Eat Like Being in Naples, Italy!!! My wife and I went to Neil's Pizzeria & Restaurant at the Village Ridge Shopping Center, 588 Valley Rd, Wayne, NJ Last night for the first time but I can guarantee not the last. They were busy with customers eating in and customers picking Up takeout. We got a table and sat down. The owner came over and suggested Several dishes, pasta's, seafood, veal, and chicken which all sounded Exceptionally good and made my decision harder to choose as I wanted to try them all. I ordered the Pescatore which included clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari over linguine. It arrived in a big square platter and looked and smelled amazing. All the shellfish were cooked Perfectly as well as the al dente pasta. It was phenomenally delicious!!! I ate it Like it was my last meal! I could not eat it fast enough it was that good. My wife ordered A bowl of Stracciatella Romana Soup. I tasted a spoonful, and it was the best Stracciatella Soup I ever had in any restaurant. My wife enjoyed it immensely. As servers walked by us bringing pizzas to the tables they all looked incredible and smelled Delicious. We met the owner who is a super nice gentleman. He thanked us for our patronage and wished us a Happy holiday. I highly recommend you try Neil's Pizzeria! You will not be disappointed! read more

The pizza was fantastic, they are one of the best pizzas I had in a while and the service was great.

I stop into Neil's Pizzeria occasionally during lunch when I'm in the direction of Valley Road running an errand. It's in the strip mall that used to have A&P anchoring it. It's tucked away in the corner. They always have at least 10-15 different kinds of slices available whenever I stop in. I've had the plain cheese, vodka sauce, eggplant parmigiana, and chicken bacon ranch slices among others. Of those, I'd probably say that the vodka sauce and chicken bacon ranch slices were my favorites. Those two kinds were the standouts for me. They are unique and worth trying. For the most part, the pizza is decent, but I've definitely had better. It's not my first choice of pizza place, but you won't be disappointed either. Neil's gets really busy at lunch time as it is located across the street from Wayne Valley High School. The kids will literally fill up the restaurant. So plan your timing accordingly or grab your pizza to go. read more

I should start this brief review, with a qualification that I've only given it three stars because we've only gotten take out from Neil's. All the items we've gotten have been absolutely wonderful! In particular, my order of mussels. They were plump, tender, and in a tomato sauce that was mostly tomato and very little oil. The bread that was supplied was fresh and crusty and absolutely perfect with an order of mussels. Salads were generous, the wrap that we ordered was perfect, and the two orders of gnocchi could not have been better. We look forward to going there again. read more

There was this sweet Asian girl in front of me asking for french fries and the employee was like, "Herro? What are you trying to say? Chicken Fried Rice? We don't serve CHICKEN FRIED RICE!". I couldn't believe my ears! The girl's face became red and I was truly disgusted! I even told the employee that what he said was messed up! Great staff and great food. Everyone who works here is always friendly and smiling. Food is fantastic. Everything from pizza to pasta is great. Spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce for $8.00 is amazing. Sauce is tasty and meatballs have great flavor. The Neal's special cheesesteak is the best cheesesteak I have ever had. Wow !! We have been going to Vinnies for years. Tonight we decided to try Neil's - why did we wait so long?? The mussels with hot sauce were sooo good !! I've been going to Neil's for about 20 years and the pizza, dinners, and salads are amazing! They have the most friendly staff there and many have been there for a long time! It's a casual atmosphere and it's very affordable. I highly recommend pizza from there. I also love the fact that they have so many speciality pizzas which are really good! I'm really conflicted about this place. For the most part the food is really good but the service needs to step it up a notch. The last three/four times I've ordered from them I've been with my boyfriend and his family and for some unknown reason they've always messed up the order. Either something was missing or details on the order were wrong. Be specific if you order an Italian Hot Dog!! I've never heard of having tomato sauce with it - yuk!! If I I wanted a sausage and pepper sandwich, I've would of ordered one. What can I say about Neil's? It's not perfect but pretty damn close. Most of their food are my all time favorites, rest are solid choices with great prices. Usually too lazy for reviews but I had to make an exception for Neil's. I have tried most of their specialty slices and a few pasta dishes, here are my thoughts. Hopefully I can try them all one day. All Time Favorites 1. Sicilian with fresh diced tomato Live for this slice. Delicious and so fresh. 2. Sicilian plain Basic but lovely 3. Plain slice Not much to say but great. 4. Ricotta/ white slice with or without toppings Really rich 5. Vodka sauce Chicken vodka or vodka zita slice or any vodka pasta is great. The vodka sauce is killer. 6. Tortellini/ baked Ziti Great on slice or pasta 7. Garlic knots Large and soft, delicious 8. Eggplant Parm or Parm sandwich: my mom is addicted and she is a connoisseur of eggplant. Rollatini seems great too 9. Marinara sauce and Ricotta on Pastas/ slices Perfect classics. Exactly what you expect. Love the manicotti, stuffed shells, cheese ravioli, lasagna, slices 10. Square Bruschetta slice Fresh and great. Solid choices/ popular 1. Buffalo chicken slice with ranch Great classic 2. Salad slices (classic,arugula, etc) or Veggies Slices ( all, mushroom, etc) Any kind, yum and refreshing. 3. Italian hero and California Cheesesteak Perfect size and flavor 4. Chicken and broccoli and chicken ranch( with or w/o lettuce Can't complain love them. 5. Pizza Deliziosa/ Primavera/ Oreganata Great execution in my opinion 6. Small round slice So cute love it. Tastes great 7. Calzone Stromboli Big fan of classic and spinach ricotta sure the other are great. 8. Alfredo sauce The pasta and slices taste great but reheating is hard and sauce separates. But that happens to me everywhere with alfredo sauce and microwaves Only things I can't recommend... unfortunately. 1. Lobster ravioli A gamble anywhere but just not good. Pricey. Maybe an off day but wouldn't get it again. 2. Grandma slice To be honest I might hate grandma slices but didn't love it. I've been going there since I was like 9 so 15 years basically. From walking from Lafayette elementary school, biking from Anthony Wayne, classic lunch spot from Valley, to hometown cravings when home from college, quick dinners after an exhausting workday,to the highlight of weekends and parties: Neil's has always been there. But it's way more than nostalgia that keeps me loyal. Kind and attentive staff that is always friendly, sometimes offering a free pizza slice while waiting or dropping a dollar. They will always go out of their way for you and make delicious food. Fast, convenient, quality and inexpensive food for dine in, take out and delivery. What can I say? Neil's is bae read more

I was very excited about trying Neil's for the first time. A friend of mine mentioned that it had a more substantial crust, which is what I was looking for. I ordered a plain pie for pickup. Having lived in Wayne for about 8 years and in New Jersey my entire life, I have tasted an obscene amount of pizza all over the state. After I got out of work on St. Patrick's Day, I wanted absolutely nothing to do with corn beef and cabbage (because I work in a deli and was tired of looking at it lol) and decided to grab a pepperoni pie at Neil's. They may have been slow due to the holiday, but that meant I got extra attention on my pizza. I asked for it to be cooked well done, and when I went in, the gentleman behind the counter showed it to me and asked if it was to my liking. It definitely was. I must say that was the best pie I have had from there. In addition to their pizza, I am a huge fan of their subs and calzones. Absolutely delicious. I had also bought some pies and a 3 foot italian sub from them for a Super Bowl party. Being one of the busiest days of the year, they still delivered high quality food. I can't wait to go back.
