Stopped by Neil Pizzeria after hearing some good things, and overall, it was a nice experience. We tried the Classic Buffalo Chicken pizza, the Arugula Special, and an order of French fries. The Buffalo Chicken pizza didn't quite hit the mark for us the flavor just didn't work the way we expected. But the Arugula Special was fresh, tasty, and definitely the highlight among the pizzas. And surprisingly, the French fries were amazing crispy, well-seasoned, and a total winner. Service was quick and the place was clean. 3.5 stars I had not been to Neil's Pizzeria in years, but happened to be in the area recently, so I stopped in with a friend to grab a slice. The staff was very nice and friendly, which is always appreciated. While the traditional place offered a variety of pies, baked dishes, sandwiches, and more, I just wanted something small and loved that they had such a huge selection of random slices for purchase. I wound up selecting the "Pizza Deliziosa", which utilized a thin layer of sauce topped with sliced tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, and garlic. First of all, the thin crust was nice and crispy. In addition, since the cheese had been added in slices, the pizza was less greasy, and you could easily remove the cheese if you wanted to. While I enjoyed the Deliziosa and found it well-seasoned and not oily, I also did not think that the mozzarella had any flavor. I would go back to Neil's if in the area, but there are also many other old favorite pizzerias I might revisit first. read more

I've tried this pizza twice in the last month but wanted to check out the restaurant being it was local and sit down with a slice before I wrote this. My first experience was my sister ordered from Neil's for a small family get together and I'm normally not blown away by many pizzas at this point because I know what I like as an Italian in NJ being here my whole life and eating pizza my whole life! But the sicilian was exceptionally good, I especially enjoyed the sausage on the pie which I'm pretty picky about. Cooked well, tasted great and not too fat like some sicilian slices/pies can be. After that I kept saying I gotta try them again so we stopped here for lunch the other day and it was slightly busy but plenty of seats still and no real wait around 12 on a weekday. Ordered 2 sicilian slices, a plain and a pepperoni and sausage slice, was still very good but a little under heated IMO but not ice cold or anything. Service was friendly, restaurant was clean. 3.5 stars, Def worth stopping for lunch or ordering a pie for a Sunday football game or dinner! My favorite pizza place to stop by and eat when visiting Wayne. Their food is fresh and delicious. So many options for pizza, the toppings were endless. There is penne alla vodka, eggplant parmigiana, Chinese style chicken, veggie pizza etc. Their subs are also delicious and can be modify anyway. The sub was crispy and soft on the inside. It was wonderful. Very friendly workers. I basically ate here for 3 days straight for lunch. Do your self a favor and go check this place out. read more

I grew up near Philly and was spoiled with cheesesteaks so I am picky with them. First time I tried their cheesesteak and wow! Quality bread, steak and cheese. Was cooked perfect and they were not cheap on meat and cheese. Ratio of bread to steak was perfect! Will definitely order a cheesesteak from them again. I highly recommend Neil's overall. I've tried all the pizza places in the area and Neil's is hands down the best out of all. The crust is thin but not too thin and has great bite in it. It folds just as a pizza should fold, and the cheese and toppings don't just slide out. This is exactly what your classic Jersey-style pizzeria should be. I've ordered pastas salads here a few times and their portions are all very large. If you're like me and you don't carry much cash, they don't bother you with some $10 credit card minimum. The Chicken, Parmesan hero was not THE BEST AT ALL. It was literally chopped up chicken that they were about to throw on pizza for the chicken Parm pizza. Which is probably a lot better. Since high school, this has been my favorite pizza place in Wayne. I love how they have so many different specialty pies. My favorite is the pesto chicken and buffalo chicken. In the past I have tried the spinach slice as well. Recently I had the chicken bacon ranch and it was a little dry/needed some more ranch and maybe they could've skipped over the fries.
