, broccoli rabe, fresh mozz, and balsamic glaze), it was just as good as the others for sure. This place is definitely in the top of the rotation, and I'll have to come back again to try one of the entrees and pastas, too! read more

The pizzas, tiramisu, and cheesecake we had delivered from Pizza Cucina probably would have been good if the Yelp delivery service (GrubHub, I believe) had followed the simple instructions I wrote in their online delivery form, "Leave off the green peppers and olives" on the Veggie Lovers pizza. But they didn't. This isn't the first time I've used the Yelp app's delivery service and it isn't the first time they screwed up our delivery either. There isn't a way to call Yelp/Grubhub easily either as I always seem to get, "we're experiencing heavier than normal call volumes..." so they advise you to call the restaurant, which I did. Well, according to Pizza Cucina, Yelp does not inform the unsuspecting restaurants listed in their app, of this delivery scheme. They have no contract or anything with Yelp, regarding delivery of their food. Since there was no way to amend Yelp's mistake tonight and the restaurant was minutes from closing, I had a PB&J for dinner. Bleh! I'm so angry right now and tired so I'm going to try to contact Yelp/Grubhub or whoever the hell was responsible for this delivery fiasco, tomorrow to try and get a refund. The upside down pie i had was pretty terrible. I came here just for this and the pie was not cooked properly. The entire center of the pie was covered in cold, unmelted shredded mozzarella with the sauce thrown on top and a pool of water that collected from the cheese starting to melt but not quite. It was as if the person making it had no idea how to make an upside down pie. I ordered at 3pm in the afternoon on a Saturday. It was not busy at all(just after lunch rush but before dinner.) I was going to return it and ask them to make me another but this place is a half hour out of my way(round trip) and I didn't want to deal with going back and forth. Plus there was no guarantee the person who made this awfulness would get it right the next time. I also ordered a large cheese pie and a sausage onion, pepper Stromboli. The Stromboli was big but when I cut in to it I was sad to see mostly dough and cheese. They literally julienned a half a sausage link and spread it out inside. It was so sparse and sad looking. Out of a fifty dollar order the only thing that was worth it and delicious was the plain cheese pie. Thin and crispy with an excellent crust. Boy was I happy that we did. They have really thin crust pizza in a variety of flavors. That day they had a margherita, plain, buffalo chicken, spinach white and a few others. We decided to stick with the buffalo chicken and the plain. The buffalo chicken was flavorful and had a good buffalo sauce/ranch sauce ratio. The plain by itself was really good. We usually order pizza from this spot and never have a problem. Whether it's been a delicious thin crusted cheese pie, salads, soups, pasta dishes etc., there has never been an issue. Sadly last night we decided to order an artichoke pizza that is listed in the specialty pizza section. Here goes. Clearly the menu states this was a specialty pizza that it made with thin crust and contains artichoke hearts, spinach, mozzarella cheese and cream sauce. As I expected a rather artisanal pizza with a matching ratio of what the other pies have consisted of, I got the complete opposite. The crust was thin as presumed, but this pizza was literally a huge glob of spinach and artichoke dip usually served in a bowl of some sort with pita chips if you may. I was so disappointed. There were NO artichoke hearts, but rather super thin slices of overcooked artichoke skin. When you picked up the slice of pizza from the pie, it literally fell apart and the dough and crust was completely saturated from the grease and oil. It was gross. The ratio of substituted artichoke cheese dip versus a carefully curated ingredient recipe was about 80:20 (20 being the crust). Therefore, the pizza was inedible and falling apart. Pizza Cucina, you have sadly failed me this time. Hopefully we can rekindle someday. read more

There's a handful of pizzerias/Italian restaurants in the area, but when this one popped up during my search for a place to order takeout from, I decided to give it a go. Despite the name of this place, the menu is impressively extensive, reaching far beyond pizza. Pasta, chicken, veal, paninis, calzones- you name it, this place has it. I opted for the eggplant rollatini pie with vodka sauce instead of tomato sauce and it was delicious! The crust was light and buttery, although it probably could have been cooked a minute or two longer. The pie had the perfect amount of sauce, the eggplant was lightly coated and tasty (wish there was more of it, though), and the ricotta on top really pulled everything together. I like how there's 3 sizes available for pies (small, medium, large); the small is plenty for one person. The menu prices are fair too, and are in line with what I would expect. I think this place is a nice addition to the pizza/Italian food scene in the area, and I look forward to trying more items! read more

While the service was good, and the rice balls clearly have been frozen for a while but fine, the wings were one of the weirdest wings I've ever eaten, I'm beginning to think that they are very old. Been trying to find a good pizza place around these part of the woods. I'm used to the thin NY style pizza and most of the pizza here are too doughy for my taste. We originally set out for a pizza tour where we would order one slice before heading to other places but ended up having a full blown meal.
